I'm not disagreeing with you here. BUT since there are two sides to every story, why not let those two sides play out in court instead of wasting $1.5M of taxpayer dollars to keep it OUT of court? Every citizen has the right of redress vis a vis grievances against the government, and the judge already ruled that the county is in violation of the anti-SLAPP (or whatever it is) law. Surepip could be totally in the wrong...I don't know. But for him not to have his day in court at my expense when that is unconstitutional sort of hacks me off.
