Who would let a high school kid drive a M3???? That is the final ingredient in a recipe for disaster. Those cars are amazingly fast...give a kid a fast car and they will test it.

Most Men Don't Wash with Soap in the Restroom

If enough people would drop them in a pile by the door then maybe the merchants would get the hint and place an open top trash can in the area. -
Just means suspicious.

You could still book the cruise. The final payment deadline has nothing to do with the cutoff for booking. Many times the deals just get better and better the closer you get to the sail date.

I have no problem with the law. Seatbelts not only save lives but they help the driver stay in control of their vehicle. Many crashes could be avoided or their severity lessened if the driver could continue to control the vehicle during a crash avoidance type manuver. That is impossible from someone who is not wearing a seatbelt as they shift away for the controls and end up basically along for the ride. You can drive on your property with no headlights at night, no brakes, no seatbelt and bald tires but when you come on the public roadway I think it is reasonable to regulate things
-
Nope...same operator. They just didn't take the call until there were no 9-1-1 calls in the queue.
-
Well....I hope you are avoiding all public contact. You have just as good of a chance being exposed to the flu here as you would on a cruise.
-
Because the non-emergency line will be answered only when there are no pending emergency calls.

Not as bad as it sounds....only for dinner in the formal dining room. All of the other food choices is whenever you want. We actually went on a short cruise one time and never visited the formal dining room. We did dinner off the buffet which had many of the same entrees as the formal dining room. We could be done with dinner in 30 minutes instead of the 1 1/2 for the 5 course meal.

That seems to be the wave of the future. NCL has switched and Carnival and RCCL are experimenting with it now on certain ships. I do agree that dining at a set time can be slightly annoying at times. The only time I have problems is if we stay up late and sleep in the next morning. That makes me eat breakfast late which pushes lunch to mid afternoon. When that happens I am usually not hungry if we have the 6pm seating. It works out great with the 8Pm seating though. The newer the ship the less motion you will feel. All the newer ships are much larger and they all have under

Yeah....smaller prop planes and jets land throughout the day. They usually have 3 747's that land between noon and 2 local time. It is amazing....if you ever go it is a must see.

I was fairly apprehensive on my first cruise because I believed sea days would be like being stuck in a hotel and the only fun would would on port days. I looked at the ship as just the means of transportation. Boy was I wrong....it amazed me at how much there was to do on board the ship. You can spend 7 days and really not explore the whole thing. You can be just as active or as laid back as you want. For my family we always come out much cheaper. The food and activities on vacation add up and we do not have those expenses on a cruise. Our last trip to the beach where we stayed in a re

It is not illegal to take pictures of a house or property from the road. If it is veiwable to the public you have no expectation of privacy. If you 'confrontation' gets out of hand you will be the one in the wrong.

Airlines add surcharge for travel around holidays

Exactly. However the airlines will have to ignore the public backlash when air travel is no longer "affordable". People think its a right now. -
Airlines add surcharge for travel around holidays
Ugadawgs98 replied to OldGoat99's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Its really a catch 22 for the airlines. They are losing money every day because they sell tickets for less than their actual operating cost to try to maintain their customer base. They are going to have to look at their business model from the ground up. They either need to find ways to dramatically lower their operating costs or they will have to price the tickets at a substantially higher rate even if it places them financially out of reach for a good percentage of consumers. -
Question/Vent about traffic ticket **UPDATE**
Ugadawgs98 replied to melnsid's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Exactly the point I am trying to make. However, most people do not realize how something they that view as "minor" can be so dangerous. When they get caught they get defensive and try to place the blame on the officer....you know "they should be out catching real criminals" or "must be a quota". I wish they would just sit back and realize that the officer may have a different view on what they did which is caused by a completely different set of experiences. -
Question/Vent about traffic ticket **UPDATE**
Ugadawgs98 replied to melnsid's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The thing is no matter what you call it...gore or traffic striping....it is illegal. You can never ever cross a solid line....they are there for a reason. I can think of 3 separate laws this could be written under.... driving through gore - vehicle entered an area clearly marked to deny travel no passing zone violation....drove to the left of a double yellow line fail to maintain lane....failed to keep the vehicle within its proper lane of travel -
Question/Vent about traffic ticket **UPDATE**
Ugadawgs98 replied to melnsid's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Will all due respect...I have explained several times why many officers will act on situations such as this. While you may not think it is a big deal or see it as unsafe....we do. Why? We deal with the end result daily. So...as for using common sense. If people would just use it behind the wheel and follow the basic rules of the road maybe driving would not be so dangerous. On a daily basis I see "minor" violations of the law which end up causing accidents, injuries and fatalities. I will continue be proactive in stopping those violations even if the driver thinks that since every -
Question/Vent about traffic ticket **UPDATE**
Ugadawgs98 replied to melnsid's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Either way....it doesn't matter as I explained above. Many officers (including myself) feel that those who deliberately violate the basic rules of the road(ignoring lane markings in this case) create danger for themselves and others. We hope our intervention will correct those actions before an accident happens. I am sorry you feel those laws should not apply to your husband because he didn't cause a wreck this time. -

I was going by this post which indicates traffic was backed up and he drove through the gore to get into the turning lane. -
Question/Vent about traffic ticket **UPDATE**

Not going to speculate. I don't know if he "touched" it or blew through the entire thing to get around traffic stopped waiting to go straight....wasn't there. -
Question/Vent about traffic ticket **UPDATE**
Ugadawgs98 replied to melnsid's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I guess you missed the point. Not following one of the most important rules of the road (maintain your lane) causes wreck upon wreck...every day of the week. That conduct in itself may have lead the officer to believe you husband was not driving safely so he issued a citation in attempt to correct that behavior before someone was hurt. Your husband may be a perfect driver and this is an isolated event however the officer has no way of knowing that on the side of the road. I know I have had times where I write a lot of the same violation your husband received....it usually comes after worki -

Do you know how long it takes to get tag info back on an in-car computer? As fast as the officer can type in the 7 digits and hit enter. -
Question/Vent about traffic ticket **UPDATE**
Ugadawgs98 replied to melnsid's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I know many officers who will disagree with you. They work the wrecks everyday caused by things such as this. Even though your version of events say no one was placed in danger the very conduct itself could make many officers stop the person and enforce the law. For example...running a stop sign with no other drivers waiting is no more legal than if a school bus was waiting to turn. We have a national uproar because texting causes drivers to not maintain their lane yet when someone does it intentionally we don't think its a big deal.
