  1. This is very alarming. I mean, yeah, there is always potential for this to be some sort of misunderstanding, but this screams red flag. If so many people have seen him following school buses and acting suspiciously, that is a very good reason to be alarmed. It sounds to me like he is following buses either waiting for a child to be caught walking off alone or watching to observe the homes they go into...maybe so that he can be assured they are home alone after school so that one day he can snatch them up or knock on the door. You would certainly never want to jump to conclusions and accus
  2. I had absolutely no credit up until a year ago. I applied for a card, was denied due to lack of credit history (no surprise there), but then I started getting offers weekly in the mail. It started out being like $250 limits but kept increasing. I never opened any accounts until Bank of America offered me a $4,500 limit with 0% for the first year, then 2% after. I accepted the offer and transferred most of DH's debt to it. I have no idea why they throw credit card offers at me now, but I would suggest trying to get one w/ your bank.
  3. Well, forgive me, but it's no one's responsibility to pay for your vacation. I'm not trying to be mean or nasty, but it's no one's issue but your own what your living expenses are and the fact you cannot save. I am about to have 3 kids and we are not rich by any means. We have not taken a vacation to stay overnight anywhere since our honeymoon. Our "vacation" last summer was a few hours at the beach. That's it! It's not the taxpayer's issue that I have (or soon will) 3 kids and need a break. I VERY MUCH need a break...and a vacation, and a lot of other things. But saying this EIC is a good thi
  4. Woke up really late with only 15 minutes to get my son dressed and off to preschool. He is Star Student this week, and I forgot to dress him in green! I realized it when I got home. I decided to let it go, but I just couldn't stop thinking about it. I went and took him a green shirt, so I feel like a not-so-terrible mommy now. But half the kids weren't wearing green, and he had enough green icing on his face from the cupcakes they were eating to make up for it.
  5. Don't forget huffing... Fingernail polish, gasoline, markers, paint, glue, air duster, whip-its, etc. Also choking games, etc. Huffing is extremely dangerous, obviously,...but kids do it because it is cheap and readily available just about anywhere. When I was in high school, some of the "best" kids were huffing and their parents had no clue. It's sad, but many parents are totally in the dark, and it's not their fault. Kids can be good at hiding things, and of course they probably aren't going to admit they are taking part in a dangerous activity. Most kids seem to think they're invin
  6. From watching the clip, I think she was referring to brushing her teeth before bed. Not brushing her teeth in general. Still gross, but I'm hoping that is what she meant and she at least brushes them in the morning.
  7. Well, that's not it at all for me. My best friend is a black guy, and he would feel the total opposite of how I feel about the video. I wouldn't want my kid dancing on the table to Britney's latest songs. It has nothing to do with race or the type of music. It's about being a responsible parent and not exposing your kid to things you wouldn't want them doing or repeating. But apparently they are proud of their kid dancing provocatively, and I suspect if the kid repeated the lyrics they would be okay with it. Just a hunch!
  8. I think what bothers me more than anything is how well the kid is dancing to it. It appears he/she has listened to the song and/or danced to it quite a bit. Just like some of the kids that were on Youtube dancing to the Beyonce video Single Ladies. Open your ears a bit more, though...B**** is said in that song several times. It's just that the kids in these types of videos are probably doing this type of thing quite often, and eventually those lyrics will be understood by them. But it's the parents I have the issue with. They keep that up, and I'd hate to see how the kid turns out. But, w
  9. I might be wrong on this, but I swear I thought the girl said "she" when referring to the baby. Maybe they just have a boy pull-up on it. If it is in fact a girl, I find that even worse. And the baby looks like it has tiny pigtails. I don't know, I suppose I would have to watch the video again... But yeah, this kid should really be learning its ABCs and 123s instead of dancing on a table to a mature song. But, oh well...people are going to do what they do with their kids...I sincerely hope that was not the mother who was filming that.
  10. While there is a comical element to that (and the kid obviously has some "talent," lol), I wonder what those parents/caregivers are thinking. The kid is dancing near the edge of a table with socks on, the moves are hardly appropriate for such a young baby to be imitating--no matter how cute or funny--nearly naked at that. But, as the camera holder said, "$hit...what the hell???" I will have to send this to my friend...he will get a real kick out of it and say my white baby couldn't do that and I'm just jealous.
  11. To do what? Pay for the stupid courthouse??? Gee whiz...$20/mo?? Insurance/taxes going up, water bill going up, health insurance going up, gas going up...it never ends, no surprise.
  12. Ours has been a little higher lately, but only by about 5 bucks.
  13. Thanks for the prayers for her. He owned a gun shop and never came home the other night. She called the police, they went to check on him at the shop, and he wasn't there. They found his car at an apartment complex, went back to the shop and found his body buried in the snow. A witness who saw a man at the gun shop earlier in the day gave a description, so I just hope they can find this person ASAP.
  14. I really think I have some sort of chronic anxiety. I think a lot of it probably has to do with my parents. My mom was always in a deep depression, and my dad is a huge worrier. Now I seem to have a bit of both. It has gotten worse the past few years. I grocery shop every 2 weeks, and it is a huge struggle for me. My heart races and I feel like I can't breathe. I can't seem to deal with the fact of 100 other people being around me trying to look at the same item, or the lady that randomly steps in front of you to grab something, or crowded aisles with no space to go around. Then there is
  15. I agree...no Keys. My friend lived there for a few years on Marathon. I visited her there, and it sucked. There really is not that much to do until you wait for the bars and clubs, and that's not family friendly. Plus...I would not swim in that water down there, ever. My friend got stung by a jellyfish, and every time you go over a bridge and look at the water, you can see TONS of sharks pretty close to the shore. Of course, people swim there all the time and don't get attacked, but it is just too creepy being able to see tons of sharks swimming around like that. Not my cup of tea
  16. Philly cheese steak sandwiches with onions, mushrooms, and put in the oven to crisp up the rolls and melt the provolone. I'm hungry.

