  1. Caped Crusader - I can't watch the video, something crazy has happened to the thread since you posted it and all I get is big black box over 90% of my computer screen.
  2. I saw this on Fox 5 this morning getting ready for work. Thirty-five shots fired into a house in a subdivision off Senator Rd. around 2 AM today and the occupants have no idea why or who could have done it. I haven't seen anything else about it online. Has anyone else heard anything about this?
  3. In a Word document, look under the tools tab and click word count.
  4. NM, I see it's off Austin Road. Was everyone able to get out ok?
  5. Not all of them. I'm pretty sure that the one on Ridge Rd. closes at some point every night. It started off as being open 24 hours but at some point that changed.
  6. Volunteer = no pay. In return you get to watch the play or listen to the concerts free while you work.
  7. I took my husband to see Michael McDonald at Symphony Hall this past fall. It was what he wanted to do for his birthday. Good concert with a nice mix of his solo stuff and old Doobie Brothers hits. Hoping my DH will return the sentiment and take me to see Clapton at Chastain this spring. Would love to see Al Green if he comes back to Atlanta!
  8. LOL,that's funny! They should ride to work and home again with me and look at what I see. That would change their minds real quick. I-20 on any given Monday - Friday morning is almost like a free for all until you hit Six Flags hill and then we all crawl to I-285. Once you cross over 285 it becomes a crazy mess again of weaving, dodging and tailgating until you pass over 75/85. You can't even count all the traffic laws that are broken along the way, you're too busy just trying to get to work in one piece.
  9. I think it will just end up another road rule that most people won't follow. Like not tailgating, not running red lights or not changing lanes in an intersection. You can get a ticket for all those too but people still do it all day long, everyday.
  10. City Grill, The Abbey, The Mansion, Dante's
  11. I think the raft race participants grew up, got good jobs, bought boats and just moved their parties over to Cocktail Cove at Lake Lanier. That place was just as crazy and wild as the river on any given summer weekend.
  12. I've actually been swimming in the pool at Warm Springs several times. I can't speak for this year but in the recent past they would let the springs fill the pool and then open them to public over Memorial Day weekend. It feels like warm bath water. It's fun to do at least once just to see what it's like. Below is last year's info from the GA State Parks website: Swim in the historic pools built by Franklin D. Roosevelt as a place for therapy. Normally kept empty for preservation, the shallow pools will be filled with naturally warm spring water. Tickets may be purchased over the phone wit
  13. She is adorable and pound puppies make great BFFs!
  14. Earned income credit probably. She might have worked at some point last year and may have been eligible for it.
  15. I ordered a steak at Applebee's "once" (never again). I should have known better but I did it anyway. It tasted like that mystery meat that they served in elementary school.
  16. I grew up hearing that from my mother too. Whenever I was late, she would tell me that she thought that I was dead in a ditch somewhere. We still stay that in my family.
  17. I don't have any advice about your son driving but I do know how you feel. We worry about our children from the moment they are born and never stop. My daughter is in her mid 20s and lives in Duluth. Every time there is severe weather headed to her area, I have to call her and make sure she knows what's going on. She's actually very sweet about it and just says " I know mama, thank you for making sure I'm safe". It's automatic, we never stop being protective mothers no matter how old or how prepared our children are.
  18. I hope it weakens. Some of those winds were clocked as high as 93 miles an hour in TN and they weren't even associated with a tornado. I don't like middle of the night severe weather. It's scary.
  19. Because the OPs post was from several years ago.
  20. Last box came from Sam's Club.
  21. South Carolina and east Georgia are shaking again this afternoon.
  22. On Valentine's Day I got a card. The week before my husband picked up the tab for all the junk I'd managed to throw in my basket at Sephora. He told me happy valentine's day as he was pulling out his debit card. That's fine with me and that's what I want. Give me something that I want or need, not candy that makes me fat and flowers that die a week later. I could have done without the grumbling about how much makeup costs though.
