  1. No, this all could have been avoided. A simple check verification, a hold on the check with an explanation to the customer, anything but throwing a person in jail and reeking havoc in his life. Did the employee speak to a bank manager? Who was directly responsible? I'm not sue-happy either, but if I were thrown in jail because of bank incompetence, I would sue them if only for my legal fees, lost wages, the value of my vehicle........ Just ridiculous and they don't even have the decency to return a call. Is that the type of society we now have? Ignore and the little nuisance
  2. Printed the paperwork from the web site & got our pics at the rite aid drug store for $8 each and tried to get the post office to take the paperwork. They were giving us appointments for 2 weeks out (powder springs & kennesaw). Ended up going to the douglas county court house and walked right in. Done in 5 minutes. Passport and birth certificate mailed together about 3 weeks later
  3. I saw a lady at Kohl's who was at least in her upper thirties if not older. Great build, tan, blonde highlights, etc. Her problem was that her skin had a raw-hide appearance. It just really didn't look good on her. To me, she was going for a wanna-be appearance. That and she took the only dress in my 15 yo's size. I am probably biased and wouldn't have even really noticed her otherwise.
  4. went through that same situation with my kid's 1996 mustang. You will have to get both airbags & the control module up under the radio area (upper center console). There are online companies saying they can "reset" the control box if you mail it to them, but don't do it. You also have those clowns online that will tell you to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to reset the box. If the 2 sensors behind the grill are damaged, you have to get another one or two of those too. The difficulty with finding them through a junk yard is getting the right color and finding a car that is not hit
  5. Just saw 4 sheriff's cars flying down towards Merchants Drive. Just being nosy. Anybody know anything? Wed. 6/29 around 1:30 (took a few min. for me to get to the computer)
  6. Some students questions are answered differently depending on which catalog (year) you are under. Realistically, it also makes a difference which school you started under too, if it was before the merger. There have been alot of changes at the school over the past 4 years. There have been alot of course/degree, as well as rule changes as they have pulled the best (& sometimes worst) from each one of merged schools catalogs. You can pm me if you have not found your answer yet. I have a close friend in administration at the marietta campus.
  7. I live near RR Kroger and that is my main place to shop. I know where everything is, I think prices are lower and the 10 cents off is great (recently got 50 cents off! ) Love the fruit and salad bar at Ingle's and will shop for groceries if there. Food Lion is just out of my comfort zone. Not enough selection and the aisles are really small. Publix, out of the way and seems to be more expensive, although once they showed an entire meal plan instead of just the usual one item sample. It was good and we had that meal for dinner. I know the back-roads in Hiram and avoid 92 and
  8. we didn't buy a trap--- they can be borrowed at the paulding animal shelter
  9. There are a lot of people who happily condemn other people for their actions, praise their own actions, but rarely look at themselves for their own faults.
  10. thanks for the info, but according to most internet search engines, a law enforcement 10-15 is a person in custody / transport. Does the paulding S.O. use different codes than the rest of the country?
  11. and why is a 10-15 (Prisoner in custody)important? (after all, aren't they in custody)
  12. That is because paulding deputies (& city of hiram) do not enforce those parking lot violations. In cobb, they like writing those $250+ tickets. You would think that would be a revenue source they would consider using...
  13. To each his own, I just don't make it a practice to judge other people.
  14. Yes, but I don't think I have ever seen it happen.
  15. I am probably too grumpy to be "replying" to this but I will anyway. I don't really care what other people do at their table. I am concerned with mine only and the service I receive. Yes, it will probably bug me if they are noisy or interrupt my meal. I just know I don't know their circumstances. Their kid may have a mental issue I am unaware of (or they may have). Maybe the kid's are going through a crappy divorce, maybe their parent just left, died, went overseas, or or or or or.... You just never know. But for the Grace of God, go I......
  16. Currently, Avgas is approx $5.90 a gallon. It is 100 octane with lead included, but no ethanol. Ok for race cars / bikes etc, but not for your average car designed for unleaded gas. The 100 octane has a slower burn rate and tends to foul spark plugs in lower compression engines. It does run pretty good in mowers and most pre-mix type lawn equipment though there is some carbon build up on the pistons, etc
  17. There was NO justifying the truck's, laden with a four-wheeler, intentions. The biker did cross on a double line, and it appears all 3 probably were speeding. I'm glad the police were called and I hope appropriate tickets were given out. I would love to find out what happened. I know some drivers can take their "privileges" too far, but saying attempted murder is justifiable is ludicrous.
  18. My condolences Frank, Clyde and your families from the Frank Carson family
  19. It does matter --- that is why they now have "polarized" lamps and ceiling lighting now. If it is wired reversed, then you could get a shock from the outside of the bulb metal socket while unscrewing it (it is supposed to be neutral). The center of the bulb is supposed to be "hot". The OP didn't say if it was a fluorescent or incandescent light fixture. With 2 black wires on the light, it may be why it was on clearance in the first place. (old stock)
  20. They were not on state unemployment for 3 years. They were under the their union unemployment benefits same as the UAW workers & teamsters when they get laid off. The only exceptions to the 26 week max is for those are that in a vocational retraining program (school) or a disability program. The unemployment classes are handed out on a case by case basis, not everyone has to go
  21. Having taken a recent business ethics class, I feel completely qualified to answer this questing (Being very sarcastic here). If you are expected to begin taking calls at 8, then you should be paid for the 5-10 min. prep work. Or they can begin the answering center to open at 8:15 instead. Hubby, said it could all be resolved by simply being paid by salary rather than hourly. No company wants to pay for an employee to come and bs around the time-clock or the coffee machine/water cooler. Of course, they feel they have the right to dock you for being late. It comes down to the c
  22. Lots of factors here about how much fault lies with mom. Was the mom led to believe it was a child-safe room, had she brought the child before, was she aware that she would be strapped down or immobile? If she knew she wouldn't be to move, did mom tell the staff her kid would be ok -- would the staff be ok with that? Sadly, I think culpability has to be shared. Ultimately, the mom should never have allowed the child to be unattended while she was immobile, the staff should never have allowed a child to unattended in an office, someone should have said "No" to the treatment. And th
