Not the ones that sell trinkets, electronics and out of date make-up. More along the lines of old farm stuff and primitives. They also would like some paper shell pecans to take back. Yes I have had Ace and other independents allow me to run a tab. Trying to finish a task that may require 2 or 3 trips to the store or any number of circumstances. I just try to not be the typical surly customer complaining that I could get that part cheaper at another store. Take the time to get to know them. I don't know these people on East Paulding and wouldn't dare just walk in and ask for something on my word.

Don't get me wrong, 'cause I shop HD, however if I had an Ace or another mom & pop's hardware near me I would shop there for what I could. It may be slightly higher in cost, but the rapport you tend to build with these folks is priceless. They are the backbone of what built this country and fairly or unfairly they have been put out of business by the big chains. If they refuse to keep themselves or their employees away from family after hours or on holidays just so you can shop for a new toilet seat or begonias because you already have the day off then good for them.
