Daughter called that a bad accident happened at the "bridge" on Bakers Bridge Road. Bridge is probably closed.

My sister got stopped for doing just that. Didn't get a ticket, though. -
I was stopped (and let go) as a teen for rolling through a stop. Didn't even realized it. So now I make sure I can feel the roll back of the tires before I move. I wish I could get a penny for how many people run a particular stop sigh including countless SO's.

They did go out of business.

It's fine. My only problem is I can't look up cub cadet on the computer without Google. It just goes faster with a part number, but I can do it. And yes, you can ask for me anytime.

Sometimes the Cub Cadet parts cross over to MTD. If you have a part number, give us a call.

I just watched the video. In this specific case, it appears all of these "kids" came to steal from this store. I just got mad watching. Somebody receives a text saying a large group of people are meeting up with the purpose to rob a store, vandalize something, or even beat or kill someone and it is enough to encourage someone to participate. In this case, I think they all knew what they were doing. I've heard of "mob" scenes where a person gets caught up in the action and blindly participates. Blind participation cannot be applied in this case.

I am currently reading "The Help". Haven't had an opportunity to read a good book in a while. I am thoroughly enjoying myself.

best way to assist someone you don't know personally

This is one of the most depressing topics I have read in a while. More cynicism and warnings than anything. If it is in your heart to give, then give. If not, then don't. The whole world is not out there to take from you. There are people who sometimes need help. Yes, some will be looking for drugs or to lure you in to rob you. But some actually need help. Often the ones who truly need help have to suffer through glares and judgmental attitudes. I have been in a spot where I asked for assistance before and I took it. I was never to the point where I asked people for spare -

This great advice. If your main concern is that you are being scammed, then don't give them money. Send a food basket or gift/gas cards, or even offer services if you need to feel charitable. It sounds like they might be asking for help. If so, there are organizations designed to help people in tough spots: Helping Hands, Warehouse of Hope, Tallatoona, Churches with special programs. Sometimes the right phone number can turn a life around. -
It is definitely different than when I grew up. I began school as a latchkey kid. My kids went to daycare. Back to the original question. It depends on lots of factors. Your kids maturity level is the main thing. Do you still have to remind them not to go near the road or wander off? Stranger Danger also applies to older kids who want to play games that might not be safe for yours. If they lead your kid off, will they be able to find their way home? Do they know their address, phone number, what to do in an emergency? Will they be able to say know to a dare? I like the 10-15 mi

Kind of an example of the unusual ways people are now using to get income. The jobs situation the way it is nowadays, you have to be creative in getting income --- doing things no one else is doing or willing to do. Thinking outside the "box".

I didn't know. I haven't had a chance to watch the news in a while and I just get the opportunity to get on here on occasion. Now backing out of this discussion without taking sides.....

Hubby just told me there was a bus accident on Bankhead Hwy. this morning. It was on Ch. 5, but it was just a blurb. Has anyone heard anything about it? Hoping and praying all are ok.
-
Because it is assumed that anyone asking such a question is a racist or an attempt to classify a group. What they won't admit to is that they are often just as curious (or already know). I was curious too, but in reality, mental issues have no race boundaries. Either way it is a sad thing that happened.

Although I very much doubt the officers will let us know what happened....I sure wish they would. Maybe the regular "victims" of her road antics will let us know if she, at least, slowed or improved her driving habits. Or maybe, she was "detained" for the evening. Maroon van on Bakers Bridge this morning, you didn't succeed in killing or hurting anyone this morning going through that school-bus stop sign (WHICH IS ILLEGAL for a REASON!!!!). If that is your goal, may you enjoy your insanity.

Briar Patch sends weekly coupons through e-mail. They are good ones.

I'll check for it. I know I have a "Scam" one, but it doesn't seem to stop them. Yep Yeah, more relatives to ask for money (not that my actualclose ones do.... ) I do that, but they just keep coming back.

But isn't every driver supposed to be alert and paying attention, not following too closely in order to avoid accidents. I'm sorry, but if the car in front puts on the brakes, then the 2nd car should follow suit. The unexpected happens every day; we should always be prepared. If not, then accident happens. I often practice courtesy if it will not greatly impede traffic (usually when stopping already for a car making a left hand turn in front of me and someone would like to get in front of me)and it does not put the other vehicle at risk.

I'm personally having a real bad day, so I may post something I shouldn't....
