  1. Some lawmakers or other are introducing legislation which would make it illegal for the NLRB to pull stunts like this. But I don't expect it to go anywhere as long as the President and House are Democrats.
  2. Man, I hate to hear this. No doubt she was living in fear. Too bad somebody didn't take a baseball bat to him before it got this far.
  3. Herman is my first and only choice right now. He is AWESOME. I'm seeing some great buzz about him on national conservative sites from people who heretofore had never heard of him...I'm very excited. I think the debate was a great boost for him. (And Newt is pro-life? Who knew? Still doesn't make me like him.)
  4. Wow. Awesome statements there. I think Congress (ok, gubment at every level) is nothing but a wretched hive of scum and villainy.
  5. MC, I don't usually comment on these, but I almost always read them. Thanks for posting faithfully. Quite encouraging.
  6. Which is actually what we need, but I don't think he's serious about running...I think he's just messin' with everybody. But I wouldn't rule him out personally, esp. if it came down to some of the soggy-cucumber-and-mayonnaise-sammich GOP establishment honchos (Romney, Pawlenty, et al) v. him.
  7. See, I don't think he's all that ultra-right-wing. I'd probably like him more if he were. But he's been all kissy-kissy with Nancy Pelosi over climate change, and backed a WAY liberal candidate in NY state for Congress because she was the establishment candidate. I'll call him a lot of things, but ultra-right-winger isn't one of them.
  8. I think former member wants NEwt to be the GOP nominee because she knows he couldn't win. I can't think what would make me vote for him. Herman's my man and if he doesn't get the nomination, I'll write in somebody before I'll vote for Newt or any of the other milquetoast GOPers.
  9. And this is the crux of the matter...it's a MADE-UP HOLIDAY. And for those of you moms who feel unappreciated or whatever, think of all the women out here (like me) who would love to have children, but who don't have any for whatever reason. I'm not grumbling about my life, because I have a good life, but nonetheless, it pays to not take your blessings for granted.
  10. That right there is funny! And smart of her!
  11. I'm serious...I'd have RATHER the SO got me than my parents.
  12. I never open my door to people I don't know. And I have GREAT security service with Ackerman, if anybody's looking for a company. $20/month, I think (I pay a year at a time, so I've lost track).
  13. I believe the Pentagon has been using Usama the entire time, but only FNC (I hear; I don't watch them) has ever used it with a U. I'm guessing other networks started using Usama this week because everybody kept getting Osama and Obama confused.
  14. Proverbs 24 does indeed say that. However, Proverbs also says: 21:15 - "When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers." and 28:28 - "When the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding; but when the wicked perish, the righteous thrive." There is a difference between bearing a personal grudge against an enemy and being happy when something bad happens to them (schadenfraude) and being happy when justice is done and evil is vanquished. I view the destruction of bin Laden as the latter, and while I have no wish to see his body or rally in the streets,
  15. Oh, honey, I cried myself to sleep every night because you weren't here. I LOVE the pics, and I'm glad you got to go for such a nice break! You deserved it, and I'm glad the goggies had a good time.
  16. Laurie, did your basement problems get ok?
  17. Subby will tell you - as he told me - to get a bottle of Stabil at AutoZone or somewhere for your small engine gas. It's about $12 a bottle, but you don't use much per can of gas, and itll save your small engines, which will be destroyed by the Ethanol gas. Dang stupid politicians.
  18. That's the chick (in the blue gravy boat) who is mentioned in all the stories as having a post-cocaine nose job for the wedding.
  19. It looked like a pillbox stapled to her forehead. She looked hideous. I would sooner wear a hat made by a duck than wear anything associated with her. Not a fan am I. I also think the hat thing has been in vogue for quite some time, well before Camilla burst onto the scene. She may have started the feather in the hat thing, though...she has a fondness for those, I've noticed. Both girls looked hideously goofy, and that is a surprise to me, because they generally dress with GREAT fashion sense. Sad. That antler thing was awful. AWFUL!!!
