She is a show person in the true Vaudeville fashion. She's just a so-so singer/songwriter, but Liberace was just a piano player too. They are unique acts that rely upon their uniqueness, not the raw talent of the artist, to stand out. I don't like her the least bit, there are singers of her caliber in every church on Sunday, but kudos on originality and creativity.

Mr. Dis is a proud public servant and a horticultural artiest!

Steve, it's just an educated guess based upon past experience. A guess that most around here would put a paycheck on.

We use PWR (Paulding Waste Recycling). Great guys, always on time, no complaints for the 6 years we have had them. The wheel came off my can and they were there to give me a new can the next day. I was unable to take the can to the street for a few weeks and the guy came right down our drive to pick it up. Their regular rate is $45 per quarter no contracts. I won't change for a come-on introductory rate.

Man wins right to wear Pasta Strainer on head for DL photo Niko Alm, an entrepreneur, told the Austria Press Agency he had the idea when he read that headgear was allowed in official pictures only for "confessional" reasons. The atheist says he belongs to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, a light-hearted "faith" whose members call themselves Pastafarians and whose "only dogma ... is the rejection of dogma," according to its website. You can't make this stuff up. I wonder if the Douglas County Courthouse has heard about this? Pastafarians Unite!

Delta is ready when you are.

A certain very large nationally known member of the waste industry has a reputation of running all of the little guys out of business with ridiculously low introductory prices, and then when all the competition is out of the picture, they have a reputation for running the price up way above where the little guys were. I'm just sayin'......

Isn't there still a million still in the "just in case we get sued" fund?

Congrats Dis. Be safe out there.

They are going to mess around and find themselves in contempt of court and Judge Beavers is apt to throw their conniving butts in the pokey. That should get some media attention.

We watch a lot of cable stuff on free HULU since we dropped cable. Not enough difference between free HULU and HULU Plus to justify $8. JMO.
-
We may watch 2 DVD's per month. $2 extra was a good deal, but $6, not so much. It's Redbox for us when the price goes up.
-
Wow. $10 to $16? Good luck with that. I guess that I will drop back to streaming only.

Thanks, JM. I'm happy and scared spitless at the same time.

I have never seen a group of people so intent on showing their a$$ and proving their stupidity. The best response to their presence that I have seen, is when locals 'accidentally" parked behind every car with a Kansas license plate in every motel parking lot in town. They were late to the funeral.

October 31st....... retirement!

Quite true. It doesn't take too many Citations or G IV's to pump up that ad valorem, and an operation such as Hill Aircraft can turn $ millions in repairs and services per year. All in all, a well managed General Aviation operation can be a long term money maker on it's own. My personal bet is on Dobbins for the newest Commercial airport. It has a built in customer base, is underutilized by the military, and already handles large aircraft. While it may take millions to turn it into the next Hartsfield, it could become operational for a handful of gates almost immediately.

When you read and comprehend what I actually wrote, we can have a conversation. Until that time, continuation is fruitless. Pubby was quite capable of understanding what I wrote, as were, I assume many others. Enjoy the rest of your day. -
Nutin' here. Just Nutin'. I can hear y'all's storms though.

Don't need the bad but we sure need the rain. SE Paulding has missed every shower this week. In fact, it looks like we are going to miss this too.

You must be able to discern fact backed by research from opinion. Dr. Obrien's OPINION, while something that she herself believes to have possibly observed, is not backed by either her study or any evidence whatsoever. It was not even a part of her study. That is precisely my point. I am very concerned with alcohol and it's various means of destruction. I am also concerned with using facts instead of exaggeration when discussing the subject, particularly with adolescents and young adults. Do you remember a movie called "Reefer Madness"? While this is an extreme example of unproven "fa -
Don't believe everything you think. Find me one study to back this up.

I have read the entire Wake Forest study. Some researchers disagree with some of the methodology and the sampling, but I guess that is neither here or there for the purposes of our discussion. The study exists, certainly. The results were that students who mix caffeine (in any form, but most who indicated using caffeine used energy drinks) with alcohol are more likely to suffer negative consequences variously described. Given the size of the sample, the results can be viewed as statistically significant. None of the students suffered death, obviously, or they could not respond to the web q -

Honey, the names have changed, but the situation hasn't. Not one iota. Kids have pounded 151 and Mountain Dew for decades. Kids have died from alcohol poisoning, and there is no such thing as more dead. While the amount of caffeine in some newer drinks is more than Dew, the results are not. I guarantee it. These stories sensationalize a situation to sell papers and attract viewers. In as much as it serves to highlight the dangers of binge alcohol and drug abuse amongst a non-addict adolescent population, it does some good. The sensationalization, however, misleads the public and may ev
