  1. I am against the program because it is bad for the country. I don't believe that the govt has any business running health care, and I don't think that this is a sustainable plan. Just because it is something that benefits me doesn't mean it is the right thing to do. It would benefit me for the govt to write us all a one million dollar check. Doesn't mean it's right or good for the country.
  2. It is happening to me, I may benefit from it, doesn't make it the right thing to do.
  3. Again, you stand behind something that will hurt the country just because Obama was re-elected. So you would rather be the "winner" than do what is best for the country. And again, the Republicans aren't saying do away with it, they are saying delay it until we can implement it better OR not at all.
  4. We're in Alabama, so I don't know what Alabama did. I still haven't been able to get through to apply to see what it says.
  5. It's a crime to enact legislation on a partisan basis that the majority of the country does not support.
  6. When I did ours last week for my husband and I to be on, with just my income, since he in unemployed, and our 2 kids on medicaid would be over $250 a month (subsidy already included). I don't have $250 a month to put towards it, so my only option is to have no insurance and pay a penalty (which I also can't afford)
  7. The democrats are demanding funding for Obamacare at the expense of the ENTIRE govt. Republicans are willing to fund the ENTIRE govt if they can just DELAY Obamacare. You can look at it however you want, but if the Dems wanted to end it all they could easily.
  8. The house passed MANY bills that provided several options to funding the government. They asked for concessions on Obamacare, not to repeal, but to slow down the bus, and to treat the individual as all others have been treated. The democrats in the senate refuse to budge. The democrats are not willing to compromise. It's all or nothing for them. The house has put together bills to fund parks and other things one at a time, but it's blocked by dems. At this point they look like the bitter little children.
  9. The best place for families hands down to me is Pinnacle Port, as long as you can find a well maintained condo unit. There are two pools, playground, fishing in the inlet, and the beaches are never crowded. We went twice this year, in April the water was crystal clear but on the chilly side. In September the water was warm, but there was a lot of seaweed and it was only swimable one day out of the three we were there.
  10. In regards to pay, most of the workers will get back pay once it's back up and running. Some govt contractors (I have 2 friends this applies to) are staying at home and ARE being paid.
  11. I'm trying again this morning, but I'm in a holding pattern yet again.
  12. I try to focus only on important news. Vandalism isn't high on my list.
  13. The 10 year projection for Obamacare is that 30 million will still be uninsured. So it's not even taking care of the uninsured issues.
  14. Good to know. I wonder if it's just for public beaches in Alabama. The places we've been in Florida are public and I don't think it's against the law to drink. I've seen plenty of people drinking and no one given a ticket. On a side note, Tuscaloosa suspends open container laws during football weekends. We got our priorities straight.
  15. You can still drive through the mountains and visit non-government attractions.
  16. You can't drink of the beach?!? I've never heard of that, but I don't go to the Alabama beaches. Is that a city ordinance? Next time go to Florida, you can drink all you want on the beaches.
  17. How much money did they waste printing signs and putting up fences?
  18. I finally got to the log in, and then it asked me to answer three security questions. The only issue was there were no questions to answer. The drop down didn't work so I couldn't put an answer.
  19. I've been trying all morning to apply but the websites have been down or busy.
  20. But it's part of the law, and we are picking and choosing what when implement and when we do it. So lets just slow down this giant snow ball and at least implement it when websites and information are ready.
  21. Aint that the truth. Although I've been in rural southern Alabama for a year now, and I have met many welcoming nice people, and very few snobs or ignorant rednecks. Just good country people. If I have my choice this is where I will make my long term home.
  22. You have told 3 people participating in that thread that you weren't referring to them. So I have to assume you must have just blocked a random poster. Bless your heart. The employer mandate was delayed. Why is it unrealistic to also delay it for the individual?
  23. http://paulding.com/forum/index.php/topic/304482-is-the-health-act-affordable/page__st__240__p__3843245__hl__%2Bjudgmental+%2Bbitch__fromsearch__1?do=findComment&comment=3843245 We might need to check your med levels. They are affecting your short term memory.
