Absolutely. My oldest had a very extensive vocabulary by the time he was 18 mos-2 years old. My daughter did the same as well but, there is a 5 year gap between them. My third child was born 13 years after our daughter. So he too had a very good vocabulary. The only reason he was in pre-k was b/c I was working just like I did with my other two. The only difference is that DH and I worked opposite shifts with the older ones. I guess that could be the reason for the difference reading. It's just that I see so many parents stressing over their 3-4 year olds going to pre-k and it really is not req

The rec fourm on p'com is very informative. All the parks post info there as well as their web pages.

Yep

I wasn't bashing. I would have called the police and let them know that there is a frozen pond and I am concerned that there may be kids on the 4wheelers on it. They could have gone and checked it out. If there were no kids on it fine, But if they were then a life may have been saved. JMHO In your previous post you said you could see the tracks on the lake. So could you or could you not see if they were on the lake? Kids or not the police should have been called.

Exactly, we have a large patch that has not melted too.
-
Please tell me you called 911. BEFORE posting on here. After all two teens just lost their lives after being on a pond. If you didn't then you were just as irresponsible.
-
Yep, just checked it and we are closed. There is still a big ice patch on Pine Shadows just before/after depending on which way you are going the hill where the lakes are. I guess if the buses can't get into the neighborhoods school will be closed.

I know both of you wonderful loving women and BB you are so right about NJ. It is a shame that some one who has only posted 20 times and mostly in this thread is being defended by some others. I say split this topic in two and leave the true sympathy post here and send the others to the political forum for that is where they belong.

Prayers for the families. My son and I went to a Steven Curtis Chapman concert 1yr ago this past August. This was after the tragic death of his little girl. I will always remember what he said. " People say she died to young. But, God knows the time and the place of our lives. He knows the number of hairs on our head. So when they say Maria died too soon and she didn't get to live out her life, I know that God knew how long her life was going to be and so she did live her full life. I will see her when I get to heaven." I can't help but to think of this whenever I hear about such young

Were you an only child or the youngest perhaps? Just messin with you. BTW 278, 61, 92, major roads get deiced first. Then secoundary roads like Ridge Road, Hiram Sudie and the like. I think that is correct. I don't expect to see them on my road any time soon and I forgot to get dog food. I hope Nebo is OK tommarrow. I could at least get to Ingalls. I don't think I would want to take the chance to go to Kroger. -
I have always commented there are only 2 types of people who drive in our winter mix......Yankees and Fools, and I consider myself neither. -surpip You are so right. My DD said that they are watching the idiots try to get out of her neighborhood. We both figured they were fools or yanks. She lives near Bells Ferry. Her neighborhood is nothing but hills. 61 near NG Ball field must be closed or somthing. We have had some traffic come down Pine Shadows.

I was 10 and lived in FL. Oh I guess you didn't mean me We were here for 93 and this FL girl thought it was the coolest thing. DH even walked all the way to the WH just to get coffee. Our dogs had a blast and our kids had so much fun. -
10 year old DS made it with everything in tact. However, it was a little dicey this morning before we left. I don't do grouchy and pouty b/c the snow outlook sucks.

Where's that at? I KNOW it ain't Fl. Big sis is freezing her hiney off in WPB. But the pic does make me miss home. DS said it will not snow b/c everyone is talking it up and sending out the snow go away vibes. So he is resigned to the FACT that he will be in school tomorrow. -
B for me

I was just thinking about this this AM. I will be telling DH to lock the gate now. Maybe with 5 dogs alarms we won't get hit. Of corse the sign in our yard might be the detterant we all need.
-
OK, I'll but that. Because those were basically the same reason that my youngest went. I just don't understand the stress that parents have over this. Why would you not teach your child these things at home? Wether or not they were in pre-k. I just did it with all three b/c I thought that was what I should do.
-
I'm not real sure why everyone thinks their kid has to go to pre-k. The law says that you don't have to start your child in school until they are 6 and then they are only required to go until they are 16. You also DO NOT need to provide them with your childs SS#. Go to several and watch the interaction between the teachers and the children. That being stated. I have three kids the two older kids did not go to pre-k and were reading 2nd grade books when they started Kindergarden. They knew their ABC and numbers as well as how to write their names. Child number three went to pre-k only b/c

Our loan is a VA insured loan and according to the above would not qualfiy. Thanks though. Otherwise all else fits.
-
I called my mortgage company and they said that those government programs are only if you are in foreclosure or can't work any thing out. There is also an issue if your loan is a VA loan. Now that I stated that. MNN, really??????? Just walk away? Be the same as the irresponsible people? Not everyone thinks of their house as just a house. Some of us know that it is a home and planned on staying in the home for life. To me that is worth fighting for. So to the OP tell him to keep fighting if it is in his best interest. Hope all works out.

Pixie looks like my Camo. I miss her so much

She is beautiful. She didn't know if she wanted to be a Tortie or a True calico.

Most likely they are just domestic cats. No particular breed. Solid cats can throw calico. It is a recessive gene.
