  1. When we came home last night, about 11 or so, there was a nasty strange smell outside. It smelled like burning rank garbage mixed with a burnt oil smell. It was nauseating. 61S area near the Hiram Sudie/Scoggins intersection.
  2. What a great guy! Seems like he has a sense of humor and a REALLY good sense of how to treat the woman he loves! Way to put in the effort....hope my girls are this lucky! I did too but was too chicken to post
  3. We tried the Italian herb. We mixed it with hot noodles and a little of the starchy pasta water, shredded chicken and some broccoli. It made a wonderful dinner with a salad and bread. The garlic is my grandmothers fav! She smears it on a toasted english muffin with whatever sandwich meat she has, covers it with spinach, a slice of provolone or something similar, sticks it back under the broiler until melted. Nice little open face sammie for lunch!
  4. I was too chicken to be horrible. One reason I got married so young. We had intended on getting married anyway, just not at 19 and 22. It's all been good though, well mostly Mine were so strict that my bridesmaids went out the night before the wedding without me. I wasn't allowed to go bc I had been out the night before...
  5. Oh they both were and are cute! Trust me, that's not an ugly baby....shoulda seen some of the doozies I did!
  6. Awww...thanks, that's sweet but I doubt it. The parentals were VERY strict. No dances, no football games, no clubs, after school activities, no sports, only church friends allowed to sleepover, curfew for dates was 10 until JR year then it went to 11, date nights could only be Fri or Sat and only 1 per w/e, Sr prom only and that was only after begging-literally, etc...hard not to be invisible when you can't be seen It's the complete opposite with my kids. We are never home bc of doing something they are involved in.
  7. Nobody.... Guess that explains the over compensating with my kids!
  8. I worked in a hospital dept that often treated newborns. To answer the OP's question.... OH MY YES! Edited to change wording.
  9. Friend of mine refused to pay their HOA for 2 years. This was because the tennis court had not been taken care of as far as regular maintenance. Lights were blown out, grass was growing out of control, kids had tagged the courts w/spray paint, etc. The pool and seating area is extremely too small for the neighborhood. You could never get a seat, weren't allowed to bring your own, the pool was too crowded for safety and unruly kids were often unattended. It had not been properly treated on a regular basis sometimes it would be a bit greenish, sometimes smelled rank, weeds were growing as high a
  10. The Marietta Country Club has 3 smaller rooms ranging from a formal setting with crystal chandeliers (the Azalea Room) to the informal lower level Mountain View room that overlooks the golf course. The Mtn View room opens to a patio, the Azalea Room opens to a veranda that has a view of Kennesaw Mtn. The Kennesaw bar (the 3rd room) is more of a formal type sports bar with mahogony sideboard, big screen tv, antique coctail seating, grand piano, etc....this opens up to a private veranda that overlooks the golf course and Kennesaw Mtn. The Marietta Country Club has excellent food too! Beautiful p
  11. Michaels sometimes has them for you to decorate.
  12. I guess Dollar General and McDonald's had more faith in the DOT since they built locations with restrictions on entering and exiting in one direction. We were told it would be a divided hwy, that's the reasoning behind the entrances and exits. Hope this doesn't happen for quite some time! Last time we lived near an area to be widened to 4 lanes hubby just HAD to move!
  13. Mine like Dixieland Fun Park in Fayetteville. It's on GA HWY 85 (NOT I-85). They have go karts, antique cars like at Six Flags, a roller coaster, scrambler, sky coaster, zip line, bumper boats etc....it's $21/pp for an all day pass. That's a good deal considering we can drop that in nothing flat just for a couple of hours on the karts at Mountasia. They are having a fireworks display on Memorial Day in honor of S. Ga soldiers. They also have a fireworks display 2x's a month set to rock music with dancing laser lights and dancing waters. http://www.dixielandfunpark.com/Home.html
  14. I just got a call from a neighbor that the Somersby subdivision entrance is blocked by police or sheriff cars with lights going. I am not at home and can't find out anything. I'm wondering IF I should head home or not... can anybody shed some light here? Thanks
  15. Well.....I'm sending DD over to your house! All I have heard for 3 days is "I REALLY need some wings, PALEEEEASSSSE, can I have some wings"?!
  16. Baked white snapper DH caught in Fla, rice pilaf, steamed veggies, mini garlic cheese biscuits and blueberry crumble bars.
  17. My linkGhost Tours $7.50/pp My link Scuba Class $15/pp My link Great pkg of zip line, whitewater rafting, tubing and horseback riding $75/pp My link Helicopter tour $150/per 2 people My link $25/pp My link$20/pp My girls LOVE this place. 2 of my three are going to take the aerial silk class this summer....they are so excited! If you were willing to drive a little farther, Rickwood Caverns and Cathedral Caverns are in Alabama and are beautiful places, if you like that kinda thing. It is hard to find something when they are older. Luckliy, mine like museums, the theater
  18. Not too good for PCHS students north of the high school....they had EOCT's this morning. Hope all fared well in the accident. Prayers....
  19. I had heard how great Cincinnati Skyline Chili was but there wasn't any around here. Then I noticed they have it in a can at Kroger. Bought it, tried it, and you're right...it definitely is not what I'm used to. It has baking spices in it such as cinnamon, clove and allspice. Think I'll stick with Steak and Shake when I need a dose of chili 3 ways
  20. If this is near the Paulding Forest WMA you're probably going to meet with opposition from hunters. I know there is usually a Christmas Eve and New Years Eve ride...that's hunting season. Just food for thought....
  21. How old and do you know her sizes? I may have some clothes, shoes and school stuff to get her through the rest of the year and toys if she's younger. They need something to take their mind off of the situation. We had a fire 4 years ago and it's especially rough those first few days....you need everything! A couple of friends brought my kids some coloring books, crayons and 2 Barbie's, you wouldn't believe how much of a stress reliever that was to them. Prayers....
  22. I thought they were the same, just different names above and below the Mason Dixon line.
