Explosions in area of Cochran Ridge Road

It was a man on McCready blasting beaver dams on the back of his property. No meth labs, sorry. -
We've used them twice. Both times with good results. We got exactly what we paid for in a timely manner.

My great grandmother bought me one of those electric jar openers as a wedding present and I thought I'd never use it. Man, was I wrong!!

I wish they'd spend a little less time patting themselves on the back and naming stuff after themselves and their buddies and a little more time on focusing on the real issues facing the county.

Lawsuit filed on Paulding deputy Brandon Howard

I think it speaks volumes that you're the only one who seems to agree with this whack-job -
Just slighty off topic: At our first kindergarten parent-teacher conference the teacher said that my son was behind his class because of pre-k. She said that most of the kids who'd had pre-k were behind the ones who hadn't. She attributed it to the time they spent having to unlearn the bad habits taught in pre-k such as writing in all capital letters and a few other seemingly minor things. She said what kids were being taught in pre-k was the opposite of what the state's learning requirements for kindergarten are/were. It didn't make sense to me because I was under the impression that pr

Thanks, Pubby. I will tell him to contact Dallas as well. I have found some available section 8 rental properties but I find it hard to believe that it takes up to TWO YEARS to be approved for section 8 assistance. This is an entirely new experience for me and so far it's an exercise in frustration...but I know they'd be there for me if the situation was reversed

I have a very dear friend who has recently hit very hard times. Him and his family are going to be evicted from their current apartment soon because they are behind on rent. I'm trying anyway I can to find help for him and the first thing i thought of was Section 8 Housing. I have never dealt with any type of government assistance before (neither has he) and we're unsure of where to start. The DCA website has done very little other than give me a huge headache. I called the phone number listed on their site to see if someone could point me in the right direction and the recording stated

When we bought our house, we found out it had previously been used as a rental house and apparently it wasn't the cleanest. We had mice...and quite a few of them. Being young newly weds and not knowing any better, my husband put poison in the crawl space. As someone said before, the poison makes them search out water. However, in our case, they did not leave the house in search of water, they crawled up into the walls around the pipes looking for it and died. OMG you want to talk about a horrible smell...UGH!!! And as someone said before, it lasts for weeks and weeks and nothing can neutral

Fess up! Who is your favorite and least favorite

I DETEST Ramona and Sonja. I would, under different circumstances, like Heather but that whole "Holla!" thing in the intro is totally off putting. Carole seems to be the most down to earth and fun to be around. Aviva just seems like a people pleaser to me. Her dad is a creep! And anyone who talks about having class and elegance as much as Luann does, obvisouly has neither. -
I wouldn't consider the outfit she wore, by itself to be risque. The outfit itself (at least the one I saw) did cover her from collarbone to ankle. However, when the mother decided to add a padded bra and booty pads she crossed the line. By the time she had her dancing provocatively, she couldn't even see the line anymore. Why on earth would you want to take your baby's innocence away from her any sooner than she'll already lose it in this day and age?? I just don't get...

I've lived here since I was 5. I went to Paulding County schools all through elementary, middle and high. I even went to College in Paulding since I went to Chatt Tech for my associates. I've always worked in the county limits and bought my own house here. I've never felt like I was considered anything other than an outsider since I wasn't born here and my family isn't from here. It seemed to me like the people I grew up with, whose families were all born and raised here, made a serious effort to remind the outsiders that even if you've lived here for 25 years, you're not FROM here. I have

1. The misuse of they're, their, there and your and you're. Poor grammar in general usually iritates me. The English language is going straight down the toilet. 2. People who let their children run wild in restaurants and stores. 3. Sharing an office with someone who feels the need to take EVERY single call on speaker phone and then repeat the conversation to me in its entirety even though I'm less than five feet away and clearly couldn't help but hear the conversation the first time around!!! 4. Bonus pet peeve beacuse I'm b*tchy today: Having a conversation with someone whose vo

So because someone works their way up the ladder over an 18 year period in their career and their departure from their former position coincides with a new administration, there must be something terribly wrong with them because they voluntarily resigned? Am I understanding you correctly? Your first post on this board and you're looking for dirt on someone? Sounds like someone's out for revenge. Yeah, Good luck with that.

Sick and tired of hearing it!! Yesterday there was a slideshow of her closet on wsbtv.com and I had to wonder who in their right mind would want to see that?!? It would be like an episode of "What NOT to wear". Her sense of style is atrocious.

HEADACHES.......WHAT IS OUT THERE BLOOMING?
PrettyInInk replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
OP- this is long but please read this: My husband had really bad headaches with a lot of sinus drainage and pressure for weeks on end. One day, on my way back to work from a Doctor's appointment, I decided to stop by the house and check on him because he'd stayed home sick from work and he NEVER does that. I found him in the bathroom literally vomiting up mucus (I know it's gross but I promise I'm making a point here). I called my son's ENT and took him straight there. They had to admit him to the hospital for a few days to give him IV antibiotics and pain meds. A few weeks later he had t -
My first job was as a hostess at The Cotton Gin. It was a great first job...but my opinion might be slightly skewed in its favor because it was where I met my first serious boyfiend

I tend to agree with the others who've said maybe she's just afraid to be alone. It could be that while she's been watching her husband suffer, this man had been a friend to her and nothing more and that she's leaning on him now more out of fear of being alone than out of actual love. Her moving in with him could also be because it hurts her to be in the home she shared with her husband. The memories may just be too much right now. I say let her do whatever she needs to do to cope with this huge loss. That being said, if my husband passed away from a long drawn out illness or suddenly, I can

I'm Living In Georgia, And I'm Staying There

Wow. I don't think the hamster wheel ever really got going on this one. At the very least it seems to be missing it's hamster. These posts seem like the stream of consciousness from a schizophrenic with learning impaired personalities. WTF?!? -
He would only have powder burns if the gun was discharged while they were "wrestling" for it. Even if the gun did not discharge while he was trying to get it away from the officer, the very fact that he attempted to get the gun away from him shows his intent to take that officer's life. I don't know where you stand, but I believe in fully supporting our deputies/officers right to defend themselves and take deadly action when justified. That is their job! And all of this nitpicking over whether or not he followed to the letter every single policy and procedure that is or you think should be

Another Flesh Eating Bacteria Case in Cartersville
PrettyInInk replied to its mr sarcastic to you's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I have a friend who is a nurse at a big Atlanta hospital and she said (like someone stated before) that they have quite a few cases of this going on there now. She said that the number of cases and severity is not any worse this year than it has been in years past, it's just that it's getting more media attention now due to that young girl's unforunate accident. From what I've read about this particular bacteria, it is present in a lot of places including most fresh water....which makes me never want to swim in a lake again. On a semi-related note- most people also aren't aware that stap -

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I went through the very same thing 3 years ago and I know exactly how heartbreaking it is; especially if you've been trying for a long time. The worst part for me was helplessly waiting; hoping and praying for a different outcome. I wish there was something I could say or do that would make this easier for you, but you and I both know words have very little meaning right now. Your family, especially you, will be in my prayers.
