That first girl looks sorta like she's happy to be there.

I was gonna write a list, but I got side-tracked by Starr & Dru's Nana's post...I'm sorry...I cannot comprehend. The brand of mayo doesn't matter? Woman, what is wrong with you? This is a Hellman's house, and there are those who swear by Duke's, but to say the brand doesn't matter? That is just WRONG! ::keelingoverinadeadfaint:: NC-17, you make me laugh as well. I always enjoy reading your perspective on things.

The Armuchee kids were just stupid, IMHO...spray-painting obscenities on the exterior of the school? Who didn't think they were gonna get in trouble for that? But my sister, who lives in Armuchee, said the funniest prank wasn't in the news. Somebody put up a For Sale sign in front of the school (it's on a very busy road) with the school's phone # as contact. Now that's what I call a creative and funny senior prank. No harm, no foul.

Yeah, I'm with FG...unless something magnificent were likely to happen in the next couple of years, I'd skip it.

Hey, that's cool to hear, Georgia Dawg. I have another friend whose dog's toenails caused a problem. Maybe it's in how well they are kept trimmed?

Use of 'gray water' for garden-can anybody confirm?

You're welcome! Put up several if you want, but put them on opposite sides of the house or whatever. They do love to fight, and if they can see one feeder from the other, it's a real nightmare. Somebody on here last year - Liberty Lady, maybe? - said hang one in the low-hanging branches of a tree so the females sitting on the nest will have one to go to without being pestered by the more aggressive males. We do love our rascally babies! -
Yeah, I'm with you. It'd take a miracle to be able to trust again and to put those images out of your head. EWWWWWWW!!!

Lt. Dan brings up a good point - if you have a dog (or dogs) that will be swimming, vinyl is not the way to go. I think everyone should post pics of their completed pools. Hmmm...maybe I'll start a topic one day if no one else does.

That was simply beautiful. I have often thought that the greatest tragedy in a person dying is not that so many people grieve deeply for them, but rather if nobody grieved for them. There's a verse in the Old Testament talking about one of the bad kings of Israel which says, "And he died, to no one's regret." What a perfectly awful thing to have written about a person. Obviously, Shannon is the polar opposite, as was my father, Lady Raider's father, et al, into infinity. What a lovely life, and I say again that it is SO COMFORTING to know that they are with the Lord and are not sick any l

Agree that he should just hush. Can't think why he's blabbing everywhere EXCEPT that whatever rehab thingy he was in could have been something like a 12-step program that encourages people in treatment to tell the truth, and keep telling the truth. In that case, I'll cut him some slack for talking. And talking. And talking. I do wish they could put their marriage back together, but as with Tiger and Elin, they would actually have to start from the ground up, since the entire thing was built on a false foundation. Maybe he will change. It has been known to happen. Not often, but it does

We built a new pool last year, and had never owned a pool before that. We investigated all types, and settled on vinyl. For our house price range, the gunite was just too prohibitively expensive up-front. It was my preference, but honestly, I just couldn't justify the money. A friend who grew up in FL and has always had a pool (and he's had both types) told me he'd choose vinyl over gunite. Ours is kidney-shaped, 16x32. We went with a LoopLoc cover, the kind mentioned by krwills. VERY sturdy, and protects the pool not only from sun, but from falling tree branches, etc. A friend has

OK, I found this link on the Div. of Public Health web site: http://health.state.ga.us/pdfs/environmental/LandUse/misc/OnsiteHomeownersGuide.pdf It won't let me copy and paste, but on page 4, it says that all waste water must go into the on-site sewer system. Still, I think I'd give them a call to be sure. Paulding HD will have an environmental health person on staff. -

RE: hummingbirds hijack - till Liberty Lady gets back to respond, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Hummers remember where they've eaten and raised before, so sometimes they're slow to notice or migrate to new feeders. If you live within 1/10 of a mile of anybody else, more than likely somebody else has a feeder up and you'll begin to get some side traffic from theirs. Just keep your feed current and they'll start to come. They'll also LOVE the flowers. FYI - they're also very territorial, so when you get more than one, they'll fight. Perfectly normal. We love the tiny things. -
I ditched FB back when they changed the privacy thing one or two times ago. I was never very impressed with it or active much, but I had it to keep up with a few friends/relatives. But dang...it's just not worth all the weirdness, so I told 'em buh-bye.

