  1. Thanks, I will check them out!
  2. I think we may buy another car and I'd like recommendations for a good used dealership. I'm scared we are going to buy a POS from a slick dealer. We are also looking at and considering some cars from individuals, but we don't want to rush into a decision. We aren't even 100% on buying another. It is 50/50 whether we buy or fix our current second car.
  3. I do, too. Maybe that would make people think twice next time they dismember someone or "stew" someone as some of the gangs do in Texas and Mexico. I am not a heartless person, but these people that would be eligible to be sentenced to death are animals. They are not human and don't deserve to be treated like one. No one would have to worry about the death penalty if someone harmed my children...I would take care of it myself with no remorse whatsoever.
  4. When you say lock them up and throw away the key, do you mean not to open the door and feed them, pay for them to take showers and eat, etc? Because leaving someone to rot and die in a cell is a death sentence, which I would agree with. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions on the death penalty. I respect those that do not believe in it and respect their beliefs of why they are against it. But I can't understand how anyone against it is okay with their taxes supporting these people incapable of being rehabilitated or living among society. And it is sad that many prisoners live better
  5. Okay, I'll say it...yes, I believe in it, and I think if there is certain proof that someone murdered another person without being provoked (i.e. an abused woman kills her husband, a sexually abused child kills their parent/molester, etc, etc) then I think they should be put to death...and pretty quickly. I don't believe in keeping these people in our prisons and wasting our valuable resources and money. People in prisons can watch tv, play games, read books, etc. Why should they be allowed to do that after they take a life? There is a man that used to spend a lot of time with my family. My st
  6. I have a Mr. Coffee iced tea maker. It's one of my favorite appliances ever. No need to boil water, use a coffee maker (how I used to make tea), or worry about any cooling. I only have the 1/2 gallon maker, but I have to use 8 tea bags (regular). I put 3/4-1 cup of sugar. 8 bags sounds like a lot for 2 qt, but I think it is just because of how the tea maker makes the tea. I haven't tried using less. Suppose I could. But anyway, I have iced tea ready to drink within 5 minutes. Can't beat it.
  7. It is really annoying, isn't it!? I just think of pee when they say her name. LOL.
  8. Hmm...that is strange! I think these cars commonly have issues with overheating. Usually, though, people can fix it by replacing something. It seems like your daughter's is like mine...stubborn. Luckily, the car was given to me by my mom. One strange thing about ours, though, is that it does not seem to overheat in the winter time, only in the warmer weather. I've never known it to overheat when it's really cold.
  9. Yes, she was in the original. I hate her name on the show, though. When I hear it, I think blood, urea, nitrogen...BUN is a lab value. It just really annoys me. I loved the Witches of Eastwick movie, though. I used to watch it all the time when I was younger.
  10. LOL! That is funny because we have the same car. I think same year, too. Our other car is a Chrysler van and we haven't had any major problems with it, and it has 160k on it. I think Pontiacs just suck.............
  11. Anyone still watching it? After the 3rd or 4th episode, I began to lose my interest. The past 2 episodes have really done it for me. I don't think I'll be watching anymore. I don't know...the show is lacking something or has too much of something. I can't put my finger on it, but it had potential to be a good show, but for me they have blown it. The ratings are apparently not good, either, and it's believed it will be canceled, but that is just what I read. I wouldn't be surprised, though. And I think Van Horn is a terrible actor for the part. He just doesn't fit the part to me.
  12. I've had horrible luck with dishes. They either get broken from being mishandled, heat from the dishwasher, or they get fire hot in the microwave when they are supposed to be microwave safe. I had some red ones from Target that actually would turn BLACK in the microwave after just 30 seconds or so. I finally gave up and got Corelle (found at Wal-mart) and have only had 1 broken plate during the 2 years I have had it, and that was because I slammed it on the edge of the counter in a rage. Lol...... I got the plain white kind, which I regret now, but they have a pink flower design that was s
  13. I feel sooo bad. I was planning on sending one out today and it just completely slipped my mind. I'm going to go and make one with my son tonight and mail it out in the morning. I do wonder, though...it always says they are celebrating "this weekend," but what weekend is that? THIS one? Because I thought the email had been out for a week or two now. Either way, we will send a card and hopefully he will stick around to read it. I'm sure he will love getting a handmade one from another boy his age.
  14. I was just talking about this recently with a friend. I LOVE that they are wearing them...hopefully GOODBYE dirty boxer butts hanging out.
  15. I don't think the coolant ends up on the ground...I've never seen any.
  16. Thanks! I know "this too shall pass," but it's just hard because we have not been this broke in a long time. Come to think of it, we are this broke once a year every year...the holidays! I think I am just stressing out and letting that magnify everything.
  17. Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to wait until my husband wakes up and talk to him. I'm just being an emotional pregnant girl right now...letting money troubles worry me.
  18. I just don't know what to do and need some input or something... Our second car had an issue with overheating. Sometimes it would do it every time we drove, and other times it would go a few weeks or a while without doing it. It got to the point that it wasn't worth driving it as the coolant we were pouring into it was $$$. We had a mechanic look at it and we were told that it was the intake gasket. We spent $580 getting that replaced. We were so happy and relieved when we got the car back. We thought we finally had a second running car again and that we would never have to worry abou
  19. This is sooo sad. What a sweet little boy...he must have a huge heart and a mind beyond his years to want nothing but Christmas cards. My son and I will make him a card and send it off to him. How sad for the family...
  20. I think the coolest thing we got was a pass redeemable for 2 Thrashers game tickets...you can pick one of two dates. We don't like to watch sports, but we did go to a Thrasher's game last year and loved it. Unfortunately, we probably will not be able to use the pass.
  21. LOL! I love reading The Sun...they have the best stuff.
  22. I find it interesting because I do not think she looks much different. Of course her body does, but as far as the face goes...I see the results of a brow lift maybe, and few other minor procedures. To me, she just looks like she put some heavy makeup on and changed her brows. IMO, she looked better before. I think she looks like a hooker now. Yuck. And the doctor mentions that he isn't perfect and was born with a large nose and had it fixed. Really...is that all that needs fixing? I could point out several things. He sure seems full of himself.
  23. I guess if neither of them mind, then whatever. But I personally think she is stupid beyond belief...obviously desperate. Not saying I wouldn't love to have a plastic surgeon husband (how handy that would be...I am not against plastic surgery at all), but this is totally different. Warning...this pic contains a wet t-shirt picture... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2707453/Doctor-weds-dowdy-girl-then-builds-himself-his-ideal-wife.html
  24. One of our cars had an issue with overheating. We didn't drive it for a while. It wasn't a big issue since my husband works nights and only 3 days per week, so we didn't really feel the pain of not having it to drive. However, my son started pre-k in September, so unless we wanted him to be late one day out of the week by an hour, we needed to get it fixed. We spent $580 getting the intake gasket replaced as that it was was diagnosed to be the problem. Well, my husband has only driven it maybe 200 miles a few times back and forth to work. He called me today. It overheated and he was stra
