Good luck!!!!!

I'd be out there with a sign telling customers not to use him and chanting. Even pregnant. Lol. He'd get the point that he needed to pay up when his customers stopped coming in.

That baby is going to come tomorrow because I said so! Did you ever call Scalini's about another meal?

Well, the person I know has nice, straight teeth, so I guess that is not him Whew...

I know someone who fits your physical description and truck description, even though it is pretty generic. This person has a temper, though. Did this person have facial hair? Anything characteristic about his teeth (this person would have normal, straight teeth).

Whew...VIN check saved us from a Craigslist deal

It's not exempt from emissions or registration. It is exempt from the odometer laws. -
After reading all the replies, you definitely should have called the cops. I still would. Perhaps they could see camera footage of what he did and get his license plate from parking lot surveillance. But there is NO WAY IN HELL I would have argued with him. HELLO, people...this man was obviously off his rocker. Who knows what he would have done had she decided to argue with him. He could have lost it and shot her. No way...not worth it.

Whew...VIN check saved us from a Craigslist deal

Ick...that is not a good story! I know, there are *so* many people on there that probably know their cars have issues and they're just selling them and being dishonest. But there are tons of good cars on there, too, from people that admit issues with their cars. It's such a 50/50 thing, and it *does* scare me. Most of the time, though, those types of people want to "meet" places instead of having you look at the car at their home. When hubby looked at the Toyota last night, he checked the guys license at his house to make sure he lived there, check the VIN on the dash and door to make sure the -

I'm still in denial that I'm having a 3rd boy and half thinking they are going to say it's a girl. I'm so stubborn. You don't know how many people asked me today while I was out if I was going to try again for a girl. I wanted to kick them in the face! One lady had a baby girl with her and said, "How many do you have?" I said I was having my third boy, and she goes, "Aw...I wanted 3 boys, but I got 2 boys and then a girl instead." Made me jealous...I think 2 boys and then a girl is the perfect combination, and everyone seems to have that combo. I told her we could trade. Perhaps it's a g

I didn't get a 32 week ultrasound this time like I did with my last 2. Doctor said we could come up with an excuse, but I didn't want to have a lie in my medical records, so I just let it go. My insurance is great and and all ultrasound imaging is free, but they still only allow 2 without medical reason. I had one at 7 weeks and 18 weeks. So I've been looking at elective places, and I found a really good deal at one in Woodstock. Peek-a-Belly They are running a Valentine's special for February. (They have packages as low as $60, though.) For $119, you get: 25-30 minute 3D/4D ultr

Well, since you owe so much on your hubby's, I guess you have no choice but to fix his. But if your car isn't worth much, it may just make more sense to buy another somehow. It seems a lot of us have had car issues lately. I remember back in November when my car finally broke beyond what I wanted to "invest" in it. I felt like it was the end of the world, but now we have a better car and just paid it off today! So hopefully there is a bright spot in the future for you. I was so depressed, and even after we bought the car I had so much anxiety about it...for about a month. But now I am gl

Whew...VIN check saved us from a Craigslist deal

That could be true about the dash, but I doubt it. It was literally a month after the mileage stopped having to be reported that the car was sold to this guy who has it now. I don't think he is the one who rolled it back. And it may not lower the value much, but there's no way I'd pay the same price or even close to it with it having over double the miles and not knowing if the engine was replaced or anything like that. The guy said he had no idea about the mileage thing, so without a definitive answer it wasn't a deal. -

I don't mind it being a 98...the Toyota we looked at was a 98...but we would have a 24 month term, and that would result in a $250 payment, plus the full coverage insurance. I don't want a high payment on a used car...in that case, we'd just buy a new one with a long term and have the "security" of having a new car. But I don't want a new car right now. I'm paying the one we got in November off today, so that will be nice. -

Lol! Sounds like you got a good deal I don't like to price haggle, but hubby called a dealership the other day about a 10k truck and talked them down to 6k!!!! But I didn't want him to get it. -

What year? How much? V6 or V8? P.S. Hate that we didn't see you in January...I really want to bring Gavin back, but I am just sooo busy these days. I am still not done with school and should have been done a long time ago. Even his preschool is interfering with it, so I can't imagine bringing him to Choi Kwang Do right now...but I know he will be very bored in the summer, and I will definitely be done by then! -

AutoCheck is like CarFax. The mileage on your car is reported during registration renewals, etc, and I think emissions tests. The report just showed that the car had 217k at the last registration renewal in 2008. But the car was then exempt after that year because it is a 98, so no odometer readings were reported after that. But the odometer shows 104k...and the report shows last known as 217, so that is obviously because they had the odometer rolled back. -

Oh, I'm LOVING the wienermobile. Hubby would totally be down with that. There's already going to be FOUR wieners in my house...what's another in the driveway, right? -
Oh, no! That is so terrible...I'm so sorry. That's sad about your dog...it's so hard on kids when something like that happens to their pet. And the car issues...things seem to happen in 3's. Had you been having problems shifting, or was this unexpected? I hate cars. Hoping it all gets better for you.

So, we've been looking for a car on Craigslist the past couple weeks. We've looked at several, but most were not as described (think dirty as heck when it's supposed to be "very, very clean") or were gone before we could get there. Then there is the game of email tag, which is so frustrating. And if they *do* leave their number in the ad, they usually do not answer when you call--even if they *just* listed their ad. It's like, wow...do you WANT to sell your car or not? Anyway, after a disappointment the night before last of hubby planning to meet a guy with a truck after work and then the

What was your first thought when you opened your eyes today?
LaurBar replied to Baileybleu's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Hubby got up an hour earlier to go snack on some donuts and chocolate. I thought, "Thanks for not taking the extra few seconds to open the bedroom door quietly and not wake the baby up." Baby cried for a while after that, and I didn't get to go back to sleep. Meanwhile, hubby had his donuts and got the rest of his sleep. -
PSA: Someone shot my dog on Magarity Rd in Yorkville
LaurBar replied to tow2topgun's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Sorry to hear about your dog...but are you sure it was a malicious shooting? Were there any other signs of injury? I just ask because a neighbor of mine growing up hit a neighborhood dog going at a low speed...dog didn't appear to be critical, but you could tell it was suffering and probably wouldn't recover. There wasn't really any blood or anything physically obvious about the dog that suggested he had been hit. But the neighbor was an elderly man and didn't want to see the dog suffer, so he shot him. The owners of the dog were worthless, so the man felt he did what he had to do for the dog -
What they really meant to say was Auto Kustoms or something like that. They work there and called it Dallas Customs?? Ugh...anyway, it was a waste of time.

I know it's near/next to Briar Patch, but I can't find it on Google Maps or by Googling...it is bring me results for Dallas Custom Storage, and that is not next to Briar Patch. I am meeting someone there later and don't want to have to call them back and bother them. I am not really worried about finding it since I know it's near BP, but I don't want to be late and have to go slow/take my eyes off the road or make U-turns trying to find it with 2 noisy kids in the car. I'll be coming from downtown Dallas area, so if anyone knows where it's at and which way I should go...I'd appreciat

The day before I had my baby, my friend and I (Devon on here) went to Gymboree to pick out the going home outfit. The sales lady looked at me like I was crazy and then looked at her coworker. I was like, "What??" She commented on how small I was and how she thought I needed a preemie size, not a newborn size. I only gained 21 lbs from my first appt to the day I delivered. Had a 8 lb 3 oz fatty! With my first baby I gained 18 lbs and had a 7 lb 2 oz This time, I fully expect to be surprised either way. I gained 20 lbs so far, but surprisingly that has held steady since my 22ish w
