  1. Drink cups of hot (like coffee or tea temp) of lemon water. The more real lemon juice the better. NO artificial lemon juice, NO SUGAR!
  2. 1)Not surprised about the handicapped parking, happens ALL of the time Actually saw a biker take up 2 handicapped spots at the 61 Food Lion this week. 2)I don't blame them for packing heat at the Rockmart Wally World. DH won't even go there after dark! Scary place, lots of meth transactions take place there....per an authority figure I know
  3. Ok, help me out. I'm either dumb or blind, some would say both ....I don't see anything out of the ordinary.
  4. We've had Teddy Bear, Dwarf and Fancy Hamsters over the years. The TB and Fancy nibbled at times but the Dwarf did actually bite a couple of times. We always made sure we washed our hands WELL before holding them bc the vet said if there is a hint of salt on your hands (even naturally from sweat) they will nibble to bite thinking you're food or a salt lick. We put a salt wheel in the cage and I guess bc they had constant access to salt, the biting incidents became almost non-existent. We used the DH no scent hunting soap to wash with so there would be no floral or fruity flavor on us either.
  5. I only tried it when I felt one coming on, never as a preventative. The herbalist said they had people taking it with success for preventative measures. I know most of my triggers so I don't feel I need a daily preventative. Good luck, hope it works for you.
  6. Is it ok if I post this on fb? I know several teachers that may like to have one.
  7. And he wouldn't speak to them when they went to his home because he was taking a nap I think HE put the spin on it about her throwing her phone out the window because he couldn't appear worried or muster up a few tears. He SOOOO is involved, directly or indirectly. Those poor children
  8. It's the vinegar in it. We didn't have any vinegar at the beach but when DD got stung by a jellyfish I smeared her with mustard and it worked the same as vinegar.
  9. A friend suggested I try it a while back for my migraines. I didn't get relief any quicker than with drugs, actually slower than. However, it is an herbal substance so no pharmaceuticals. It works better with kids and as a daily preventative for migraines.
  10. Drinking green tea will help relieve allergy attacks, Chamomile tea will calm digestion problems/spasms, Apple cider vinegar is good for heartburn, Tart cherry juice is good for sore muscles, Flax seed added to your favorite foods will help with hot flashes, a couple spoons of tumeric added to foods help arthritis and for diabetics....eating a handful of raw almonds before eating foods such as potatoes and bread can help stabilize blood sugar.
  11. My granny would ask us to get her something from the frigidare. I was a teenager before I realized that was the brand name and not another form of refrigerator!
  12. I'll have to remember that about nosebleeds. Middle DD has severe ones ALL of the time! The only thing we've ever done that helps is a shot or two of nose spray. The bleach does work for poison oak and ivy. My mom is so allergic she can smell it burning and break out. She will get in a lukewarm shower, take a scrubbie puff and "exfoliate" her skin then dab straight bleach on the affected area. Burns like a son of a gun for a second or two but is SOO much better than the alternative! Probably not a good one to post for kids to see but...if you ever want to "have a fever" as an option to get ou
  13. So you eat supper for lunch? Growing up, it was breakfast, lunch and supper except on Sundays....that was Sunday Chicken Dinner we ate after church. Because it was after the lunch hour or 12 but before supper hour of 5 when we finally ate.
  14. GD, cooter, titties, adding or changing letters that ARE NOT supposed to be there ie...Walmarks! Aksed rather than asked, dinner (it's supper), sumpin or nuttin, sear instead of sir, 'er instead of there, soda or pop instead of Coke, this is the south it's ALL Coke no matter the flavor or brand! AND using "I" when it should be "me" or vice versa!!! My worst nightmare: Why don't you and me run in 'er and aksed if they need sumpin from Walmakrs for dinner. GD it, I want a pop so bad my titties is a tinglin!! Yes sear, ain't nuttin' better!
