  1. Sorry...I didn't see hers. I posted something about it the other day, but didn't have the phone number.
  2. I don't know what happened, but dang this makes me sad.
  3. I drove by the Kennesaw airport today and FedEx Ground still has their Now Hiring sign up. # is 678-290-7117. The sign has been up for a long time. I'd think that would be a decent place to work.
  4. My only advice would be to get there early enough to account for any lostness. This airport is truly AWFUL. It is dirty and crowded and dirty and just a mess. I feel like I'm in a sewer every time I go there. I know it's old compared to some (like the very nice Denver airport I was in recently), but they could at LEAST keep it clean. :sigh: I have flown Southwest out of Birmingham before...by the time you account for parking/shuttle/getting to gate, it's not much more trouble to drive over there.
  5. HAHAHAHAA :wipingdietcokeoffmonitor: hahaahahahaaaa
  6. Oh, I'm so sorry. If it helps any, I can pretty much guarantee that they haven't given you another thought and are off looking for another easy mark who'll buy their sob story and guilt trip crap. It's only the nice guys (YOU) who feel badly about stuff like this. I really am sorry...go hug on a kitten or do something special for yourself to help cleanse your mind and heart of this ridiculousness. WHAT A GOOB!!! You, dearest, behaved beautifully.
  7. I hate sunburn!!! Misery...
  8. I live in NE Paulding, but I think the prettiest scenery in the county is the west side of the county, from north to south. Start at 61 and just go down and then go down 120...or when you hit 278 (a lovely drive in and of itself, esp. in fall), turn over to 101/113 near the Polk Co. line and go south. Pretty country. I love barns (esp. old barns).
  9. I'm sure DSL is slower than cable modem, and AT&T can be a major pain in the patootie (although since I singed their eyebrows a couple of years ago over random stupid illegitimate charges, they've been good). But DirecTV is DA BOMB!!! Ours goes out way less than any cable we have ever had. During the snow, it went out till I swept the snow off the dish, and it was fine. It goes out sometimes (not all the time) in a really heavy rain, but then reaquires the signal after a few minutes. I would NEVER EVER EVER go back to cable.
  10. If my son were taking pictures of an airport and a power plant and driving a car with illegal plates on it, yes, I would expect him to be detained and questioned, no matter what his appearance. I suspect the car is what got him detained, not the other. At least that is the actual GROUNDS that got him detained.
  11. Thanks, Mrs. H - I will NEVER FORGET.
  12. You can call the water dept.; if they're having troubles, they'll prolly have somebody answering phones. We had a problem on the weekend awhile back and I talked to a real person.
  13. They were tourists. Nothing to see here. Move along.
  14. They've had problems with mgt for a good while, and people really don't like to give to orgs where they're unsure of how their money is going to be used. Not casting aspersions...just saying what's gone on has had a lot of folks unhappy with them. Sad.
  15. I'm sorry you're going through this. DANG...nice, good-hearted, giving people always seem to be on the receiving end of the guilt-trippers. But buck up, little camper - you were in the RIGHT, and you tried to do good deeds for someone in need. Just because they choose to still be in need doesn't mean you have to keep doing for them. As another poster said, might be a good idea to fade into the shadows. :sigh:
  16. Which is your right (and that person's in the OP's topic). But to then take unemployment (which is against the rules, if I'm not mistaken...to turn down a reasonable job offer, I mean) and to expect handouts from friends is just wrong.
  17. So let me get this straight - this person left previous job voluntarily, has been helped financially and effort-wise by you and others, is on unemployment but turned down a job making $37,000 plus benefits, is now angry with you for not continuing to help, and you want to know if you're crazy for not helping? OH, HELL, NO.
  18. Post of the day (and worthy of spewage of diet coke on monitor). Rome has an airport. (Shocking, I know, that somebody else would have one.) This isn't a store - it's a regional (or something akin to that) distribution center.
  19. Oh, man...the fact she has a kid makes me think there was something ULTRA SERIOUSLY wrong in her head. I've been there...I've been to the depths of darkness and can understand the thought processes. But to go off and leave a kid tells me she was in really sad shape. I'm so sorry...so terribly sorry. I'll keep this family in my prayers. :cray:
  20. I see what you did there. :snicker:
