We flew in a C130 on Employer's Day (one of my guys is in the Reserve) and we buzzed downtown Atlanta, Stone Mountain and Kennesaw Mountain. They let us move around in the back and stand up in the cockpit. It was great!

I pay my alarm company, Security Center of Georgia, $12.50/month and it works really well. Never had any problems in the over 20 years I've used them. It really gets me how some alarm companies think that having a local company that "knows the streets in your neighborhood" makes any difference. I would prefer having the monitoring elsewhere. There have been stories of local companies hiring workers who have accomplices who case the homes they monitor and then turn their heads when the alarm goes off while their buds are robbing the homes. Like I'm going to have my alarm system monitore

Or in the words of the 'Kimmer', "Remember to FALL BACK November 1st and SPRING FORWARD next Spring! Don't forget to set your clocks back on hour to FALL BACK into Winter."

We've never been on Daylight SavingS time, so I guess some people are really going to be confused come Saturday night. We've got meetings weekly this month that continue into next month. Apparently, Europe has a similar time shift, but it doesn't go back to standard time at the same time as ours does. So one week the meeting starts at 8AM, the next week at 9AM, and the following week at 8AM. I guess that's so it's the same time of day for the European folks. So this isn't just a 'stupid American' time shift on our clocks.

Surely, someone on here can lookup, or knows someone who can, the License plate number and find out who this irresponsible driver is. -
Yeah, we used to go there quite often. We also used to take our friends and family there (with us being Irish). But I just will not eat in an establishment where there's smoking. You might as well be eating out of an ashtray. I will try some of these other Karaoke places that are Family Friendly. Us, our children and grandkids love to sing karaoke, and the longer we stay there, the more money we spend there.

I got the swine flu shot in 1976 when the federal government mandated that everyone get the shot. (I kept thinking of Big Brother coming out and looking for those without the vaccination). I got really sick then and I haven't had a flu shot since. Of course, I haven't had the flu either so I'll take my chances.

We had better hope that the Chinese continue to have faith in the American Dollar and don't call our debt immediate due and payable. Do you know how to speak Chinese???? -

It just tickles me to hear some of these analysts using percentage gains and losses on the radio and TV - but they don't have a clue. (They need to take a class on statistics.) They want to make it sound like everything has recovered. Let me give you some round numbers for example. The DOW was 14,000 and dropped to 7,000. They say it dropped 50% (which it did). Now they're saying that the DOW has increased by 50% - trying to make it sound like everything is back. Except a 50% increase of that 7000 is only 10,500. For the DOW to get back to where it was would require a 100% increase -

I feel worse for the fellow that I saw on my way into work at dark thirty this morning hanging onto the back of the garbage truck, picking up stinky, heavy, wet garbage in the pouring down rain.

You mean Rockmart Hwy, Jimmy Lee Smith Pkwy, Wendy Bagwell Pkwy, CH James Pkwy? -
This is something states regulate, as they should - not the federal government. Driving isn't a right but a privilege and there should be certain laws in place to keep the roads safe. If you don't like the laws, move to a state that goes along with your way of thinking. That's the way a lot of the laws should be, but the federal government tries to stick it's neck in where it doesn't belong. You might not think they do, but there's this thing about federal funding that is pretty much the same thing as mandating certain behavior - that is if the state wants the money. How many people would

Wally's Wedding Night At 78 years of age, Wally married Anne, a lovely 25 year old. Since her new husband is so old, Anne decides that after their wedding she and Wally should have separate bedrooms, because she is concerned that her new but aged husband may overexert himself if they spend the entire night together. After the wedding festivities Anne prepares herself for bed and the expected 'knock' on the door... Sure enough the knock comes, the door opens and there is Wally, her 78 year old groom, ready for action. They unite as one. All goes well, Wally takes l

We tried a new place to eat tonight
Can you hear me now? replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Agreed. I think the owners established these places in different names (different sets of books) so if one went under the other could survive. I kept hearing a rumor that they were going to open an "Island Breeze" in Paulding county somewhere around Hiram. Haven't heard anymore about it lately. Has anyone tried the newly opened Catfish den yet? We went there a week ago and they had different owners (they have a diner in Marietta) and the menu is a lot different, although some of the waitresses working there also worked there before it closed. -

I've got a Health Rider that looks brand new. It works well, but at our house it does it's best work holding clothes. -
Instead of each step paying a different note like a regular keyboard they could make each step play a note in a song that they could change everyday. That would keep it fresh and people guessing what the name of the song is. People could compete in how many steps did would take to 'name that tune'.

Why take a cruise? over a standard trip?
Can you hear me now? replied to bvrat5199's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We've done about 15 cruises so far and I've enjoyed every one of them. The travel agent even made the mistake of booking us on the same ship with the same itinerary for our next cruise and we still enjoyed it. These ships are so large that it takes about a week for you to see all of the ship anyway. And with 2000-3000 people on board I rarely run into anyone that I've seen before. The only way that happens is maybe at the dinner table or maybe at certain lounges or libraries on board. You really have to make a point of hooking up with someone you just met to tour an island together or whatever -
Just wait a few weeks and see how many people refer to it as 'Daylight Savings Time'. It's Daylight SAVING Time - no S on the end of Saving. Another one that gets me are people that say the interstate as 'I was getting on THE 285...". Where did that THE come from? I-75 South - south of Macon is Cordele - 'Cor DEAL', not 'Cor DELL'. South of there it's Arabi - 'AIR a bee', not 'a RAB e' In Georgia it's Houston - 'HOUSE ton', not 'HUE ston'