    Toyota

I guess it was just a random, isolated incident, but on the way to the beach with my uncle, his wife, and my cousin about 6 or 7 years ago in their SUV (I don't remember what kind it was), he had the cruise control on and it suddenly started accelerating. He couldn't slow down...the brakes were not working. Luckily, after about 10 seconds he got it under control, but it was definitely a scary moment for everyone in the car. Luckily, there were not many people on the highway that day.
  18. I think she lives in Michigan, if I'm not mistaken. She just lost her job a couple of months ago, too. They had just bought a house right before she lost her job, so they were sort of having a hard time financially, and now this happens! She is also on the green team and doesn't know the sex, so I'm sure that makes things a bit harder for her...knowing he didn't know, and the tragedy that has happened has probably taken the excitement of finding out at the birth away...I feel so bad for her. She says she doesn't know how she is going to do anything...at all...not just parenting, but
  19. I am a member of an expecting club/forum and just read a terrible post by a member there. She has been a member since the beginning, as have I, and she is due just a few days ahead of me. I was just checking the forum and opened one of her posts...her husband was just murdered at his job. She is only a few weeks from giving birth and has to deal with this terrible, sudden thing that has happened to her. This was their first baby together, so I can't imagine how heartbroken she is to know he will never see their child they had hoped and prayed for... And to know it was an intentional act

    Death?

That is so sad...he was a very cute and sweet looking boy. So sad for the family and his friends.
  21. Condoms should definitely be used if you are going to cheat, but I also think oral should not be engaged in for obvious reasons. A lot of people seem to think oral sex is without risk. But then again, you can't expect someone to consider their partner's safety and health when they are out cheating on them.
  22. That is exactly why we just got rid of our other car and got another. We didn't have the money to waste trying to figure out the problem, so it just made more sense to get another car...just let it go last night, and I miss it...it's been really good to us.
  23. LOL...kidsandBUN.....I'd die if I were having twins. And they *really* run in my family, so I'm lucky. Lol. That's the thing...hubby said they had an expensive battery in it because they had loud speakers. They took that battery out and put a different one in it before we got it, so hubby thinks that it was a nearly dead one that they put in. I'm glad you have had good luck...makes me feel better. Good to know!! We got a 2004.