RE: divorce when spouse becomes a porn star - Just a nit, but she and Levi never married did they? At any rate, I can't think I'd care all that much to hear her speak, either, unless she's learned a LOT of good lessons she wants to pass on to others. However, she has a son to raise on her own (apparently...I haven't heard of Levi paying mega-child-support), so I'm for her doing all she can to earn money. And maybe she'll have something to say that'll help some kids younger than she.

Laura Leigh Farms - I think offering such a party would be a great idea! Something unusual. Oh, Lord have mercy, I am so naive. I had no idea what a lipstick party is. And now that I do, ewwwwwwwwwww. I think the very best thing with kids is to BE HONEST with them. Show them the WHY behind saying no - illegal for starters, and then branch out into all the other gzillions of bad things that could go along with it. They will be 18 shortly, and I think helping them understand how to make wise decisions instead of just screaming "NO" at every opportunity is a good thing to do. For those

Count me in with the creepy, inappropriate group. WAIT...that is, count me in with the group who thinks this is creepy and inappropriate. I agree with Mrsdavidj6's comments. Well said.

I, too, salute you for doing the hard thing and meeting him head-on when he has a "spell", as my mother would say. My attitude is ok, kid, you can be stubborn all you want, but you will NOT be more stubborn than me. Takes a lot of will power and patience, but if you don't do it, you're just asking for trouble. Way to go.

Wow - MJF, God bless you for being a real mother to that child when he needed it. You won't know till you get to heaven what a difference you made in that little boy's life.

Excellent posts, and MCMM had some insightful comments. This is not the life it seems (ditto music stars, actors, etc.). I personally would not want to be on the road 300 days a year, away from my family, surrounded by fame-crazed and money-crazed morons (groupies of various types), constantly hounded by the press, and all the rest. Yeah, they make a lot of money, but some things are far more valuable to me than money even IF I had that much talent.

RE: the previous BOC - I am a conservative...just a shade to the right of Antonin Scalia. I also grew up in a county where the county commission behaved like the one prior to this one, and man, that was so not cool. Esp. the part about using SPLOST money for projects other than what it was voted for to building projects that the voters voted down twice, etc. They were Democrats for years, but in the last several years, the commission has tilted right, and these new members are more responsible. At any rate, I do not appreciate my tax dollars being spent on $1M legal fees, and I especially

Has anyone noticed the new grocery store sign is gone

Two people from our subdivision (Pickett's Mill in NE Paulding) have talked to Paulding DOT and Georgia DOT engineers, and both said don't look for the widening in the north end of the county anytime soon. Several years at the earliest. And I'm guessing that the (Georgia) DOT being forced to only do projects with money they already have in hand (instead of pretending they have more than they do, which is what they were illegally doing for years) won't speed anything up, either. -
I don't believe so. I think Kindle is a proprietary thing. You can read other books with the Kindle, but not Kindle books with other readers. Let me see what I can find. After looking through several sites, I'm pretty positive that Sony won't read Amazon titles. Not sure about Amazon reading others' titles, but that does not apply to your situation. FWIW, the reviews of people who had the Sony e-reader were positive. My mother has a Kindle, which she loves.

Great question, PsychoMom! (I'm such a fan, but I promise not to be a stalker! I was thinking well, it sounds like it might be a good thing till I saw OP's response to the question. Now I have a big ol' red flag waving in my mind. They were already goobs in more ways than one, and now they want him to go do whatever work with difficult terms? I do think I'd proceed very cautiously...burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice, and all that... Edited to add: I meant the original question of PsychoMom's, although the last question was perfectly fine.
