I agree....the driver changing the DVD for the kids in the back seat, the lady putting on eye shadow and the driver changing the radio are all just as dangerous as someone texting. If you are concentrating on another task while driving then your driving performance will suffer.

Waste of taxpayer money for political grandstanding.....GA already has a distracted driving law. The courts require the driver to commit a traffic infraction while the driver was engaged in other activities and not completely concentrating on controlling the vehicle. You get both citations. Not true...most traffic laws only apply to vehicles on public roadways. Very few traffic laws apply to areas off the roadway and they are all serious offenses.

That would mean drivers would actually have to understand the rules of the road...that is not the case. If we made the process harder to obtain a license lots of folks would be walking.

I am surprised that is not already a rule. It is never a good idea for anyone to discuss pending legal issues in a public forum. That is law school 101. That same logic should be applied to the representatives of the county if the county is involved in litigation.

Courthouse security has two main objectives. Prevent person unknown persons from entering courtrooms to take vengeance on judges, witnesses or defendants and to prevent weapons or other illegal items from being smuggled to persons in custody. Those are the real dangers of courthouses and it is what the officers try to prevent. The employees who work in the secure area have went through extensive screening and are already cleared. You are probably less likely to encounter some deranged employee shooting at the courthouse than you are grocery shopping or eating at a fast food resturant.

We really need to toughen our standards for issuing driving licenses. It is amazing how many people have no clue what the rules of the road are even though it is all in the drivers manual. Idiot drivers are the problem....not the roads, signs or signals. That light is flashing yellow to let traffic on 278 know they are clear to continue as the light is not operational. If people stop at that they should have their driving license revoked....no tickets just plain revoked. It should not be too much to ask that those who drive understand the responsibility they are undertaking especially

Paulding is a large county with over 900 miles of roadway. That is a huge task in the southeast where the road crews do not have the manpower or equipment to keep up like you would in an area that routinely deals with inclement weather.

I believe there is a big difference between 'disabled' and a 'quadriplegic'. Unfortunatly with her medical condition she can do nothing to care for her child and she would have to depend 100% on someone else just like she does for her care.
