Doctors don't make nearly as much money as most people think they do. The drug companies are a different matter. They make billions in profit! Sorry about the OD but unless it was prescription drugs that caused it, and the person who ODd got that prescription from a doctor, the doctor has no part in it.

chronic pain has been a reality for our family since the day we met. Hubby has had chronic pain for 33 years. In a way, it is how we met. He had chronic chest pain due to an electric shock for over 25 years and the last couple of years it has been chronic back pain due to arthritis and joint narrowing. For almost a year, pain meds kept him to where he COULD work. Now that isn't happening anymore. At his age (soon to be 59), arthritis isn't going to get better and therefore, neither will the pain. Years ago he went to the Emory Pain Clinic, at that time something new, and received a

I think the key is the difference between "pain management CLINICS" and "pain management PHYSICIANS". My husband is being seen by a pain management physician over near I-285. He is an MD. An anesthesiologist as a matter of fact. He offers much, much more than just pain pills to his patients. He offers various types of nerve blocks, surgeries, biofeedback, etc. Not the first time my hubby has been to a pain management physician. He had to make a return visit last week because his pain got so severe. The main thing the doctor told him was he wasn't taking ENOUGH of the pain meds and

My daughter was BEYOND pissed when she sat there for that long and THEN was told the caseworker was too busy to see her. When she first tried to get Medicaid when she got pregnant, she had to make FOUR trips there to get it. On the first trip, the guy sitting at the desk as the "greeter" was unbelievably rude to her and her husband and told her she didn't have what she needed to apply without even asking what she had with her. I took her one time, with me just about two weeks post foot surgery and still having problems, and she gets all the way in there--which is a pretty good walk from

At least you get to see your caseworker. My daughter went to the main office in Marietta (from Austell, with a baby), sat there for over an hour and THEN was told the caseworker couldn't see them. Apparently they were "too busy" to see the remaining people in the waiting room who were still there at 3:00 p.m. Oh yeah, my daughter was the ONLY person in the waiting room!

Not just you. Daughter can't get a caseworker to call her back after leaving MULTIPLE messages. Only caseworker at the Cobb locations who seems to give a darn about the people they deal with was the man she dealt with at the Smyrna office. How she got in touch with him, I don't remember since the closest office to them is the one by Six Flags. But anyway, this man was helpful. I talked to him once and she talked to him several times. Granddaughter's Medicaid has been cancelled several times for no apparent reason, too. Calls like your ex receives wouldn't happen in Cobb, eithe

My daughter and SIL did the online application and got the card in the mail before they got the paperwork stating what they would receive. I think they got the card in less than 2 weeks. The card came about two days after the caseworker called me to verify that they were living in my rental house. This is in Cobb and the procedure may be different there but the online application worked great for them. They have actually had better luck with things online than mailing them in. Their assistance period came up for review. She mailed in the form and the information but it "got lost".

We have inconsistent, at best, cell phone service at our house so a MJ would be our best bet should we decide to get rid of the landline. We don't have cable and won't get it just to get the MJ. The guy at the AT&T store gave us an idea that would help us get rid of our landline, while keeping our DSL and the ability to have MJ. It would also cut our phone bill by about $60 a month. We may do that.

I think a lot of how long does it take depends on how you make the payment. Electronic transfers usually post quickly (almost immediately) while the checks that the bank sends take a while longer because they are processed by both the receiver and the bank as if they were checks written by you. I do online bill pay and generally the electronic payments are done the same day I designate them to be done (which was great when I was getting paid on the 1st and 15th, I could have the power company payment come out on the 18th). The checks are a little trickier. It takes about 3-5 days, or

She knew. Her time on earth was drawing to a close and she knew that. My dad had terminal cancer. He waited until the last minute to go the hospital because he wanted to be at home as long as possible. The nurse in the ER came over to him and asked him how he was doing. He said "I'm fine". Just like that he was gone. He knew it was the end and he knew he WAS fine. Prayers to you, Guard Dad. Losing a parent is not easy. BTDT x 2. Hugs to you, too.

