  1. Go to Cedartown. The office is 20 minutes from downtown Dallas. You are literally in and out in 10 minutes!
  2. So sorry! I'll pray for your mom and that you are better quickly so that you can visit her!
  3. This is really cool and impressive. But, I gotta tell you, we have high school players right here in Paulding County who can do this and other tricks. You'll see 'em on the sidelines warming up!
  4. I can't tell you how many times my husband would call me, "Turn your radio to the Kimmer!" Most of the time, he was laughing so hard I couldn't understand him! He was definitely fun!
  5. Okay, so to tell this story, I have to admit something about myself. All of my life, I've had an aversion to "foam." You know, the stuff that those egg crate mattress pads are made out of. Literally, if I touch it, it gives me the worst case of heebie jeebies EVER! It makes my teeth hurt. Can't stand it! Really....I cannot stress enough how bad it is! Even looking at the stuff makes me think about what it feels like, and I just shiver. Well, my husband has known about this, because he's had to "rescue" me from time to time! Until about a year ago, my children had no idea. I c
  6. Deputies and medical personnel have been dispatched.
  7. Have you seen her? She could eat a RAISIN and gain weight! Don't worry. You're good. Talk to me when you gain TWENTY POUNDS!!!
  8. My son attended Joe M Turner's "Abra-Camp-Dabra!" this week! He had a BLAST, and is now entertaining me with all the great stuff he learned. He really likes Mr. Joe, and I'm so glad he had a chance to do this this week!
  9. I use Firefox, and I have it up. Across the top (below the initial banner - where it shows what thread you're reading) click on the words "Paulding.com". That should take you to where you can click on the Countywide News. Go from there!
  10. I think this is NC-17's point (and correct me if I'm wrong.) Accidents are events which are out of one's control. Nothing you can do could change the event or the outcome. Driving drunk is a choice. Not taking responsibility for your children by buckling them in properly is a choice. Obviously the unwelcome consequences of these (and other) actions could have been avoided, therefore not an "accident." And that is my opinion.
  11. I, too, add my condolences to the family. Although I've never had the privilege to meet Ashton or his family, I feel as though I know them from reading about his journey on Pcom. I can only imagine the pain the family is experiencing. My prayers for comfort and peace are yours.
  12. My heart breaks for you. I will lift you and your family up in prayer as you grieve and search for peace over the coming days and months. Your father was obviously a wonderful man, and gave you a wonderful life!
  13. I had to turn it off for a little while to make some calls. My husband called, and he came through there right after it happened. He said it looked really bad. The rescue had just arrived, and the re-routed them onto Sam Alexander to Nebo.
  14. The domestic call was at Shipp. I think the MVA is at Sam Alexander. (I could be wrong!)
  15. I didn't hear it all, because I've been taking phone calls, but I think they said a tractor was involved. Signal 48 (death) has been confirmed.
  16. I'm glad that the driver of the minivan survived. But Paulding dispatched this as help with a "fatality." That's the only reason I posted it as such.
  17. So glad to hear Mr. Jones has survived. Even though Paulding dispatched our deputy to help Cobb with a "fatality," I thought it was strange that I never heard them say on the Cobb frequency that he had died. The radio traffic was broken at times, though. They did give the wife's name and phone number and asked the dispatcher to find her to help with the children. They had minor injuries, but the father was unconscious. I told my husband that I couldn't imagine getting that phone call.
  18. Wow! It sounds like the scanner broke loose right after I turned it off last night. I heard the initial call out to Carrington Chase. The complainant called to say that 20-25 cars were blocking driveways and a fire hydrant. Turned out to be much more than that!
  19. I listened to the archives for quite awhile. They asked them to reroute because the road was going to be closed for a long time. The radio traffic was broken at times. I never heard what types of vehicles were involved. They did say it was 2 vehicles with heavy front end damage. Also, a long trailer. They were contacting one person regarding the patients.
  20. They haven't said anything else. Being a Cobb Co. wreck, we're not going to have any radio traffic about it. I did find it interesting that dispatch told the deputy en route to East Paulding Dr that Cobb wanted to know when he arrived so they could send a Cobb officer to talk to him. After that, the Paulding officer asked for another deputy to meet with him at East Paulding so that they could talk.
  21. Cobb County has asked for traffic control on Hwy 120 from Paulding SO. They have a fatality, and need no traffic to come past East Paulding Drive on Hwy 120.
  22. You don't win because you didn't use the "proper" Mary Kay name!
  23. Yeah, I've noticed how much quicker it's moving as well. It took 5 hours for it to move from Arkansas to the Mississippi/Alabama border. And now look! I don't think we're going to need to wait until tonight for the storm! And it's holding together and getting bigger!