  15. Eucerin Itch Relief Lotion and Tagamet if you feel it's more of a reaction than just a burn. I used both of these for an allergic reaction, works great! Tagamet does the same as Benadryl just w/o the drowsiness. I think Eucerin also makes an itch relief body wash. If your burn hurts, rub a thick layer of Milk of Magnesia on your skin....takes the heat out! Feel better!
  16. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr Sisk, Barbara, Susan, Helen and Debbie!!! Dr Sisk and I worked at Cobb Hospital back in the early '80s. He was making a really good name for himself. So, when I got pregnant in '86 I went to him. I've used him ever since.... 25 years in July!!! My oldest begged to continue as a patient when she turned 18! My SIL used him for her 3, my sister uses him, my friend uses him for her 2, my sister's SIL uses him for her 3....he caught an unusual case of pneumonia in my nephew, could've been deadly. They do take Aetna, your wait time is always short and if you call at 8am th
  17. My mom soaks her feet in Listerine for nail fungus. I use apple cider vinegar and equal parts water for a scalp rinse on DD. Preparation H under the eyes shrinks puffiness. Cinnamon oil is a good lip plumper and tinter....stings a bit. Vinegar for fire ant bites, jellyfish and wasp stings. Baking soda will strip hair product build up off of hair and make it soft. Coca Cola will strip oily film off your windshield and is a good meat tenderizer. Peroxide poured onto white clothing will remove blood stains. Spraying a thin coat of hair spray on the kiddies hair, before they go to school, will det
  18. Last year we did the B1G1 to get in the park then upgraded to passes for 19.99 each. That was a total of 180.00 if we had of bought passes straight out it would've been 200.00 plus tax. I guess they got wise to that because this year upgrade cost was 29.99 each and you had to make a $20+ ticket purchase. The B1G1 ticket receipts are 49.99 on one and 0.00 on the other. The best buy is at the end of the season when they offer a four pack of passes for like $50 each and a free parking pass! When DD worked the shows there, she got us passes that were free or GREATLY reduced. It's been so long ago
  19. Other Thyroid symptoms I was unaware of are.....being cold and losing the last 1/3 of your eyebrows. I have just about every symptom of a thyroid condition but NONE of my tests ever come back bad! SO frustrating not knowing what the deal is. My dr gave me a script for some shampoo that cost $339 my part, AFTER insurance!! I refused it, he called in a solution to put on my scalp 2x's a day. I hope this works. I was told a solution of equal parts apple cider vinegar and water is a good scalp solution, detangler, conditioner and product build up stripper. You can also use Listerine.
  20. There was something on here last night that the Subway and the store on the corner of Cohran Store rd and Ridge were robbed. The store was an armed robbery, not sure about the Subway or if it was the same people. The thread also stated a tree had fallen at Scoggins/120. While a man was helping to remove it, he had a heart attack....EMS was called. Any updates on him? Hope he fared well
  21. Hahaha...my 15yo was the same way! When she was 3 we gave her the very first dose. That child didn't sleep for 3 days, litterally! She would bang her head against the oven door, walk around with her eyes half opened, would scream once in a while for no reason, thrashed about when held, etc...it was BAD!!! I have never had it until last year. I had an allergic reaction to some meds and was told to take it. I felt things crawling on me and would freak out! I heard things and became VERY paranoid. Guess DD got it from me.... Beleive it or not, if you ever need it for an allergic reaction i
  22. I know where you're coming from! My oldest is a 2004 graduate my youngest will be a 2018 grad!
  23. I have smelled it in the car rider line at Allgood....couldn't pinpoint the location though bc of the wind. I'm HIGHLY allergic and school was one of the places I knew I could rest easy with the windows down. Guess not! As for the lunch ladies....I've never seen them smoke at school. I do know that one of them lives down the street from the school. They usually jump in her vehicle and drive down to her house, sit in her driveway, smoke and then return to school. All in all, about 10-15min tops. I have wanted to tell them I appreciate them doing this but haven't had the opportunity.
