I'm Floored

Wow! The wind has been picking up over the last couple of hours, even though the worst of it seems to be a ways off still. Our bell is broken on the front door, so I just have to listen out for customers walking in (I can't see them from my office.) But the way the wind hits the building, I keep thinking the door is opening. I've been up and down all day! Oh well, at least I've gotten my workout! That's it. It's a mean looking one, isn't it?! Maybe we should have a Pcom party in the shelter tonight. Do you think Subby would change his plans and entertain us all?

I think supper may be sandwiches in the storm shelter tonight! I've got the chairs in there, but I need to remember to take some candles & blankets down when I get home!

I agree. If that line on the Mississippi/Alabama border holds together, that's going to be one nasty storm!

I agree it should be a choice (for adults.) I also think it should be a choice with consequences. Lower insurance premiums would be a good place to start. (But then you have the whole issue of how this would be regulated. License, insurance & seatbelt checkpoints? - see other thread.) I wear my seatbelt EVERY time I'm in a car. I have since I was 19 years old. We lost 3 friends in a year period, and none of them were wearing a seatbelt. My friends and I made a pact to begin wearing our seatbelts, and to hold each other accountable. It was a GOOD choice, but a choice nonet

Some of our deputies are having a hard time getting a vehicle to stop. They are in pursuit!

I heard a call that they were transporting one patient, but I'm not sure if it's this one or not (a couple of med calls came in at the same time.) The fact that he was conscious was a good sign!

Patient was repairing a microwave at one of the businesses in the Storage XXtra on Douglasville Hwy near Ridge Rd. He is conscious, but having difficulty breathing. He has burns to the hands.

I'm watching 11. They haven't said anything about Paulding schools. There is a ticker at the bottom in red with Paulding, but that is for a weather alert until 4:30am. The blue band is for closings, and they haven't said anything about Paulding.

I love Neighborhood Cafe for breakfast! But being in the company of so many great people when we eat there is even better!!!

Me, too! Although, I gotta tell you, I think I may be better to just stay up Saturday night. I'm so not a morning person! I wonder what the movie will be like when all of us attending the funeral look like we have hangovers?!?!

I have also always had positive experiences with our deputies here in Paulding. I'm glad you had a great ending to a sensitive situation!

I know they released the channel for regular radio traffic. Some units are staying in the area to watch.

No, Senator Rd runs between Bakers Bridge (Dallas-Nebo South) and Cohran Store Rd. It is close to Dugan Ele & SPHS.

I googled it, and it said Acworth, but then I heard traffic in regard to Senator Rd & Blake Dr. That's South Paulding.

The channel is cleared for emergency traffic only. I don't know what happened, but now they have many on scene, and a dog is on the ground. They are obviously chasing someone, I just don't know for what purpose, or where it is. Anybody?

I hear the Pickens County calls a lot. What confuses me is that traffic is louder, and covers our traffic when it comes through. But, of course, I have no idea how that technology works! But thanks for posting the info when you're listening. I like knowing what's going on in the county!

Pickens County radio traffic bleeds through often on our scanner. I think this is an out of county call.

I had to take a couple of calls, and paused the scanner, so I'm behind. I just heard a helicopter fly over - I hope it was this one. Deputies just advised they had made contact with the suspect driver, and that he is en route to their location.
