Berry College Eagle is not looking happy
SusieQ404 replied to The Sound Guy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Statement from Berry College regarding the mother eagle: Dear Friends: Thank you for all the concern you have expressed over our missing mother eagle. I can assure you that we have been doing everything we can to assess the situation and to determine what may (or may not) have occurred. There is no doubt that her continued absence is not a good thing. But, as long as the father continues to feed the eaglet, all will be well. Yesterday, he brought in fish twice so that was good. Dr. Carleton believes that the eaglet is now large enough and strong enough to continue to progress successful -
People are a lot more rude in general these days in my opinion. There does seem to be a prevalent “me first & screw you” attitude out there. In years past if someone was rude, that was the exception, not the rule and people talked about it for days afterward. Now it’s so common that when people are kind to each other and reach out to help one another, that’s looked at as the exception. I don't see it changing in the future either. The people that are rude now are probably raising their children to be the same way they are.

Kittah's catch, this is her favorite prey second one
SusieQ404 replied to LPPT's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Dekay's snake. Harmless and pretty common around here. It could bite but that's rare. Even if it does, there's no venom associated with them. My kitty occasionally brings me one too. -
Why would it matter if they were born here? If they live in the area where the airport is, changes at the airport will effect them. Are you saying that only people that were born in Paulding county should have a say in what goes on in their county or their communities?

Rash of thefts in two New Hope neighborhoods last night

That's pretty bold. Sounds like they didn't care who saw them. -
Thanks you guys. I'm going to try and go home now.

Does anyone at home watching TV know if the lanes on 20 Westbound are open and if traffic is moving yet? I 'm stuck in downtown ATL waiting out the investigation and can't get any real time updates.

Could be they were thrown off by a deep southern accent. I can be at times and I was born and raised in the south. At times I have a hard time understanding what some cajuns are saying. Not to mention they talk so fast sometimes that I'm still trying to figure out what they said in the first sentence and they are already on the third sentence. I had to call the Sheraton in Memphis last week and whomever answered the phone had such a pronounced accent that I had to listen carefully to what she was saying. She did call me sugar and honey though so that made it ok. Haven't heard that in a while.

Know a good "Brick-Oven" and/or "wood fired" pizza place?
SusieQ404 replied to Boston Butt's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Not here but in Atlanta at Antico. Once you've had their pizza, nothing else compares. -
You can count on someone from somewhere being on spring break just about every week from early March through mid April. Lots of private schools were on spring break last week. Douglas County is out next week. Cobb County is out the week of March 31st. Fulton, Gwinnett, etc.are out the week of April 7th.

New GA. I get my two spoiled babies the suite in front of the building and they share it. They have a window to look out of, a TV to watch, one gets a big chair to sleep in and the other gets a pet bed. They had a sofa in one of the suites but I didn't see it the last time I was there. I like the room at the front because it's off by itself near the office. -

I hate it that people think that. I live in this area and I have good, long term neighbors who care about our community. There are criminals and riff raff in every community. Justin Beiber in Buckhead is a good example of that. Money doesn't buy class for sure. South Paulding does have problems sometimes and it just so happens that this week we've been in the news twice. But a quick stroll through Paulding.com posts will show that criminal activity is county wide these days from New Hope to Hiram and yes, even to South Paulding. -
I have a few questions for you business management folks
SusieQ404 replied to nschur's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't know your wife so please don't take this too personally. I'm thinking of this from the viewpoint of my own personal experience. I learned long ago that there are two sides to every story. I've been bitten before when I jumped to believe a story the person was telling me. Only later did I find out that I only got half of it. So, are you sure you have the whole story with no holes and nothing left out? Granted it does sound strange that they've cut their entire staff. When they cut it to 50% it definitely would have have grabbed my attention and set my warning bells ringing. -
This subject has been in the press lately with the upcoming 50th "anniversary" of the murder of Kitty Genovese in NYC. I remember studying it in college some 28 years ago. The lack of involvement by people who heard, saw, knew something was going on, etc. was widely reported at the time by the press. However, more recently, whether true or not, many people have come forward to say the press reported it inaccurately. Many people claim that they did try to notify the authorities even if they did anonymously. I think a lot of people fear repercussions if they get involved. I pick my battles but I

You know I used to try and give people the benefit of the doubt. Maybe because I didn't want to think that people would behave that way. Or maybe I was just young and hadn't experienced life much at that point. I'm older and jaded now. The CNN video of this incident has one of the men who rescued the kids stating that they were screaming "Mommy is trying to kill us" or something to that effect.

He's still there. My husband took my shoes to him last week. He's just not open all the time. He has another job somewhere else in Paulding so the shoe repair shop is not open when he's working the other job.

Prayers for your pretty little girl and for you.

Yep, I remember that nutcase. But I was referring more to what is wrong with people in general these days. Not just crazy women who drive their cars and children into large bodies of water. Yesterday it was the apparent random drive by with 30+ shots fired and today some fruit loop drives her car into the ocean. What the hell is wrong with people these days?

Submitted the state and federal together electronically. Both were deposited within a week.

Anybody see the video on the AJC? What the hell is wrong with people these days? The article said that she was incoherent. It should have stated the obvious, that she was just plain crazy.

I hear guns shots out here all the time too. But it's usually hunters or target practice and it's during daylight hours. I'm about half a mile from the house on Burton that was shot at last night and it greatly concerns me especially since you get the impression from the news that the home was picked at random.
