  1. I cannot tolerate the wreaking odor of that store. Two seconds inside Kirkland's and that's all I can smell the rest of the day. Bleck! They just moved and doubled the size of the one at The Avenue and hired more people. They must be doing good in this economy.
  2. What ship are you going on? I'm looking into a 30+day cruise on Seabourn but going through the Suez Canal and the "pirate" area kind of scares me. Have fun!
  3. I make my own (from allrecipes.com). The amount of sodium in those packets is staggering.
  4. Good thing she stocked up on her booze yesterday.
  5. Ask a mechanic if they'd ever own a VW. I'm willing to bet that they'd all say "no way".
  6. Why would someone in the military know better than anyone else? What if he worked at McD's or the post office? Would you go to his place of work and complain about him even though it had nothing to do with his occupation? You could always go the simple route and talk to the man about his poor parking and how it's effecting others.
  7. Curious here. Who pays for this "free" event?
  8. That's great, best of luck to you! It's an incredible feeling to be mortgage free.
  9. I guess it depends what news channel. They were reporting that the ticket brokers lost money on his show, they couldn't even give away the tickets. Got a giggle out of the people complaining about the show. What did they expect?
  10. What does him being military have anything to do with it? I'd just take pictures and keep complaining to the apartment management until something is done about it.
  11. We had it all removed when we purchased our house. It washes out of the beds and floats down the driveway. It also does not biodegrade so your plants don't get any of the broken down nutrients from regular mulch. The plants and shrubs were stunted and sickly looking from the having rubber mulch. After having all the rubber removed and regular mulch in, our plants/flowers look 100 percent better. The stuff was horrible and I'm sure quite expensive. I'd NEVER want it.
  12. We bought a short sale with two mortgages on it. I had heard nightmare stories but mine could not have been easier. From making the orginal offer to closing date, it took less than three months. The longest part was waiting the 45 days for BofA to accept our offer.
  13. I hate carrying my military dependents ID card because it has BOTH my husband's AND my SSN on it. Thankfully they are finally phasing out the SSN on the cards and going to a randomly assigned number.
  14. I keep thinking she looks like "Ruby" from that tv show.
  15. I love to wander around Pike's nursery on Cobb Pkwy in Acworth. Great selection of plants! And I appreciate that they have a lifetime guarantee on their trees and shrubs
  16. Instead of bagging on the 17 year old kid who is obviously trying...why not offer up some help? Geez, everyone acts so concerned about the horse but don't seem to want to offer any assistance. I guess it's just easier to pick a fight with a teenager. And I'd offer to help, but I don't know the first thing about horses. best of luck to you, "headbanger", I hope you are able to find something more stable (no pun intended) for your horse.
  17. Yep. There is no rhyme or reason to those sirens off Merchants and Butler Industrial. I learned to ignore them because they are so random.
  18. The "newest" version of the Homebuyer's credit is not paid back. It's literally $8k given to the homebuyer by the government for buying a home. The previous version, from 2008 had to be paid back over a certain amount of years. If it wasn't your first home, you still qualified for $6500 if you lived in your previous house for 5 years. I received the $6500 credit for 2010 taxes and it took less than a month even though I had to paperfile. I was shocked how quick it was returned to me.
  19. This is true. It's kind of sad when people have to think, "Good thing she didn't kill her kids".
  20. Maybe it's just me but a mother who leaves her children alone, and doesn't come home for a week doesn't exactly deserve a "Mom of the Year" award. Those poor children must be traumatized.
