  1. They just opened a "Pig Store" as my daughter calls in in Columbia, AL. And there is one in Headland. We don't normally go to either of those stores though because the IGA is more convenient. I know the one in Headland is owned by a local man, so I guess he just bought the franchise.
  2. Yes, and it would increase what I am covered for I think, but it would lower what my husband is covered for. Which would increase our out of pocket overall. So we're pretty low on the income scale and we'll be paying more and covered less. Precisely. I'm not required to pay what I have now. So if I don't pay it I don't have coverage. How will I pay for something I can't afford?
  3. That's the portion it says I would pay, which is 32% of my income. Assuming my husband doesn't find something quickly
  4. According to the calculator to cover my husband and I it will be $250 (roughly) a month. I can't afford that. So what do I do?
  5. Oops, I meant Medicaid for the girls. They have similar things to Georgia to cover the kids. So I'm not worried about them. Not sure about us as adults. I'm kind of waiting to see what happens as of Oct 1st, but that won't go into effect until January 1st? I guess we just need to stay healthy for the next 3 months.
  6. I don't know what will happen with us. My husband just lost his job, we have a policy that we pay for that covers our girls and him, and then a major medical for me. The girls can get on Medicare. I'm assuming my husband and I will sign up for the exchange, but being down to one income I don't think we can afford anything. We don't have luxuries. We have cell phones because we don't have a home phone and I need my cell phone for work. I need internet to work from home. Beyond that we pay for food and utilities and we're gonna be in the hole. God has always seen us through hard times, so I'm ju
  7. When I had my house in Marietta I once got a letter from the HOA. My husband had been out of the country for 2 months and I was working full time and taking care of the house. The grass got a little out of hand, but I got it mowed before getting a reprimand. The grass had been long so there were a lot of clippings on the driveway. I come home the day after I cut the grass and there is a note in my mailbox telling me that I had 24hours to clear away the clippings in my driveway and on the sidewalk or I would face a fine. I didn't clear them, they didn't fine me.
  8. About a year ago I had the once over, had a spot on the back of my leg that worried me. She gave me the all clear, and said the spot of the back of my leg was from scar tissue that had formed a lump. She said they could remove it but it likely would just form again from the removal. She gave me a better understanding on what to look for myself. I tan pretty easily, but I've had my fair share of burns. I still forget to use sunscreen most of the time. Once I get a base tan I don't burn so I don't have painful reminders to put the sunscreen on.
  9. I think it all depends on the kid. I was very capable of driving on any type of roadway by the time I was 16. Back when I got my license in Ohio you had a weeks worth of classroom time (not sure how many hours) and then you had to have 8 hours in the car with an instructor. You got your permit when you turned 16, and then once you completed the classes and in car time you could take your test. I turned 16 in August and got my license in October. My parents always let me practice in parking lots and when I got my permit I drove most places we went. I felt very comfortable on interstates and bac
  10. My link Pay attention to the local council election in November. There is a candidate running who isn't happy with the cities decision either.
  11. To you or Pubby, does Paulding.com plan on covering any of the candidates running for Hiram City council in November?
  12. I was saying there was no mention of the candidate running for the city council that is opposed to the councils decision. Not that the subject hadn't been discussed here. I just don't know if I'm allowed to link patch.com articles.
  13. I guess she's looking in the same mirror that others look in when they walk out in public with half their ass hanging out.
  14. It's from Upworthy.com. I prefer not to get my news from a self professed biased source.
  15. There is a local election of Hiram City Council in November. There is one candidate that has already stated that this is an important issue to her. You might want to look into it. There was an article about her on Patch.com a couple weeks ago, but I haven't seen mention of it here on this site as of yet.
  16. If your BIL and friends are just going to let her come and go she'll do it. Probably need to see about getting at least some sort of custody order so the mom can't just take the kids. If he's still married to her your BIL might want to try the involuntary commitment route.
  17. Yes, me and my ilk. I would actually benefit from Obamacare. I would get insurance coverage. I would probably pay little for it. BUT IT IS NOT THE GOVERNMENTS JOB TO INSURE ME. The Govt does not need to be involved in health insurance. Period. It would also be great for me if the Govt wrote us all million dollar checks. Doesn't mean I would support them doing it.
  18. It is asinine that a majority of the people are against the legislation yet it is being pushed on us. At what point are we going to stop this? If you're ok with being told what to do despite it being against the majority of the country not wanting it then go live under a dictatorship. I guess you're fine with the ruin of the country just to be right.
  19. I don't know about TN, but I know in Georgia you can go to the probate judge in the county where they reside and have a hearing to have the person involuntarily committed. It will take testimony from many people saying the same thing, but it can be done. They will then be sent to a state hospital for evaluation.
  20. I don't really care what he looks like. I just find it interesting that in the amount of radio coverage that I've listened to never once did they mention his race. Based on the type of crime I had a mental image of what this man looked like, and I was kinda shocked when I googled and found my assumption to be wrong. Hell, I even heard some police chatter as bumper to one radio show and they described the shooter as a man, but didn't mention his race. Seems an important thing to include in the description when describing him in the heat of the moment. I just thought it was an interest
  21. I had a busy night last night, and day today. I work from home, but I rarely turn the TV on during the day. I listen to various talk radio throughout the day to get news. All day I've been hearing about this shooter Aaron Alexis. Finally I decided to google image search the guy. Turns out he's black. How did I miss that? All day I've had a mental image of a white male. I guess it's because white males tend to commit this particular type of violence.
  22. I heard about this the other day but hadn't seen the receipt until now. The name of the person and their card number is on the receipt. I would like to know if they actually wrote that on there.
  23. Has she never had to fill out standardized tests?
  24. If that's a case, Pubby could just be shaking down local business owners to buy membership to avoid bad press on his site.
