  1. I've had DirecTV for seven years ever since I moved out here to the boonies in NE Paulding ( ) and the dorks at Comcast didn't know if they were the cable provider out here. LOVE DirecTV. I would NEVER go back to cable. Have only had good responses from their customer service as well.
  2. Agreed on their being great teens around. Also agreed on sportsmanship, as evidenced by the pitcher and the ump following the blown call in last night's Detroit game that knocked out the guy of a perfect game.
  3. NO WAY. I don't want to have surgery for something necessary, much less something optional. As far as plastic surgery goes, if it's a medical necessity for some reason (which I consider reduction surgery to be, or reconstruction after breast cancer), then I'm all for it. But for purely cosmetic reasons, NO. LPPT makes a fantastic point...the right kind of person will love you just as you are. And if you're not confident before you get implants, you won't be confident after you have implants. You'll just get more stares and whistles.
  4. Man...watched this over and over last night. TOO SAD!!! But gotta say - with the hooligans running around in pro sports of all types today, it was FANTASTIC to see the class and honor with which both men behaved last night. I could kiss the ump for his precious comments, and the pitcher...man, he was awesome. I hope he goes on to major major greatness.
  5. Small hijack: I saw your avatar, and DUDE...that was the saddest thing ever. At least Joyce was a good dude about it, unlike say, Joe West, or some of the other jerks probably would have been. I thought the pitcher's attitude was marvelous. God bless him. End of small hijack.
  6. Well, I just have to say again that not only is he handsome, but he just looks totally sweet. You can be proud. (BTW - I don't sweat small things like hair styles. I'm sure it was ultra hot...I can't STAND mine to touch my ears or neck in the hot weather.) I'm so glad you are close to him. You will never regret the effort you have poured into his life.
  7. Well, sorry to be the negative nellie in this thread, but the new do makes me wince. Can't help it...don't like it. But that's not what stood out to me - what stood out to me is that he is so darn ADORABLE!!! Oh, have mercy. You could do anything with his hair and he'd look great, and he looks like a sweet kid, to boot. So, y'all don't mind me and have fun with the hair...he is just way handsome.
  8. You can't visualize a library in that dirt pile? I don't know what that says about you.
  9. They're little bitty, Mrs. B - about 1" long, if that. But if you step on one, it'll sting you, as I found out last year (by accident). It wasn't as bad as a bee sting, though, and didn't last nearly as long.
  10. Hey, Chainsaw Dude - stop with the common sense. Yer makin' my head hurt. Sorry...make that Chainshaw...just realized my error.
  11. I thought this thread was gonna be about Princess Di's dress (currently on display at the Civic Center)...imagine my surprise! hahahahaha Slightly different thread. P. S. I love Leslie Nielsen. LOVE HIM.
  12. Forget the jet. Who gets to keep that $9M house in Southern California?
  13. If the people leaving are here illegally (no matter who they are), then I think the decrease of the drain on our medical and education resources would more than offset any housing downside. FOR THE RECORD - I love immigrants...immigration is what's made this country great, and all of us (unless you're full-blooded Indian, and some would include them) have immigrants in our family tree. I hope anybody who wants to come here can do so - but legally. Also as to the OP's question of what if they go home - if "they" are from Mexico, I really don't see that happening. Mexico is near a state o
  14. Question: If your husband was only 20 ft. away (three strides for a man), why didn't he do something - either to your kid or to stop the guy? I'm not being accusatory here...just wondering. Does he think you overreacted, or does he think the other guy overreacted, or what is his input? Based on all you've said, I think both parties are at fault here. I think the other guy was WAY out of line to cuss at and spank your kid the way you say he did. The cussing in anger in such a situation is beyond uncouth, and disciplining in this manner is inappropriate, esp. with your husband standing
  15. God bless these fine ladies.
  16. Well, crap, Riograce...I thought I held the record for the saddest, most pathetic stress test performance ever. However, I didn't pass out...I went either two or three minutes that seemed like two or three freaking YEARS!!! GAH!!! NC, the treadmill is at a slight incline, and they start you off real slow. WHICH IS A LIE!!! They say, ok, now, we'll start you real slow and then we'll gradually speed up and see how you do. Well, they started out at a fast clip, and then sped it up from there. I wasn't running, but I was in mortal agony by the time they said I had done the minimum. Then, I
  17. That is a toughie. But if I were convinced (even with no proof) of something bad going on in the home, I think I'd have to make the report to DFCS and/or the school and/or the police. Then, if they look into it and nothing is amiss, then you've done all you could. But I always err on the side of the child. Always. If they didn't have kids and she wanted to stay with him and let him ruin her life, fine...she's an adult. But those kids are innocent...they need safety and security. They didn't ask to be brought into the situation, and have no control over what happens to them. Someone nee
  18. Hey, Subby - thanks for the explanation on retention v. detention ponds. I have often wondered about that! (Weird things make me go, "Hmmmm". hahahaha
  19. HAHAHAHAHAHA I'm sorry you were so dreadfully sick, but that was just funny. I can picture him shopping for those. hahahaha
  20. Woo hoo! Also, we have a LOT of frogs that have been talking in the last couple of weeks...love to hear them! And I saw my first mimosa blooms today and my first crape myrtle blooms. Woo hoo! Summer is here!
  21. Agree totally with Celeste. We took my baby nephew for swimming lessons at the Y in Rome, and he did GREAT. He's 3 now, and is so totally not afraid of the water (or wawer, as he calls it). The Y only did their baby/toddler lessons in spring, but the ones in this area may do differently. I totally believe in this. But I think we need an updated picture any time you ask a baby question. Not being a stalker...but she was just so darned precious in that first photo you posted of her!
  22. Oh, right...forgot about the DL photo thingy. Dang...if - GOD FORBID - I were ever to appear in such a publication and they used my DL photo, it really would look like a booking photo. I'm one of those awful DL photo people.
  23. Oh, yeah, you still gots de love. Miracle Whip, in my mind, isn't mayonnaise, so I don't count it. (I think of it more of a dressing-like spread.) My sister-in-law likes it, too, and I still love her. And she's even a yankee...double-whammy!
