I think she can be charged with statutory rape, which in CA, is a misdemeanor. I should think her idea of a multi-million-dollar payout for the next 18 years would trump that. He's denied it, of course. Time will tell...she'll either be proven a moron or he'll be proven a liar.
  2. Fascinating. I have no interest in doing it at this time, so I'd just forget the information. But you're allowed to put it in the body of the note; just not in the topic title if they're not commerce members.
  3. So is this a dermatologist thing (assuming you're not as brave as NC)?
  4. OK, so where does one go to have one's eyeliner and eyebrows tattooed on? I can see the eyebrows...I'd probably be able to stand that. But didn't the eyeliner hurt like hades? :shuddering:
  5. That is GREAT news, Elyssa! Please do keep us posted on your progress. Are you at home, or in a facility still? I think I remember your saying you had moved back to Maine to be nearer family...
  6. I use L'oreal. I haven't noticed it smearing. I cannot do the liquid. My SIL does it PERFECTLY every time. I just can't. I'd look like I had on zombie makeup if I did that.
  7. Boy, that brings back memories. I did not know it was filmed in Vinings.
  8. My money's on you, chica. He best be lookin' over his shoulder.
  9. Cute. Maybe he'll be back in the spring. I'm assuming they hibernate in winter?
  10. hahahahahahahahahaaa Good one. ahhahahaaaa
  11. No, dear, he was being sarcastic. If you have 159 GB available, you have more than enough room for whatever your kid will need. (1 GB = 1000 MB. See this link for more explanation: http://www.whatsabyte.com/ )
  12. Figures you would like the disgusting things, you weirdo. But you're in luck. My mother loves them, too (and has already scarfed down about three of them since they came back the other day), and I love her, so my love for you shall remain undiminished by this silliness.
  13. You are correct on that, ma'am. I'm so sorry.
  14. Oh, wow. Aren't you also recovering from an aneurysm? I will keep you in my prayers. Surely the loss of a child is the greatest and most profound grief a person can experience...
  15. If his family has money to keep paying Berry's fees. However, if the money isn't there (and the publicity won't be), he'll be outta there.
  16. Exactly. I am a death penalty proponent for capital crimes, but the way it's currently administered is ludicrous. First, I am very glad about the DNA advances, and I do agree that a poor person has less chance of a fair trial than someone who can afford excellent attorneys. BUT those things aside, this waiting for 20-25 years before carrying out the execution is just crazy. Alabama executed a man last night or the night before who killed his baby in 2005, I think it was. So six years. I don't know if he dropped all appeals or whatever, but that timeframe is FAR more in line with what it
  17. I have no snowflakes, so I shall refrain from any comments on that. However, in answer to your original question, I've never directly stopped anyone, but I do have a heightened sense of awareness when I'm out in public. I'm fascinated with the topic of security in general (personal, home, group, public, whatever), and I've read up on it a good bit. Stranger abductions (contrary to popular belief) are a small percentage of kidnappings, but they do still happen on occasion, and it does pay to be aware. I wouldn't hesitate to intervene if I thought something looked amiss. I love that Wal-Mar
  18. Update: Cobb jury sentenced him to death (deliberated about three hours). http://www.ajc.com/news/cobb/cobb-jury-gives-drucker-1206330.html
  19. She also said she didn't believe alcohol would change a person enough to do something like harm her baby. Yeah, I have some stories to tell her if she really believes that. I've seen it up close and personal. And it ain't pretty. She is not helping herself with this. Of course, the person suffering most - as always - is that precious baby.
  20. http://www.ajc.com/news/cobb/former-youth-pastor-found-1198165.html She is not innocent in her own situation, but she didn't make him shoot her dealer. Too bad he WOULD not let law enforcement take care of him.
  21. One article I read talked about his sermonizing...I wasn't too terribly impressed. Struck me as very opportunistic. RE: Ambien - I can take (literally) 1/4 of a pill and be GONE for hours. My father, OTOH, would be climbing the WALLS if he took one, and I've heard of several other people having that reaction. I suspect that must be the effect you mention.
