  1. Republicans have asked to not repeal, but to delay the individual mandate just as it was delayed for big business. In my opinion, the president and the democrats are the ones that are not willing to negotiate and are willing to shut it down if they don't get their way. A way that a majority of the country does not agree with. They would rather pass it and win than delay it, fix it, and do what is best.
  2. That's one way to look at it, the other way would be to say the Democrats are willing to sink the ship rather than to delay the individual mandate and to take time to reevaluate a large piece of legislation that seems to have many unresolved issues.
  3. And die in Atlanta once again when Alabama wins another SEC Championship.
  4. I didn't want to put this in the political forum because I'd like a broad spectrum of thoughts. So I don't encourage partisan bickering, just who you think is to blame.
  5. I did two weddings with no planner. One my mom did a lot of the role of wedding planner, the other I did myself. I don't think it's worth the money, but I'm cheap and hate paying people to do things I can do myself.
  6. I have no p.com facebook overlap. No one on P.com wants to be my real life friend.
  7. I was raised in Ohio, southern Ohio, but still Ohio. I've lived in the south for the past 17 years. I've married into 2 different southern families and have never felt like "the yankee", but that's probably because I embrace all things southern and feel like I fit in better in the south than I ever did in the north. The one thing that I think still marks me as a yankee is sarcasm and being blunt. I tend to say what I think and assume people will know I'm joking or that they'll get over it. I'm a little more brash then your normal southern girl, but I don't think anyones ever thought of me as a
  8. Much like the Big Boy it was never really gone.
  9. Seems to be a common thing for her, make statements without knowing the actual situation.
  10. I'm reading an interesting one right now, but it's not new. I think It's called the Know It All about a guy who reads the encyclopedia. I think it came out several years ago. The one I finished before that was Democracy In America Part I, definitely not a light read. Up next is the last book by my favorite author Maeve Binchey. She's an Irish author, wrote Circle of Friends and Tara Road. I love all her books.
  11. In my land I would ban it, but since I'm lazy and have no value I will never have my own land. It's a preference.
  12. I don't work my butt off? The companies I work for not providing insurance has nothing to do with the value of my work. I have worked for small businesses since I graduated from college. It's not feasible for these companies to provide insurance. I don't claim that is your fault, but saying someone is lazy or not worthy because of the type of business they work in shows your butt, not mine. I would put my work ethic up against anyone. Bless your heart, I pray you never know what it's like to walk in my shoes.
  13. You're lucky. I have never had a job that offers health care, I have been lucky up until this last job, that my husbands job has covered me. Not everyone is that lucky.
  14. I don't equate tattooing makeup on with facial tattoos. I'd never do it, but it's a little different than having various phrases, numbers, tear drops, symbols etc. Again, I don't discount you as a person, I'm sure you're wonderful. I personally don't care to see artwork on peoples faces. I also don't like excessive piercings or blue eye shadow.
  15. Thankfully I'm a hot republican. I'm sure there are things about me that people dislike, and I'm cool with that. We all have our preferences. If we all had head, neck, face, finger, wrist, or hand tattoos how would the rebels rebel?
  16. My issue is that my husband just lost his job. But even had he not, neither his company or mine offer health insurance coverage. We paid for a personal plan for my husband and daughter, but I am only eligible for a major medical plan due to my weight. Now that my husband has lost his job we qualify for our children to be on medicaid, but he still has to pay close to $200 for his policy, and mine is $75. The way it stands now we can just not pay those policies and hope for the best. Come January we will HAVE to pay wither through the exchange or as a tax penalty. Either way I can't afford it an
  17. If I were Queen I would ban visible tattoos when clothed in modest clothing. But I'm not queen so I can't dictate that. So it really doesn't matter what I think.
  18. I make too much for medicaid, but I cannot afford $250 a month, which is what it will cost for my husband and I on the exchange. So I guess I go without insurance and pay the tax on my income for the penalty for not having insurance.
  19. But what happens to those that can't afford the mandate?
  20. Because it disturbs my freedom to be able to not have to see things that gross me out.
  21. I support this. I wish we could ban all neck, hand, face, head tats. I don't really have an issue with them anywhere else, but to me, if you have tats in those places you have no interest in being a productive member of society.
  22. So you would think it would be better to roll over and take it rather than stand for your beliefs?
  23. My understanding is that if your state does not set up an exchange there is a federal exchange that you will participate in. But I don't have proof of that.
