However, in answer to your original question, I've never directly stopped anyone, but I do have a heightened sense of awareness when I'm out in public. I'm fascinated with the topic of security in general (personal, home, group, public, whatever), and I've read up on it a good bit. Stranger abductions (contrary to popular belief) are a small percentage of kidnappings, but they do still happen on occasion, and it does pay to be aware.
