The National Electrical Code (NEC)should be available at the library. I use a formula of 3 watts per square foot of habitable living space. This should be sufficient to handle outlets and lighting. Also, outlets should be placed so that no point on any wall is more than 6' horizontally from an outlet. ALL, second-hand info, such as mine should ALWAYS be confirmed with the county inspection department and/or a licensed electrician. If the info is correct with them then you look smart. If it is incorrect blame it on me.
