You are NOT Wacko!! If it makes you feel any better, my MIL called here at 8 this morning checking on me and my dad called soon after checking on us. I texted my oldest, lives near Huntsville AL, and checked on her. God help me when my DS goes into the Navy and I can't do the Mom Thing to make sure he is okay.

Pate's Appliance.

Funny that you ask this. My son is leaving now to take his Prom tux back to Pat's Apparel. They are the there. Her prices are MUCH more reasonable than other places, your son doesn't have to go to another county on a Wed. to pick up his tux, the service is Wonderful, and you keep the money local and in the county. I Totally recommend Pat's for any formal wear....dresses or tux. They also have some nice purses other accessories there.

I soooo wish we could do this, but the plan my husband's company has for their 401k does not allow this. We are having to do a hardship withdrawal from his 401k in order to pay up front the medical expenses that are being charged in order for him to have oral surgery that needs to be done as soon as possible. I am in the last stages of filling out the paperwork and want to make sure that we have enough taxes taken out now so that we don't have to pay Uncle Sam this time next year.
-
What is the standard percentage state and federal tax withholdings when withdrawing funds from a 401k on a hardship basis? Thanks in advance.

No, I wouldn't. As a teacher, I am very specific when I talk to the parents to inform them of the punishment their child Will Be receiving. If this one child is being punished for "acting like the rest of the class", I would have some serious questions as a parent as to why my child is being punished at all. As a parent, I make my kids tell me why they are being punished so that there is a very clear understanding about the entire situation.

They are only closing P.B. Ritch and the old W.C. Abney/New Hope center. They are going to be doing some remodeling of Hiram Elem. The closings will not take place until the 12/13 school year.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I generally have 2 groups of kids.... the ones that are terrified that I am going to call/contact their parents for something negative and those that don't give a care if I do contact their parents at all. If the child is still having problems behaving then I blame the Parent. Bust his REAR for not behaving and every time he has to write sentences, you bust it again....each time a little harder. Sooner or later, he will get the hint that pain is associated with misbehavior. With my own kids, spanking start out on the outside of their pants...each time I have to

Glad you made it to FL safe and sound. What part of FL are you living in? For some reason, it didn't click with me that you would be moving down there this soon. I agree with LR, please send pictures. As for what is going on around here...um, did you read about the sub bus driver going nuts on Friday? As for anything else that typical PC...I can't think of anything. Please keep in touch.

Ok, I know that I could find out in other ways, but I figured since I was here and reading all of this, I figured I would ask...besides, I suspect that I am not the only one with this question.... What days and hours are they open? Thinking...if they are open on Mondays....that could very well be a staple on Dh's Monday Honey do list...since this is one of his off days and the rest of us are at school Never mind....I checked out their website that was posted. I REALLY like the $59 package. As for Dh's Honey do list....I can go by there one evening or even on

How Far Should The Rights Of Children Go When
akre0023 replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Oh PLEASE....I know all about accommodations....making sure special needs students get them is what I do all day long. This is completely different. Yes...actually, at one time, I thought about teaching at a DOD school....the money is Excellent. But I forwent the money so that I could be here and take care of my own child. What a novel idea for some parents. My thought is that if I were this child's parents, and knowing how things happen in schools, I would not put all this burden on the teachers. What happens if the teacher or team of teachers have to all be out on the same day...and ye -
How Far Should The Rights Of Children Go When
akre0023 replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
In today's classroom, that is not necessarily so. Before long ALL children will be in co taught classes...even the ones we speak of here, the more severe. Students being placed in classrooms this day in time is a Complete numbers game. I know, I play it every day. We used to be able to place kids in specific periods because that is where the child would be most successful. That no longer happens. We now place kids where we have a seat for them, do everything we can to help the child if this is not the best placement for him/her and go on from there. I have 2 students in one of my classe -
I haven't seen the sign. That does sound pretty funny though. The only part I see of the expansion is where it continues at 92/Bill Carruth. I know very little if anything about this project. Why do you say it will not work as planned? Just curious.

Have fun. I got to be on a jury one time for a cival case and truly enjoyed it. That was about 15 or so years ago. I would love to have jury duty again, but right now is not a good time with my profession and CRCT coming up on us.

Rabbid Racoon Found in West Paulding County
akre0023 replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
When is or was the next Rabbies clinic where people can get their animals vaccinated for a reduced cost? Just wondering. -
I completely understand how you feel. I was just telling my 17 yr old son, who has decided that he is going Navy after high school, that my students don't understand why I stop Every day and say the Pledge at school/work. When I explain that both of my dads, my father in law, my brother, my brother in law, and soon my own son has, does, or will be putting their lives on the line Every Single day so that we can have the freedoms we do....some of them seem to have some kind of a clue as to why I do what I do. I starting crying when I read the OP. It sounds like something any of my fellas

What time does it open?

Best of luck for you. I know this is exciting and scary at the same time. I am like you.....scared to make major changes until I Have to and then I have found out that the change really wasn't that huge after all. God's timing is Everything. I have a feeling I maybe coming down your way in a few years....if DS gets stationed in Jacksonville with the Navy. How will all of this affect you getting married and your son?
-
I am glad to know that I am not the only one having a hard time dealing with their kids growing up. My 2 youngest are about to embark on very important years of their lives. My son will be starting his Sr. year in high school this year. He has decided to go Navy after high school either via ROTC scholarship or enlisted. He is hoping to do well on the Nuke test this summer. We have been doing a lot of talking about all of that lately. My youngest will be starting K in the Fall. She is Really excited about starting "big kid" school. That is what she wants to talk about...getting to ride t

How honest have you been with your children?
akre0023 replied to catalanojo's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We have been honest with the oldest 2 as things have came up and age appropriate. DH was a lot more wild than I was so he has more experience to tell the kids about what not to do from learning the hard way. Like others, I feel that if we are honest with our kids, they are more likely to be honest and open with us. -
Where is this taking place at?
