  1. When my wife and I got married I was blessed with two wonderful step-daughters. But we also wanted a child by the two of us as well. We tried, and we lost our child - twice. We know that we'll see them in heaven one day. We got through it knowing that and that one day soon we'll be able to love and enjoy our grandchildren. And now, we have five wonderful grandchildren who we've been blessed with to carry us over until we see our own, one day.
  2. Is everyone going to Treat or Treat tonight since it's going to be raining Saturday night?
  3. I don't know if replacing bulbs with CFL's really makes a difference. I mean, it should since they're supposed to consume less electricity. I've always been told to gradually replace all of your bulbs and save the planet. Well, I thought I would replace mine all at once and see the difference immediately. However, now I know why they say to replace them gradually. BECAUSE IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER! After replacing every single bulb in my house with CFL's they was no change in my light bill. It's just as high (as far as KW consumed, not cost) as it was the same month last year. I don't kno
  4. I was going to check the scanner archives but that's been changed and now they charge for a membership to hear the archives. What a rip!
  5. says they voted for Obama and wants government run health care.
  6. I drive back and forth to Alpharetta at least 2 days a week. The other days I work from home. But I don't really mind the 1.25 hr commute since I really love my job. If I decided to quit I'd sell my house and move to the beach somewhere.
  7. Whew! I thought this was a thread about something being wrong with my NIHI Grape Soda!
  8. At least if you win the Carnivore Challenge they give you $250.
  9. They need the splotlights to help them find the maze.
  10. Note to self - Don't complain about the Bar-B-Que.
  11. Well, if you "do" care for buffets then they're pretty good. This Ryan's is a little different than the other Ryan's. You can get your steak cooked and cut just like you want, etc. And to top that all off, they got a 93/A on their health score earlier this week. I just wish there was a Mexican buffet close by for dinner.
  12. That's $1000 an ounce for 24K. Gold teeth are probably only 10K at the very best. Anything greater would be too soft.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't tryv to pull the "Obama" costume.
  14. They make it sound like there is no one developing viruses for a Mac.
  15. There have been some phone calls lately from a "deputy sheriff" who is doing fund raising. I doubt Paulding's finest would ever see any of that money though...
  16. I wonder what happens to these new hires once the stimulus money runs out...
  17. One time, with our alarm company, our married daughter had come over to our house to do some laundry. She had disarmed the house alarm with her own code. However, she was unaware that the alarm company had been working on my codes and had reset the position of her code to the 'Hostage' code. So she's sitting in the living room and the dog starts to bark. She looks out the window and the lawn is now covered with cop cars. They come up to the door and ask if everything is alright. While listening to her they are looking through the crack of the door at the hinge, looking for someone hiding
  18. I wonder when they'll begin building the Shearin Historic International Terminal at the Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport?
  19. It will still be the same great people, if and when it happens. And I've been with Wachovia since the took over First Union. ============================================== Wells Fargo & Co. bought Wachovia Bank nearly a year ago, yet the giant lender still isn't saying exactly when it will put its name on Wachovia's 106 Central Florida branch offices. The San Francisco-based bank, one of the nation's largest lenders, insists it isn't in a rush to replace a familiar brand with its own. Some banking analysts question the bank's reticence, particularly after JPMorgan Chase renamed its
  20. I appreciate people who park their vehicles there. It just means that I don't have to worry about whether my empty shopping cart will roll into traffic since I will park it up against any vehicle in a no-parking/gore area. I know some people must be parking there as a courtesy to other shoppers to keep us from having to push our cart inside, or to a cart coral. They are so nice to leave their vehicles parked in such a convenient spot that will keep carts from rolling into traffic.
  21. They face up to six years in prison and a fine of as much as $500,000 on each of two felony counts. The sheriff's office could also seek restitution for the costs associated with the search-and-rescue operations.
