Ok....guess I'm a prude, but, I would be a little po'd too if the opt out letter was sent home the same day the assessment was given: "Unfortunately, the opt-out letter to parents regarding this unit in the health class went home on the same day that the assessment was administered. As a result, there was not enough time to allow for parental response before the unit began," school officials said in a written statement. My link My link

Before we have another 'prayers requested' thread

I keep telling my son he's going to be driving either an old Cadillac El Dorado or a Buick Electra - you remember - the ones that were the size of smaller homes at the time - lol. -
My mom has both. Major changes in her diet & some meds & so far, no surgery.

I was invited to 3 weddings today!! So as not to hurt feelings, I've delivered wedding gifts & chose not to attend any of them. Supposed to be lucky date???

I just forwarded it to 14 friends......

Friend just sent this to me: My link Is this it???

Yes, it is sad that in this day of up to the minute news, we can't get things like this in the forefront - rather be looking for missing teens - who, I'm praying just are trying to elope or something - and that they are safe (and young & stupidly in love & trying to be together). Maybe a facebook page with their pics created by the parents??? Could get some leads that way. I'm praying for the happy outcome to be posted asap.

As with the missing teenage boy located recently, why is this not on the news with pictures so we can be on the look out for them???

Off topic a little - don't know Sam Clark and, thankfully, haven't needed an ambulance for my family since I put my head out of a windshield 19 years ago. I wish people understood just how much "writeoffs" anything to do with medical care takes. Every single insurance company is basically a pool of money - it's a risk/gamble on whether the participants of the pool will get sick or not. Every company negotiates rates with doctors/facilities. They have "usual & customary" charges - based on zip codes & risk factors in those zip codes. Insurance companies & lawyers are a huge part

That's what I'd heard, but United Healthcare says only the FSA's are losing that ability. You know how it is though, it's according to who you talk to. Had an MRI & received the statement from the radiologist with no adjustments for insurance, called them, they have no contract with United Healthcare. I'm like "so, now I need to know what radiologist will be reading my reports before I have an MRI" - one girl said yes -asked for the manager and she said, "No, there is a special code we should have used because the facility you had the MRI performed does have a contract with UH", so, the

I have a friend with no insurance who is using this: My link I checked into it thru our pharmacy & they told me I could have them check the price of each prescription and see which would be cheaper, the negotiated rate with my insurance company or using this prescription card. CVS says it's valid.
-
ER = $100 No Co Pay on doctor visits or prescriptions - negotiated rate on everything until deductible is reached. Deductible is $5800. After that, pay is at 100% with no copay on anything. The FSA's are changing several things in the upcoming year, but, as per my insurance company - United Healthcare - the HSA's aren't following the same changes due to FSA's are thru your employer & as a group, they're making changes, but HSA's are individual.

And, I hate to tell you, but there are funeral homes for critters.....There is one in Kennesaw that has been there a few years now. Dream Land Pet Memorial....you can google it. And, I know there is a pet cemetery because when my vet had my dog cremated, I received information re: the cemetery.

How do you get INTO that pose without breaking something Actually, I've heard people with back problems swear by how yoga helped them. I keep saying I'm going to try a class.

Ok....I'm doing some work (from home) that I really can't get into, so, I keep looking at news stories. This one cracked me up. My link The program, known as Flocabulary, is an educational tool that uses rap and hip-hop music to help students learn and memorize basic principles of vocabulary, reading, writing, social studies, math and science. The district was authorized to spend $97,000 in federal funds on the program and has already spent $10,000 One particularly controversial song entitled "Old Dead White Men,"describes President James Monroe's presidential term by saying: "White men getting richer than Enron. They stepping on Indians, women and blacks. Era of Good Feeling doesn't come with the facts." "

I understand - completely. I am a Christian, raised Baptist on the Sundays I was with Mom & her family & Methodist on the Sundays I spent with my deceased dads family. I know this will sound like bashing - and it's not meant to be - but, I think that Southern Baptists are the reason so many are leaving organized religion. 5 years ago, I lost what I thought was a very good friend due to her constantly harassing me as to the salvation of my husbands soul. He was raised Presbyterian & had been sprinkled, not immersed, so, accordingly, he was not going to be allowed into heave

You and I must be twins separated at birth! My earlier post was misunderstood also. I wholeheartedly agree with you; however, how can we rely on parents to take that time when the parents seem to think its "cool", too?? None of us are perfect (well, with the exception of a few of our pcommers ). These news reports should be wake up calls as to what is going wrong.. -
I feel so sorry for these people....I really, really do. And, before you say, well, if it was your family - stop. I watch members of my family do things like this. Many of us do. To me, this is alot like our healthcare issues. All of us are seeing increases in our premiums, we're seeing homeowners insurance increase, car insurance increase - well, it's because of those who don't pay. When someone has a free ride, someone else pays. As someone else said, it's like not paying your insurance premium then being po'd the the insurance company doesn't pay your claim.

The "society" is ALL OF US. There are no morals anymore. Laws are suggestions/guidelines. Get caught doing something, get your lawyer & plead "not guilty". Bail is made and people are on the streets until trial which is, at best, 6 months after the person walks out of the cell. "They" give grammys to thugs because "we" buy the music. "They" make the movies because "we" pay to go and see the movie and/or rent/purchase it. "They" give $$$$ to felons in sports because "we" pay to see them play. "They" coddle movie stars/celebrities because "WE" buy the magazines, watch th -

Uhm....I don't think you understood that I wasn't saying "oh, this poor little thing was being bullied" - I meant it to say that Hey, maybe he was being bullied & thought this was an appropriate reaction due to the fact that we punish the victim & not the bullier. Oh, no. I think this kid & his parents MUST be held accountable for this. I'm not a coddler. Just ask my son. He has told me so many times how much harder I am than any of his friends parents - my response - they ain't my kids son, you are. -

Maybe he was being bullied. There is another article today about an 11 year old committing suicide over bullying. Since we're in the age of not my kid/what did the teacher do to provoke my kid/ my kid said this so it's not exagerrated - it's the whole truth - most times it's the victim of bullying that seems to be punished. It's not the kid who hit/pushed/punched/kicked, it's the kid that reacts that is punished. It's not the kid causing the issue - it's the kid being violated that is usually moved in the class or moved to a different class or removed from the bus, etc. PS...I'm in no
