I always love doing my Clark Griswolding on Thanksgiving as my dad and grandpa use to.

What happened with this story?? My wife thought she heard on Bortz the other day that the Governor turned it down. I guess I'm just crazy b/c I was really hoping it would pass so that they would bring in over a bil a year plus jobs for the state as well as in the area. I'm always hearing how bad our state is hurting financially b/c of the building boom 20 yrs ago that we are just now paying for. Oh well, I keep forgetting GA is one of the last states if not the last in the country to sell alcohol on Sundays in stores as well.

I'd like to know where they are at. Especially when I have sucked it up and called temp agencies to only be told that over half the jobs that they are posting are fake and for unemployment statitical purposes. I am a construction equipment mechanic by trade with 10 yrs experience and I am constantly being told I am over qualified or "We can't pay you what we think you want" They don't even know how much I want.. Tired of hearing it considering you are learning until the day you die. Also like a few PCrs I have read on other posts, I am tired and sick to my stomach seeing all these lazy peo

I guess I'm just an idiot, but my wife and I were talking to our neighbors about this the other night. To us it makes more sense economicaly to widen and straighten 61 along with stop lights near roads that schools are on. It already connects 75 and 20. Besides its getting VERY busy on 61N/S (Cartersville Hwy). If they are just wanting to wrap around further west of ATL to connect onto 75, they could still put a shorter interchange off of 61 at the southern part of their plans. You could kind of kill 2 birds with one stone in a way. Old Cartersville Rd area could use some development con

Not trying to sound like a moron, but is there a diag. that shows the interchange from 61N? All the diags I have looked at just seem to bleed together. We live on 61N (Burnt Hickory area just past the horse farm) in our neighborhood the back of our house faces the horse and cow pastures. Anyway last week the owner was out there with maybe 10 suits looking at the land. Kind of has me a bit worried considering if thats the location they are wanting the interchange it will be our new backyard. Also we have only lived here a little over a year and trying to figure out the reservoir everybody i

I totally agree. We live on Cartersville HWY N (Burnt Hickory). The traffic is getting way to high. It needs widened, straightened and some of the hills taken out.
-
I'm still trying to find out as well.
-
Have never gone there, but if its the same wing place behind a RaceTrac, my dentist moved out of the same complex a little over a month ago. The place is pretty much all closing down.
-
Wish we were. We live out towards the Burnt Hickory Community. To me thats a little far out to be on County water.

Well, called the news stations. Sounds like they have gotten quite a bit of calls from PC residents.
-
My wife called again today. Not liking it but we have been fighting this for almost month. She was this time told our bill doubled b/c of the 3 furlough days the county had. I can see our bill increasing a couple dollars, but not double payment. What is funny she had no comment when my wife told her we were calling the news stations. Then the woman started fumbling for words. HMMM somethings up

Yes it's clearly understood. Problem is, is that it's also been complained about on other forums not just Paulding.com that a lot of people's August bills were more than doubled if no 10 times. For almost 2 yrs we were around $50 for a month then this August came and more than doubled plus says we used almost 20000 gal of water. Thats more than some small businesses. Sept and October bill ALL went back to normal. Don't water the yard and no abnormal water use. We aren't the only ones in our neighborhood. Us neighbors are just hoping that when they flushed the hydrants in August it didn'

If only we could get a BK in the Dallas or New GA area.

Sounds a little odd. I would be VERY careful. It sounds like one of the squatters we have living out here on Cartersville HWY. Not only are they camping in the woods, but if you have quite a bit of trees in your yard they are going as far as camping in your yards. I know from experience. A neighbor and I busted 3 guys in their 30s to 40s last month cooking in a coffee can, they ran off, but have been busted 2 more times out here in our neighborhood and now have the sherriff out here at night. The sherriff has told us that they believe these guys busted into a few houses out here as well a

Just read the WSB news posting. It says they will have the video games. Bunko!!!!!
-
That would be awesome. I could see it going around here with the new movie studio being built here in Paulding. B/N those 2, that would be almost 2 bil for the state yearly.

In fact I started another topic on the water bills. Something is up with the PC water system. All bills normal through July, then more than doubled saying I used 15,000 gal in August. Sept bill back to normal. I know we used more water in September. I even know we have used more this month b/c of being able to burn now but according to meter we have used only 3100 gal and its almost time for them to read it. What is suspicious is the bill we got for August is saying at the top using 154(times 100) but the consumption chart shows only around 62 (times 100)

Our house is on the PC Water System as well as probably everyone else on here.
-
These aren't new viruses. They go along with the emails from FBI, Hillary and Obama. They have been saying from time to time for the past year on all the news not to open the emails.
-
Just did a search for water rates. There are a lot of other posts from earlier this month and in September about August bills being double or higher. I wonder if this warrants the TV station investigating PC like they are in Canton, and othe parts of Metro ATL?
-
Thats what they tried telling us. To bad we have the perk of having a plumbing company owner as our neighbor.
-
Yeah but I don't see those 3 days adding an extra 60 to mine and in some cases of people I have talked to an extra 100+.
-
Would LOVE to do that. Way too many of them. Smashed acorns are just like chestnuts or walnut shells and keep the fire a little warmer.
-
Smash them with a hammer and use in the fireplace or woodstove for more heat.

Did anyone elses water bill almost or more than double for the month of August? On one part of the bill it says we used a VERY high amount but on the consumption chart it shows one of the lowest amounts used in almost 2yrs of living in our house. I know we used more in Sept than August, but that bill is half the August bill. I hope what happened in Canton and parts of Woodstock isn't happening here because I have talked to a few others and they have the same issue.
