  1. Dude! Starr & Dru's Nana gets a cookie for excellent advice!
  2. If you saved it every five minutes (I do the same thing), it should be there somewhere. Did you do a search on the hard drive? I find that sometimes I save something to a folder that I didn't realize I saved it to. When I was in the corporate world, the intern/co-op office had this sign up (they did all our grunt work): POOR PLANNING ON YOUR PART DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A CRISIS ON MY PART However, I find that when the person who signs the paycheck is the poor planner, it most certainly does constitute a crisis on my part.
  3. No, but I don't think it has anything to do with whatever the reason is you were asking.
  4. 25mcg is a pretty low dose, BUT some folks have a hypersensitivity to even that little amount, so that's why they start people out on so little. A friend was having severe reactions to even that little amount at first and they halved it and she was fine, and then she moved on up. I'm thankful it's a very treatable condition.
  5. I'm pretty sure you can make an anonymous report to DFCS. At the very least, they'll tell you if they can do anything.
  6. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 10 years ago. It took a few months for the meds to completely get regulated in my system, but once they did, I've done well. I now take the generic with no problems. I will say that I've had to have the dose upped several times; I'm now at 125mcg/day. My dr. monitors bloodwork once a year, and usually I'll notice an accompanying tiredness if the meds need to be changed. It made all the difference in the world to me. I went to the dr. because I gained about 40 lbs. in four months, with no changes in my behavior. I feel sooooooo much better now. My sym
  7. Well, your feelings are what they are. You don't have to be controlled by them, but they're not good or bad...they just are. And it sounds like they are in response to this person's behavior which wasn't so pleasant at times. Actions do have consequences. I cannot tell you how many people I came across in a former job who had no one at the end of their lives and they were pitiful and sad, but the truth of the matter almost every time - from their own lips - was that they had run everyone else off and been mean to them over the years and nobody wanted to be around them anymore. I have foun
  8. Really! Thanks, FW! I am astonished to say that I am a native Georgian and have never (to my knowledge) seen this bush. But I can totally see the resemblance to the hibiscus. The althea or Rose of Sharon bush is also of this family, but they bloom later in the summer, I think. Learn something new every day.
  9. Dear Bella, You are most definitely not alone.
  10. Yeah, I had that summer cold/bronchitis thing last week as well. ICK.
  11. Mmmmmmmmm...Hugh Laurie. Mmmmmmmmmmmm...Robert Sean Leonard. But to the topic at hand - this is very weird. Ar both bowls plastic? what type surface do they sit on - carpet, wood, tile? I agree...I think starting with the vet is the way to go.
  12. There's one between Crossroads and Mt. Tabor Road...no, I take it back...it is PAST Mt. Tabor...just past that Oliver Place subdivision on 381 on the same side of the road. I think there is another off Cedarcrest as well, but can't swear to that one.
  13. Go here to see map: http://paulding.gov/DocumentView.aspx?DID=383 It's paulding.gov under board of commissioners section. Post 4 is basically N and NW Paulding.
  14. Thanks for the input, Chainshaw dude. I do live in Post 4, and have been wondering the same thing Whitey asked. Good info.
  15. Every time I think things can't get stupider, I realize I am wrong. sigh
  16. Saw that the other day. Ol' Ray ain't afraid to speak his mind. heh
  17. I saw the same thing when I was in the corporate world, and honestly, I don't think I could ever go back. Never say never, but pretty darn close. A friend and I giggle over Dilbert just about every day because of the stupidity of the mgt. types. One other thing I did think of, and you may think this sounds goofy, but it is something to consider. When I worked in the corporate world, there was gossip, and everybody knew who was having an affair with whom, and what not. But it was sort of like reading Page Six in the NY Post; it wasn't mean, and the people involved knew everybody were ta
  18. Haven't seen a notice up anywhere, but Pickett's Mill subdivision (NE Paulding on Hwy. 92 between Crossroads and 41) will be having a subdivision-wide yard sale Friday and Saturday. Don't know how many participants, but have seen some pretty decent lists of stuff that'll be for sale. Edited to add sorry - meant to put this in Yard Sales.
  19. NC-17 makes a good point. When you're in a job like that, you're almost anonymous/faceless. The folks you're working on probably aren't all that concerned if you're wearing makeup or what your hair looks like on a particular day, so in that respect, it'd be easy. For me, anyway. heh Edited to make second sentence make a bit more sense and not sound like a moron. Don't know if it worked.
  20. I think I must be a lawn geek. I love a neat lawn. I have a mulching mower, but sometimes clippings get out into the road. If I'm on the riding one and the mulcher thingy isn't attached, I run down the side of the road and blow it all back into the yard. Or I get the leaf blower and blow everything out of the road and then work my way back up to the house blowing off the driveway. NOTE: I live on a very quiet street in a very quiet subdivision, so it's easy for me to do this. If I lived where I felt afraid to mow the grass, I wouldn't be nearly so concerned about getting it out of the r
  21. Some of the fancy x-ray tech thingies pay pretty good money. I should think the biggest difference would involve the work environment...you already know what the corporate world is like. In a dr. ofc. or hospital, you would still be in contact with people all day long, but it would be more of a process job vs. a project job. That is, 40 bone scans today, 40 mammograms tomorrow, etc. Pretty fast-paced, but not enough to run you crazy. Also, the medical job will come with a lot less bovine excrement (won't be totally without, but will be a lot less). I have worked in both fields, so I know
  22. Tough lady. The very best kind.
  23. Excellent news! Glad to see somebody else has recognized your great work! Rock on, dude...
