    You're overthinking this. If two interchangable two word phrases bother people that much, that is a them problem, not a me problem. If you go into a thank you situation with a specific reply that will satisfy you, you're probably better off not saying thank you to begin with.

    There are only 40 foreign "politicians" invited, most of which are from Brittish territories. I think the queen of Spain was the only one invited from any country of note.

    I share the same upbringing. I was baptized Catholic, but that's about it. My parents never emphasized the religous aspects of any holiday, but we celebrated them none the less. I have no religon to this day and still have no problem celebrating these holidays. Any day you can eat like a pig and get drunk (and sometimes get a day off) is okay by me.
