  1. Same here. Pistols/shotguns & hunting rifles at home and at all of my uncles. However, if one of us kids had even considered touching one of those guns, we KNEW - not just thought - we KNEW we'd have our butts busted - literally. Those guns were never under lock and key. Heavens, I rode to school with a kid with his hunting rifle in the gun rack behind my head in his truck.
  2. My link The boy's classmates alerted school administrators about the gun, and they in turn contacted the Paulding sheriff. A deputy with the department's school resource office responded and took the gun from the student without incident, sheriff's spokesman Brandon Gurley said. "It wasn't loaded, but he did have ammunition on him," Gurley said.
  3. My first - high school sweetheart, dated 2 years, married 6 months after I graduated (me 18, him 21), lasted 3 years & a few months. Took me 10 more years to find the right one. We worked together & were friends always hanging out with other singles in the company. Then dated for about a year, engaged on my birthday & married 9 months later. So, dated 20 or so months, then married. Celebrated 15 years this year. He's definitely my best friend. My second marriage, his first.
  4. I post this every week somewhere: The best place to get the scores - and it is updated throughout the game - is the ajc. And, yes, all paulding schools are listed. My link

  6. Of course, I recommend Mt. Paran. Tuition includes supplies/lunch & many other things. Since you are transferring in from public school, you should check out Georgia Goal Scholarship Program. This is not a needs based, nor leaving a failing school based & Mt. Paran is a participating school. My link When checking out the other schools, I'd highly recommend asking how long the average teacher has been on staff, the headmaster has been in place, etc. Consistency is very important. If you do your research, you will find that a couple of the schools mentioned have recently (th
  7. The 11-year-old’s case will remain in juvenile court, but his mother said that her son is a good boy. She said her son, who has only lived in the area for three weeks, was at Smallwood’s Marietta apartment during the attack, but didn’t participate in the beating. “I’m not really worried, because I know my son is not the one who hit him,” his mother told Channel 2’s Ross Cavitt. My link No, my sweet little boy was just hanging out with a teenager who was kicked out of high school & was just at the apartment visiting the old man - Jeez........Are these the kids that'll be workin
  8. Police said they received a call from Dacula Middle School about a bomb threat on a school bus at about 9 a.m. after three parents called school officials and said their children had sent them text messages about a bomb. My link Of course, since the kids could never exaggerate or lie to their parents, I'm sure the bomb magically disappeared.
  9. We've printed (and used) the $5 concession cash - 3 of them. Decided that saved us more money than the movie ticket. Ours was from kellogs.
  10. We do get Salmon, mollusks, shrimp, all types of fish from china. We also import some nuts, fruits & veggies. You can google and see where some of it (as I'm sure alot of other countries imports) are tainted and returned only to show up again trying to enter at another area. That's one reason I'm happy that the meat in our stores (as well as the veggies/fruits) are now being labeled as to the origin of the product. Not all of it yet, but a good deal. This is where I got into an argument with another pcommer who said we didn't get meat from New Zealand. US isn't perfect, and the stuff
  11. Oh, Zoo, I hope you feel better soon! I know this sounds crazy, but, since you mentioned you've recently had a baby, have you looked into anxiety/panic attacks? My neighbor went by ambulance because she thought she was having a heart attack and she's a nurse! After testing for like everything, it finally happened while at a drs office so they could check everything - turned out to be anxiety attacks.
  12. Was at Dicks Sporting Goods on Barrett Pkway - they have now hiring signs posted in the windows.
  13. I am SO HAPPY that you posted this. When I've posted in the past, it's like y'all think I'm crazy. It's not the chronic pain patients abusing the drugs. These patients are what the meds were intended for. Late August, here in Acworth: My link From The Early Show today: My link From Florida, today: My link Re: The so called "pill mills" (pain management clinics) My link Excerpt below from here: My link Statistics show this warning is needed. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, of the 638 drug overdose deaths in Georgia in 2008, 543 involve

Hopefully not.....we do still have CSI, CSI: Miami & CSI: New York.
  15. YES! My Grandma loved them. My aunt would buy one at Thanksgiving. Do y'all remember Bill & Nat's? The little grocery just past East Marietta Shopping Center? Grandma would buy a "store bought" coconut cake there, too. Wasn't as good, but, she'd be ok with it.
  16. You could get the free ice cream after going to Dr. Snow (the dentist), too.....Always thought it was a cruel joke that I had to get a filling or my teeth cleaned & lectured about sweets to then be taken to get ice cream!! And, Pat A Cake - oh, my. Only my "rich cousins" got their cakes there - my grandma made mine! But the petit fours were amazing at Christmas when Grandma would buy them! Burger Chef had the most awesome vanilla milkshakes. Don't know why I've never found any to match that memory!
  17. Fall Break Fever?? I've heard from a friend this morning that all 3 of hers are rabid with Fall Break Fever! They're leaving for the beach Tuesday morning.

My hairdresser sells it. He's lost like 50 lbs and is in better shape that I've ever known him in the 17 years he's been doing my hair.
