  1. I'm a victim of violent crime and I am truly shocked that anyone would WANT to look at these kids of pictures... While I'm too tired to think too far into the legal ramifications, I will say that our society as a whole has just become very disturbing. Once upon a time Betty Page's little paddle was provocative...now, scat and corpses are what's needed to turn people on. I watched DR PHIL the other day and he had *high school* children talking about how they are having "back door" sex. I didn't even know people REALLY did that until I was well into my 20's. If you've got a grand laying
  2. As you mentioned, they can't prevent you from working. I've signed non-competes in some form in nearly every job I've been in (I'm in software), I've never had any issues. The only folks that I've ever seen have issues are top sales or executives...and it's been the result of a competitor taking talent from an organization. They usually drag out but don't result in anything. Just my experience.
  3. Standard separation agreements should say things like, you won't sue, you won't say disparaging comments, it should speak to severance and how vacation, benefits, stocks, payouts will be handled. It should NOT speak about UI. In any case, they don't generally hold up in right to work states, so I wouldn't worry too much about the non-competes and what not. Unless he's at an executive level or dealing with the design of IP, chances are that no one will care.
  4. You betta back the hell up....Lee is my man! We're facebook friends!!!
  5. I must have missed that she needs surgery. We will put her in our prayers for a speedy recovery.
  6. I am usually out of town for the great Atlanta spring festivals...but this year I am finally able to enjoy! So... They put the Dogwood Festival and the Sweetwater 420 Festival on the same dang weekend. I'm going to have to get all crafty with my planning.
  7. And no more Two Coreys!!!! I loved that show!
  8. I know that you didn't ask for non-business, but I thought that I'd chime in and tell you that I LOVE City Search and I use it all the time. BUT, it's more of a social thing to look up restaurants, night clubs, bars, hot spots. I wouldn't worry *too* much about your business being harmed from bad info. However, you might want to consider playing nice and getting it corrected, as it is wildly popular. Yelp and Kudzu are two other local websites that will almost always be consulted before I spend money!
  9. I had one...when I was 20. I dunno, I guess with a career, kid, etc. ANY kind of affair seems exhausting to me.
  10. You're right. I'm really sorry that I was thinking about all the single parents/working parents that will have to figure out what to do for 8 hours a day...or leave their children home alone. I mean, it's not like there's a history of drugs or teen pregnancy on the rise, especially in rural counties. We've already cut most of the art programs, why not give our kids more free time to sit in front of the TV/video games? Imagine what the public school system could save if we didn't have to have special schools/programs/teachers for all the "special needs" kids that have become the byproduct
  11. I thought that all teachers were required to be CPR, AED and first aid certified? If not, they should be. Will the school board be offering paid child care for those Fridays or Mondays? Or will that fall to the parent? I'm all for creating more latch-key/unsupervised kids and teens. Hopefully we'll also get that desirable rise in drugs, gangs and teen pregnancy!
  12. I am looking to get my son into a Boy Scouts program. I'm wondering what to expect? How often to the meet? How often do they have trips? Should I wait until after baseball? Is there an enrollment "time"? Or can you enroll throughout the year?
  13. I meant the girl that had Kicks call to get her a day off...after her boss already said no.
  14. "everything happens for a reason" Yeah, the reason is that you're an idiot.
  15. just stick around...and see for yourself. I just let a pcommer join my FB (which I RARELY do), only to find out that we have friends in common!!!!
  16. It is not very often that you see pcom threads take a turn for the better. We all need to remember licking puppies.
  17. You know I get it...but to some degree I think we evolve a little. My kid is going to wear a seat belt, a helmet, I'm going to try to keep him away from train tracks, etc. While I can appreciate that we all lived through it, these are different times. And for the older ones, here's the simple truth...they're NOT licking batteries and climbing trees when you're not paying attention, they're huffing gas and knocking up chicks. Sadly, these are the times we live. I think some parents do go overboard, but is it really THAT big a deal to put a helmet on your child? I mean, is it going to
  18. I don't think he's lived in London...I think that he and his wife were planning a trip there at some point? I'm sure he'll chime in, he's the Uncle Matt (Fragle Rock reference) of pcom.
  19. If you were fired, it should be an even easier claim. I thought that the only way that could deny you is if you quit?
  20. It will be centered in the Underground area and Atlantic Station areas, which honestly look like Freaknik any given weekend. So sad what happened to Atlantic Station.
  21. I should add that I would never go to a hoaky place like Rainforest without kids...so, my post is exclusive to travel involving kids. I'm not a fan of paying $11 a drink just because it comes with a monkey hanging on the side. The food isn't terrible, but it's a minimal step up from bar food.
  22. do you really need pcom to tell you what to do in this case? Yes, of course you should report it. If there is nothing wrong, nothing should come of it.