My daughter has it and loves it. They have Comcast Internet, so the MJ works great for them. The only thing they have a problem with is remembering to turn on the computer a few minutes before they want to make a call. They had one minor issue with call quality, but that resolved when they got a better phone. In fact, we're thinking of making the change ourselves.

When my youngest stepdaughter left us to go live with her mom, she registered in school where her mom lived. This was about the time schools started requiring custody agreements when registering students, in fact, I believe it was state law. I knew my stepdaughter was attending school, so I called the school to find out exactly HOW she registered since her mom didn't have custody. I was told very bluntly and rudely by the attendance secretary at the school that "we don't verify custody if the child lives with the mother because dads never are given custody". Well, my husband had custody!!

I was in downtown Austell and it was just horrible! Got home and it wasn't any better. Not sure what it was but whatever it was, it must have been widespread.

Need I mention that the day after tomorrow will be our THIRTY SECOND anniversary? As beautiful as those places are, they are a bit mushy for me, too. Plus, there is no point in me going to a winery since I can't drink alcohol. I sure want to try some of those places, though. If my hubby's back doesn't improve, we will be checking into handicapped facilities next year. I liked what I saw about Banning Mills. Barbed Wire suggested that to me. There seems to be plenty to do there, too. Sorry but I don't have a link to their website. Another suggestion, would be Calloway Gardens

He might not have gone to jail for leaving the kids in the car. Could have been anything. Of course, if he got busted for possession or open container or no license, the tale might have been later that it was for leaving the kids in the car. You never know. But again, I'm not saying what this woman did was right, not by any means. That would fix her!

I noticed the wording is SHOULD NEVER be left alone. It doesn't say CANNOT be left alone. Then it says "home" and doesn't mention anything about in a car. Again, not being contrary about this but have wondered if it is indeed ILLEGAL. Just because 99% of the population thinks something is wrong and should be illegal, doesn't make it so. And I'm with the OP, what this person did is WRONG.... but it might not be illegal. My question was if she did indeed call the police, what could they do. Based on that, I should never have left my then 6 year old daughter home alone to walk to

Not to be contrary or anything but is what she did ILLEGAL? Or is it just a really bad idea?

I feel sorrier for people WHO don't know proper grammar! Beauty can only get you so far, sweetheart. Some of that 100 million should go to higher education for the little brat.

That's nice, too. Haven't been to Brasstown Bald in many, many years. I've got a lot of ideas for fall trips here now, too. -
To use the standard accounting answer: it depends. You would just have to check with the DOL to find out. Seems as though that is what the woman I talked with at the DOL was there for--to apply after losing her temp job, which she had after losing her regular job.

That had never happened to us. Bad thing was the next time the tea tasted HORRIBLE! THAT has happened to us before, at that restaurant.

We ate in a Chinese restaurant (not in Paulding) a few weeks ago. They didn't have HOT TEA! WTH??? No hot tea in a Chinese restaurant? The time before that when we were there, they didn't have chopsticks. No chopsticks or hot tea in a Chinese restaurant??? The last time we were there, the tea tasted like sweaty gym socks smell. Hubby asked me a week or so ago if I wanted to go to the Chinese restaurant or to get barbecue and I told him barbecue without hesitation. Not sure if I want to go back to that Chinese restaurant again. Food wasn't all that great in my opinion, anyway. I

My first tier ended last week but I got a letter on Friday or Saturday to keep certifying. Apparently, you don't have to apply for the extensions. At least that is what I gathered from the letter which even an attorney would have difficulty understanding.

I was soooooooo embarrassed a couple of years ago at Perdido Beach Resort. Wonderful hot tubs and wonderful pool. There was a slight incline going from the pool to the area where the hot tubs were. I'm just walking down to the hot tub when splat! I fall. The floor was wet and slick and I just lost my footing. I landed on my bad knee. Embarrassed but not hurt. I finally stuggled to my feet and about 5 feet from the hot tub saw my hubby had just looked over to see me getting up. Shaking his head, he was! So happy that it was Halloween and other than a couple of kids who couldn't have ca
