  1. I've lived all over the country, but GA is the worst place for the littering I've witnessed by far. I've seen so many people throw trash out of their cars or just drop trash behind them as they walk. Even the kids are guilty. There is always trash on my property where they stand while waiting for the school bus; pop-tart wrappers, energy drinks, gum wrappers. Is it ego? Laziness or lack of upbringing? I just don't get why you can't walk to the nearest trash can or hold your trash until you get home.
  2. His string of 'good luck' will run out eventually. Hopefully he'll be tagged with a large fine before hurting others or himself.
  3. Thanks all for sharing your suggestions, I appreciate it. Even though this is an internship, I'm hoping that it could turn into a job PLUS I have another interview scheduled for later this week that is more local (which would be NICE). Cross your fingers!
  4. If you were leaving from Hiram headed to a office near the Clairmont Rd offramp with I-85, what route would you take? Is going through the Downtown Connector the "fastest" option? Would I-20 to Moreland Ave/Briarcliff Rd north be a decent alternative? I'd like to be at my destination by 7AM, and hopefully heading home by 4PM. It looks like the bus leaving Hiram could be an option, but it would require 2 transfers and would take about an hour and 40 minutes. I've landed an internship that might lead to a "real" job, but I'm not looking forward to this hellish commute, so suggestions on
  5. We could have Mardi Gras at my house...I'll supply the beads and y'all can walk on by! We're going to have to move this topic to the 'Tonk soon...
  6. Of course on the other side of the coin, Vancouver is facing a lack of snow in the mountains north of the city. Due to the mud, they're calling it the "Brown Games" at Cypress Mountain. Last month was one of the warmest January's on record in British Columbia. Winter Olympics, No Snow
  7. I saw the plaque the other day at the Douglas Sheriffs Department. I didn't live here at the time, so I didn't know the background. Thanks for sharing, and RIP Deputy Gammill.
  8. Same as this situation: http://www.wsbtv.com/news/21544521/detail.html Different religion, same screwball.
  9. It's a play on a very old botching of my name, my favorite number (which is also a combination of my favorite numbers and adding them together gets another great number...I'm not superstitious at all ), and needless to say, I am super!
  10. I love eFax. I used it all the time at my last employer.
  11. Freaking wow. That's insane. Your story, for the win. The craziest experience for me on a plane was on the flight back from my deployment to SW Asia after a pitstop in Ireland. The commander of our squadron forgot to tell the troops to limit their libations, and you can imagine what happened next after 150 people had access to alcohol after months without. Lucky for me, after a few pints of Guinness and cider, I passed out, waking up just was we were on approach to Baltimore. Others weren't so lucky...there were many Article 15s handed out after that flight for fighting, lewd behavior, an
  12. Sorry to hear that. Welcome aboard the U.S.S. Looking For Work. For me, it's kinda like the Hotel California...you can check out anytime you like...but you can never leave. But, something good is going to happen soon; I can feel it.
  13. 2 more episodes to go in season 4 of 'Dexter'. I know what's coming...and I don't like it.
  14. I don't particularly like the moves the county has made in this regard, but help me connect the dots as to how President Obama has anything to do with the way a GOP dominated county in a GOP dominated state is administered?
  15. Their website is less than impressive as well. Even if you are fortunate enough to be cleared by the DOL to apply for a position, you are often back in the same boat as everyone else. In fact, I've seen jobs on the DOL site that are also listed on careerbuilder. The only luck that I've had in getting interviews has been with a company that assists veterans in job placement, but even then, there wasn't anything here in the Atlanta area. The closest position that fit my skills was in Birmingham, but the company cancelled the opening that I interviewed for. It will cost me an arm and a leg to mov
  16. That's my fire hydrant! No, that MY fire hydrant! While both sides of the aisle continue to claim their territory, we're the ones getting soaked.
  17. I'll give a Big recommendation to All Pro Glass Man. He was awesome...fixed my neighbor's garage window after some dummy kicked up a rock while some nameless moron they were mowing...
  18. Mine was over 36 days; it doesn't make my increase feel as bad as it initially looked.
  19. That's too funny...our own version of Dexter, sans the slice and dice.
  20. Well, I could complain...but then I read your posts. I don't feel like complaining any more.
  21. Mine says < -30 ( 1 ) 10 > I now know you can't use spoonerisms on PCom.
