Since I think the league minimum pay is like $250,000 - wonder if they're waiting to see if the current tax rates are continued or changed - lol

Please don't take me wrong...I'm not one of the socialism people. I am one of the people who want medicare & SSI to go away. The money you are paying into the system is being used to care for those who are receiving the benefits now. When you are ready to retire & receive the benefits, working class will be paying for you and, of course, due to the increases, they will pay much more. I used to believe about how much we paid into the system and we were owed that back, etc., etc. Then, I had to take over the Medicare/SS for both my parents and both my husbands parents. I saw the pape

Short N Sassy: i understand....worked in a doctors billing office. Will you, as you're still in an office, try to explain to those who don't understand why it appears as if the doctors are so rich when they're not? Usual & Customary = Fee that is the most consistently charged by the physician for a particular procedure. This doesn't take into consideration that a physician renting a remodeled home in rural part of a county pays in overhead versus a doctor in a medical building or office condo closer to the larger city in a county. Negotiated rates - insurance companies negoti

My parents doctor sent a letter to all of his patients earlier this year. He no longer accepts "new" medicare patients (as of a few months ago) and will stop taking all medicare patients 6/1/2011. He did extend this stop date from the original flier date that had been posted in his office. He quit taking Medicaid patients some time ago.

I like them better than the old ones, but, they're still not Mickie D's.....My son likes them a lot.

I see some recovery - one abandoned subdivision near me "reopened" just as school began and they've sold several homes. Another one, within site of my neighborhood resurfaced, put up new for sale signs on the lots and is grading for the "entrance" stuff and we noticed today that ground has been broken for house - of course, both developments were to have been $350's or higher and now say high $200's and low $300's. I have 4 real estate agents on my facebook - 1 closed a short sale today and 2 on Tuesday, 1 closed a house that'd been on the market for 2 years today - $75,000 under where it wa

Who don't want to get to work on our "to do" lists! Maybe we should have a get together and solve the worlds problems! My nephew has a brown eyed, sandy blonde dad and a green eyed blonde mom & he is constantly mistaken for mexican national - except that he is 6'1" - lol. I agree!

My link A “Don’t Walk” signal at a crosswalk in Spokane, Wash., sent a most impolite message to pedestrians on Wednesday, "flipping the bird" at people waiting on the corner until the city got around to fixing it. Around $750. We love Dr. O'Shea in downtown Acworth. My link Edited to add that most dentists will give you an estimate of the work & work out a payment plan before treatment.

Foul Play ultimately dismissed in Woman’s Death

Guys, Guys.....sorry I posted the dang story! I don't "watch" local news. Once a day, I peruse the "news" sites - usually, as like now, it's with my morning coffee - sometimes it's if I'm stressed over something and need a diversion (then I check pcom, too - lol). The lady is dead. Condolences to her family/friends - no matter how she died. Being found outside & injured is why I posted the dang thing and I refrain from my own speculation on these things because I'm not a cop or a CSI agent. I left pcom for almost 2 years due to two certain people (who either are no longer her -
Denise: There are imaging centers in many areas....an MRI doesn't have to be done at the hospital and is actually very much cheaper at one of the imaging centers. Some have "open" MRI's and some have closed or both. In the last couple of months I've had a CAT & 2 MRI's (all with different contrast dyes). They may ask you if you know of an imaging center locally. You can "google" and see what's around you and call and see if they perform the scan he needs. I like Marietta Imaging Center & Omni Magnetic imaging - one is near Kennestone, one is on Chastain Meadows. There is

Didn't mean to go out today - needed to run an errand, so, I thought I'd go ahead and bite the bullet and go to Costco. Drove right into a space, was in and out in 20 minutes with what I needed. Thought, Dang, that was easy - went to JC Penney Home to look at something I'd seen, parked close, in and out quickly. Thought, wow, lets try Sears - NO PROB!! Found hubs Lee jeans for $17.99, checked out, walked down to JC Penney, tried on a few sweaters - no wait for rooms - asked how much they were, pleasant women at register, said they were $9.88, bought 3 along with camis at $4.88 to go under

What are you thankful for this year?
onekidmom replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This has been a tough year, but, through it all, I am thankful for the blessings & opportunities God has given, for a husband who is as close to perfect as they come, who loves me unconditionally, warts & all & who provides a wonderful life for us. For a son who is growing into a young man of character and who opens my eyes daily to the joys of life. For two paid off vehicles that still run like new, for paid bills, food on the table, roof over our heads, my furry creatures that keep me laughing & bird feeders (and the extra cash to keep food in the feeders!) and for friends -
Doesn't Feel Like Thanksgiving this year
onekidmom replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I thought it would be hard this year as we made the decision to not be with either set of our parents and extended family this year. My son made the statement earlier tonight that he really enjoyed the day with just us & the pets. I told him that was sweet and asked why he enjoyed just us - his response - Well, Mom, we're happy. Nobody got mad, nobody caused problems, nobody left with hurt feelings. Wow. Said a lot to me. Made me realize that Thanksgiving was about giving thanks for my husband, my son & the life we're blessed with. Not about trying to make a Norman Rockwell pain -
Hey....my kid doesn't have either of those items - I was just making a comparison because most kids have those types of things. And, mine (13) knows about giving...He's spent time these past weekends at MUST separating food, at a home for women cleaning out the pantry, at Feed My Lambs reading to children, etc. & for the food drive at his school -he paid for the canned goods from money he earned this past summer taking care of neighborhood pets along with he purchased items for the military boxes our church is shipping this week, helped wrap those and helped me with the shopping for our b

My old church was an angel food site....I cannot recommend angel food enough for those in need. The amount of food you receive is incredible for the price! As for the other, I'd call every church around as well as go on over into Cobb & see about Cobb Christmas. How about the shop with a cop stuff? I agree that some people do expect the government (and others) to provide for them while they spend the money they do have on things they want, but, when it comes to the children, I cannot bear the thought of a child not having a present or two on Christmas morning - doesn't need to

Hubs did ATL to Knoxville round trip week before last & ATL to Tuscon 8 days ago, then Tuscon to Phoenix to ATL on the return last Friday. Went thru standard metal detectors every time and wasn't selected for additional screening. I swear he just has that "look".....He's been called up for jury duty 3 times - gets sent home on the first day each time & dismissed.
