Definitely! One of the few things that I can actually cook...I use turkey bacon now and its just as great. Drizzle some EVOO, sprinkle on some black pepper, wrap 3-4 stalks with a strip of bacon...mmmmmmmmmm.

I'm working on a project for school that discusses local transportation projects. Focusing on the East Hiram Parkway, I've discovered that approximately $11Million of the overall funding comes from the Feds, but the bulk of the remaining $14Million is only described as 'other' (Linky,page 3). Is the county taking out a long term loan, raising taxes, what? Any clue? Many thanks.

Holy cow, that was an incredible game. When you think of extra innings games, you generally think of low-scoring affairs...not on the game you mentioned. The Mets beat the Braves 16-13....here is the box score: Braves vs Mets, July 4, 1985 Current Braves pitching coach Roger McDowell pitched in that game for the Mets.

Just a shade under 7 hours, 6 hours and 53 minutes if memory serves (too lazy to look it up for certainty). It was the MLB on Fox afternoon game, and the length of the game wiped out all of their evening programming. Serves them right for showing the Mets in this market.

Crazy game...I remember watching a Dodgers and Astros game back in the 80's that went somewhere in the low 20 inning range. I remember Fernando Valenzuela played first base and the winning hit by the Astros went right over his head.

Taking grad courses online through Troy University...I like it, well as much as one can like school and the endeavor to get a piece of paper to get (or attempt to get) a good job.

My family said that it was a strong rolling motion rather than a large jolt. I had a friend who was on a ride at Disneyland; they shut down all the rides, but there wasn't any damage in the L.A. Metro. I had a large bookshelf fall on me during the last large desert quake 18 years ago; these were approximatively the same magnitude.

Yep, you got it. When I was deployed overseas, I even saw our Coasties over there, helping with Customs and security operations of ports in the Persian Gulf. I don't think they deploy overseas often, but depending on the rate (?), they may have to head out of port on a fairly regular basis. I'm interested in earning a USCG commission after grad school, but who knows?

Oh, and the last recruiting contact I had was Petty Officer Trout (believe it or not!) out of the office in Tucker.

It's a great branch of the military, and I would have been interested in joining the USCG had I not ended up in the Air Force. Is he looking at Active Duty or Reserves?

I get terrible reception in the southern part of Hiram. I have to stand in one section of my house in order to get reception, otherwise the calls get dropped or cut out constantly. I'm switching to Verizon as soon as I can.
