  1. Wow...that is just terrible, and the things that they took...so weird. I'm so sorry that happened. If I were in your shoes (no pun intended ), I would probably suspect a neighbor or someone really close by. It just sounds too weird. I hope they figure out who did it.
  2. I wouldn't call 911, but I certainly wouldn't hesitate to call the police. I just really do not want neighborhood drama, so I haven't gone there yet. But I WILL NOT be able to handle this when the new baby comes. I need my sleep enough now as it is with them barking...but with a third baby I won't be able to function at all.
  3. Hey, it would be nice to get the 8k tax credit my newest neighbors are getting in small claims court. JK...I really do not want to approach any of these families since they have already been approached and asked a few times with no success...I have kids to look out for and I don't know these people or what they might do if I ask them to keep their dog quiet. I think I will leave them anonymous notes explaining and asking them to change the situation and make an effort. My husband has offered to talk to them, but he really does not have an even temper when dealing with people like that.
  4. Thanks...I will probably have my husband handle all of it if we decide to do anything. I don't want to get people fined, but at the same time...if several other people have approached them and asked in a nice manner that they do something whether it be keeping them inside more or getting a bark collar, then obviously they are not going to change. To me, they are lazy pet owners.
  5. Do you know what the rules are for the city?
  6. Several of my neighbors in all directions (I'm on a corner) have dogs that bark ALL day (and at each other, which makes it even more annoying). They have been approached nicely about this (though, not by me or DH) and all basically refuse to do anything. This has been going on for over a year. It is rare that I do not hear a dog barking. When I go outside, I can definitely count on the dogs barking at the kids the entire time we are outside. I have owned dogs. I know they bark. But a dog barking all day long for no reason is not acceptable. They don't even go outside and tell their dogs to
  7. Um...ACTUALLY, a lot of insurance policies DO pay out on suicides. BUT...the catch is that you have to had had the policy for a certain period of time. Most policies require you have had the policy for 2 years. But it is entirely a myth that they do not pay out on suicides. So...technically, you could purchase a policy and kill yourself 2 years later and your family would be paid. I forget why, but I believe there have been court rulings that led to insurance companies having to pay out for suicides. Call the particular company you are wanting to buy a policy with and ask (funny, huh? Lol).
  8. I've been in the same boat for years! I always have had Uniden phones. My dad had a set that lasted for YEARS and hardly ever went dead on me. I can't seem to learn my lesson, though, because I keep buying crap Uniden phones that do NOT last or hold charge.
  9. I would do one on Denmark. Denmark fascinates me, especially the way they live now. I would love to go there.
  10. That sounds so easy and good! I think I will try that tomorrow.
  11. I'm glad you mentioned that, because most people assume that people just steal because they want something for free or because they are bad people. Many of those that do it habitually were taught as children to do it for relatives. Even after they enter adulthood, it is hard for them to see that it is wrong because they have been doing it all of their life. They actually showed a model of the brain of a habitual thief and that of a crack addict. The thief's brain was even more damaged looking than the crack addict!
  12. Yes, never pay to sign up for anything like that. But I'm sure you've learned your lesson! There are quite a few legitimate ways to make money from home, though, with different companies.
  13. Those are most likely habitual shoplifters. It is pathetic, but they really have mental issues going on and it has nothing to do with the item they are swiping or lack of funds, etc. They are mentally ill and it is like a drug addiction. Some of those people can be saved via getting caught or just simply getting help mentally, but sadly a majority of them will always at least occasionally do it no matter how many times they get caught or how much money they have. I feel bad for them...they need counseling.
  14. Free is nice! Lol! I know that Gavin misses coming. Sometimes he would ask when we drove by if he got to go to karate that day. It's just been so hectic with Tyler being older and Gavin starting pre-k...it is harder for me to have the energy to do much pregnant. And, of course, we are poor right now.
  15. It ended up okay...they did end up splitting the cupcakes, so half ate Gavin's and half ate the other boy's. I am just fine with that! As long as my little man gets his cupcakes on his day...
  16. It's my oldest son's birthday today, and I offered to make tacos. He *loves* tacos...every time I make them he jumps up and down. Lol. So, tacos for us.
  17. I go to Wal-mart. Since I'm still not coupon savvy, I'm definitely not into Kroger. I find Kroger to be expensive, as well as Ingles, and don't even get me started on Food Lion. I wanted to pass out while I was there. There were frozen dinners there for $3.99 and up that you can get for $2.50 or just a tad more at Wal-mart and even Kroger.
  18. Yep! We actually lied to his family and told them I was 18, so whenever I had a birthday for the next like 2 years, I was a year older. My mom didn't have a problem with it and my dad didn't either (but my dad likes them young, so he can't bash his own preference!), but my stepdad did until he met him. But I don't think he met him until after we found out I was pregnant. We got pregnant the very first time we were "together," so it was only about 6 or 7 weeks afterward that I found out. People think we just got married because I was pregnant, though, and that's not true. He actually propose
  19. March 10, 2004. We met online. We met on one of those dumb rating and dating sites. Lol. I was only 17 and a whole half, but I enjoyed the humor that goes along with those types of sites. My friends and I used to get a kick out of them. One day I was looking in Georgia for some odd reason (I lived in South Carolina) and after a few funny profiles, I saw my husband's. I stared at him forever. I just knew we were going to be together and I hadn't even met or talked to him yet. I just knew it, though. I added him as a match and he added me back. He sent me a message with his screen name and we
  20. He definitely knows who you are...Gavin doesn't forget people
  21. I'm just wondering how he is going to act after eating tons of cake and ice cream! We're going to have a LOT of cake for just 4 people, but I had to get a certain size for them to make it a "special" cake with the Batman kit. Lol. Maybe we should eat the cake and open the presents *before* we go play somewhere. Yes, that is a positive side to it. I just don't want him to feel bad because he went to school thinking it was about him and that he would get to share his cupcakes with everyone on his birthday. Just hope he doesn't feel sad about it! And honestly, I would not have sent him
  22. Thank you! I'm thinking of posting a pic of him, but I'm not sure yet. I think he's good looking too, but I'm partial.
