Here is the most wonderful application in the world, for understanding and easily changing your FB privacy settings: Reclaim your FaceBook Privacy It is an independent open source program that scans your privacy settings and recommends changes. Carefully follow the instructions. I thought that I was pretty much locked down, and it found a couple of minor glitches which were easily changed. (I kept my birthday public though, because who doesn't like Birthday wishes! I did remove the year from my Birthday though.)

I saw your post, and I understand that you don't condone his behavior. The person in custody laws in Georgia were somewhat vague as it concerns a 16 year old at the time. This was before the genius lawyer and the idiot judge decided that the law needed to be rewritten and "clarified", allowing a child molester to go free. Furthermore, the charges were to be interference with custody and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, not statutory rape, as she had not yet stated that the relationship involved coitus. His letter as much as admits these criminal charges are accurate, as do his st

If you will dig a little deeper, you will find that he was not prosecuted only because the young alleged victim decided not to testify, and did not show up at a probable cause hearing. Upon reading the notes from investigators, witnesses, and the family, the judge issued the restraining order on his own volition, without the victim or her family present, saying later that he believed that there were indications that McBerry had likely acted at least inappropriately. Use of 'gray water' for garden-can anybody confirm?
lotstodo replied to kerstinamber's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It's legal to capture gray water for landscaping purposes, but not to just dump it out on the ground. -
He shoulda just bought a big ol' display ad.

I absolutely refuse to make my affiliations into "connections", which FB regards as public. I don't care how many times they trigger the pop up. If they continue on this course, my account will go bye bye since I've only gotten it to keep up with relatives and friends that are out of town. I'll go back to e-mail and picture sharing sites.

County wants bonuses repaid after 16 years.........
lotstodo replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
They can "ask" in one hand and pee in the other and see which one fills up first. I mean if the employees flat out stole the money, which they obviously didn't, the statute of limitations would have run out by now. Gwinnett's auditors and Mr. Bovos need to get a life. -
I agree. I was a little disappointed with her announcement that she wouldn't be on the stage with McBerry. That smacked a little too much of a strictly political move. Other than that I see her as a very good candidate, her work on the Fulton Commission was extraordinary as was her challenge to uphold the Voter ID law. She is a smart lady.

Karen Handel. She is the only one without baggage, and that's the shame of it.

Crud. I froze my credit reports 2 years ago, but Mrs. LTD didn't. I guess she needs to check her credit and put a fraud alert on her reports ASAP. Here is the truly free site to check your credit. Be careful not to sign up for any automatic service or your credit score unless you want to pay, just request your free report. AnnualCreditReport.com

"Race to the Top" is not stimulus money. It is a grant competition totally separate from the Federal Stimulus.
-
Psssst.....The Federal Government did bailout the Schools. Georgia is expected to receive about $1.2 Billion in Federal Education Stimulus Funds this year to help with the $10.2 Billion Dollar Education Budget. Education accounts for 58.1% of the overall Georgia state budget.

And your tax dollars are helping fund it.

Neither. It's points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is the sum of the share prices for the 30 listed company stocks divided by the Dow Divisor, which is currently 0.132319125. The number is not 1 because of stock splits over the years. That means that every dollar change in share price of a Dow stock results in a 7.56 point change in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

Bringing Industrial/Manufacturing Jobs to Paulding
lotstodo replied to surepip's topic in Paulding County NEWS
The timing is a dilemma with no clear answer. Right now would be the perfect time to prepare for any coming economic expansion if you assume that we are near the bottom of the business cycle. It also is probably the most affordable time to acquire commercial and industrial property in the last 20 years, or for the foreseeable future, again with the assumption that the economy won't totally tank on the next truly bad news. The obvious problem is that with all the belt tightening going on right now, it could be economically painful and political suicide to propose that we invest now for an -
Bringing Industrial/Manufacturing Jobs to Paulding
lotstodo replied to surepip's topic in Paulding County NEWS
I have always liked the idea of a public-private partnership. The Paulding IBA should partner with a large Industrial space developer like Selig or a similar group with industrial space and infrastructure development experience. The IBA could, through the issuance of bonds or by other means, finance the infrastructure development such as rough grading, streets, water, and sewer, along with Greystone providing high power underground 3 phase service and AGL providing high pressure/volume natural gas to and within the development. The partner agrees to pay back an agreed upon portion of the bo -
Letter to Paulding teachers and residents from Will Avery
lotstodo replied to willavery's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Actually Will, they transferred $342 million in Education Stabilization from the FY 2011 budget to the FY 2010 budget (our current fiscal year which is half over) supplementary budget to cover shortfalls that would occur between now and June 31, the end of FY 2010. Had they not done so, the school systems would have faced immediate cuts beyond those originally included in this Fiscal year's budget. Furthermore, they put off nothing. They passed a balanced budget for FY 2011 without the use of this money, so the exchange of that stimulus money from the originally proposed FY 2011 budget has -

Letter to Paulding teachers and residents from Will Avery

I look forward to hearing the specifics of Mr. Avery's and all the candidate's platforms and their views on how to better represent the fiscal and social values of the citizens of the 19th district. -
Letter to Paulding teachers and residents from Will Avery
lotstodo replied to willavery's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Quite honestly, with the revenues at 4.9% of reported personal income, and a tax code that dates back many years, we may find a few targeted areas where an increase is appropriate, and where a painful tax may be supplanted by a less egregious form of revenue generation. These should be highlighted by the reform commission. But we can not rely on tax increases in a recession. It simply doesn't work. Just like you and I, the Government at all levels must get used to spending only what they make, and borrowing carefully. It is the producer that pays for government, not the other way around. -

Indeed you did, and as far as they go, they should be looked into, but none of them can possibly amount to even a small portion of the literally billions of dollars that would be required to bring funding back to pre recession levels. I appreciate the fact that there are still a few in State Government that will ask for and potentially get the new parks, and the halls of fame. This is a small abuse, but it does indeed have to stop. I am also skeptical that changing the tax collector (HB356) to either the local municipality or a collection agency from the State DOR will somehow generate nea
