We must shop at the same Walmart! along that line, last Friday my daughter and I were in Walmart (the one in Powder Springs). She was attempting to go down the bread aisle. Someone had stopped in the middle of the aisle, COMPLETELY blocking it with their cart and DID NOT move. She said "excuse me" politely but loudly enough to be heard a couple of times (her mama raised her well). I walked up, talked with her a bit and asked my daughter plenty loud enough for the woman to hear me "are you needing something at the end of the aisle?" The woman NEVER moved. I finally turned around a

the ONLY reason I ever buy any grocery item at Walmart is if I am there and I don't want to make another stop on the way home. I do shop at Walmart but generally only buy what I have coupons for. For instance, I buy all of our shampoo, shaving cream, toothpaste, deodorant, hair color, make up and pain relievers there as well as some of my cleaning items such as laundry detergent, fabric softener and dishwasher detergent. I go about once a month, as close to the last day of the month as possible, and use all the coupons that are about to expire. It's rare that I buy an item there without a

I had trouble earlier, around 9 a.m. or so, but I thought it was because I was running two high-memory programs at the same time. When I would type, I'd be finished with the sentence before the letters of the second word would appear on the screen.

Almost to Alabama, huh? Sure used to be that far. Now, just west Dallas.

You wouldn't be in the industrial area behind Home Depot would you?

Wow. You have several different issues here. One, exactly what will he be doing? Will he be hauling equipment, moving hoses, shuffling papers, supervising others? If he will be hauling equipment or moving hoses (or anything similar), I'd think long and hard about taking the job with current back problems. Second, 12 hours a day 7 days a week? That might be sustainable short term for an older guy. By short term, I mean a couple of months. But with back problems, that's going to be difficult to sustain for that length of time. Of course, he might make enough during those 18 mon

I saw something like that on another programm--AOL I think. Wasn't FB and I know it wasn't Yahoo because I haven't been on my Yahoo Messenger in several days and I saw this TODAY. I definitely remember the "friend photo" being mentioned and it was something I hadn't seen before. Thank goodness I'm a card-carrying cynic.

My thought exactly. I may go to the beach several times a year but I rarely get in the water. In fact, I may go years without getting in the water. Planning on going to Navarre in a couple of weeks and may never make it to the beach since we won't be there long.

That was my guess, too. Oh, the DREADED coppermouthwaterrattler. A LIVE one at that.

If it's alive, it's bad.

I just checked and nothing has changed at Navarre Beach. Reservations still being taken, no cancellations. And that is about about 50 miles closer than Destin to where the spill happened. Odd that the place you had a reservation in Destin would cancel you like that. Most places along the Gulf Coast won't even refund your money if you have to leave during a non-mandatory hurricane evacuation.

I'll be happy to do it. I actually enjoyed them, in a way. Don't like DOL audits though.

Hubby and I are incorporated, as an S corp. Liability reasons primarily since our initial focus was on multi-billion dollar equipment. And whoever said you're not required to have work comp if you're a sole proprietor is correct. We actually had a hard time finding an agency to write work comp for the S corp that would include the two of us. We needed it because we were anticipating hiring an employee and our customers require vendors employees be covered. Technically, we were both employees though both of us are officers as well. Complicated and I don't really understand insurance

How interesting. My hubby bought me a sapphire and diamond necklace for our 25th anniversary. I can't wait to see a picture of your ring!

Actually, all of those expenses are legitimate expenses whether or not you're incorporated or an LLC if you're self employed. The biggest difference in taxes due if you're incorporated vs doing a Schedule C is the self employment tax. The profit from either is taxable. People who are self employed and work at home generally have a lot more profit than people who are self employed and have to travel from job site to job site. Note to MarkDvd, be sure to track all your mileage from day one! And all expenses, too. Even if you have to buy a stapler.

CONGRATULATIONS!! I have a friend who is also celebrating his 25th anniversary today. As I told him, that is no minor accomplishment!

Smyrna. Church Road (the one between Old Concord and South Cobb Drive). Wills class of '73. I could have sworn I saw your name on the reunion list for Wills, though.

Off topic to Subby: did you grow up in Smyrna??? Career changes can be wonderful!

I avoid that stretch of 278. I cut through backroads because it is actually faster! Not only are they not utilizing the cameras to change the signals when nobody is there, but they don't seem to be timed correctly either. You might make two of them and then get caught by the third. My biggest peeve is at Humphries Hill and CH James, from the Humphries Hill side. I go that way quite often. The county did these really nice turn lanes on Humphries Hill but there are NO left turn signals! What good are the turn lanes if 1--they are too short and 2--there are no turn signals. At least if

We generally watch at least two episodes on ION every night. Sometimes if we don't have to get up early the next day, we will watch three. it certainly isn't what you would call a "happy show" but the intereactions are great. Story lines are wonderful. Scary at times to think that while the show may be fiction, there ARE people out there just like the people they profile. For those of you on Facebook, both Matthew Gray Gubler and Shemar Moore are on there. I'm a fan of both.

I thought that was a new one! It was to me, at least.

I have a cousin who is the recipient of not one, but two heart transplants. The first one failed and she miraculously got another. She used to be on the liver transplant list as well but not sure if that is still a possibility. I made my wishes known about organ donation back in the 1970s, after my dad died of pancreatic and liver cancer. I've told my kids and my husband that if I die and they don't donate my organs I WILL come back to haunt them.

Thank goodness! I thought it was just this computer!

Happy anniversary my friends. You two are an awesome couple! Every time I see you two you remind me more and more of me and my hubby.

ideas for getting 2 year old to play alone
Mama Carol replied to Mama Carol's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I told her that it is probably the most natural thing in the world for the 2 year old to want to be with mommy and daddy all the time since she has been since birth. And with the new one, she may feel "left out" a little bit. I must say, she did great when we had her for the weekend but she did want to be right there with one of us. Thankfully, Papa entertained her a bit while I cooked and cleaned up the kitchen. Maybe that's the key--she needs to do whatever she wants to do with my daughter until she gets tired. She seemed to play well in her room when I would go over and keep her f
