Amen, sister!

I have lived here for 11 years and I have no complaints. Not one of my friends or family has a network like P.com where they can get recommendations for anything in a few hours time. I've made friends here and the only place else that I'd like to live is in the mountains. As long as my Mom lives, we will be here where we are comfortable!

What do you like best about your vehicle?
retiredteacher replied to storylady's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't have an expensive car but I love everything about it. I'm short and I can raise the seat. It's a small wagon and with the back seats down will carry a ton of stuff, especially now when I'm buying big bags of things for the garden! I'm going to drive it until the wheels fall off, then I may make a planter out of it. Oh, it gets great gas mileage and is very reliable. -
How to cook rutabagas, just the plain old fashioned way?

I like all of those EXCEPT rutabagas. My mom used to cook them and the smell would gag me! -

Get a shovel. Dig a big hole in the back yard WAAAAY away from the house. Throw the nasty, stinky things in the hole! Cover them up and put a heavy rock on the top. This is the ONLY way to prepare rutabagas! -

I just read today that if you pin a small safety pin to the seam inside your pants leg, it will disperse static. Or the seam of a dress or skirt. Haven't tried it yet.

My friend was having pain in the front of her thigh. She said she couldn't sleep and the pain seemed to ripple up and down the thigh. Turned out she has shingles. Docs scratched their heads until one of them noticed the first blister!

I'm doing mine on Ancestry.com. They give you a 2-week free trial to get you started. However, it's only $20 per month after that and I HAD to sign up because I am addicted now. They tie you to all of these other peoples' trees that are researching the same people. I may have to go with the international program soon because my Dad's line came out of Canada and I've hit a wall! I'm doing all of the states research I can before I pay the extra for International access. Good luck! If you can't subscribe after the free trial, send me what you have on someone and I'll gladly look the

My brother had one briefly, but it was not good. I could only hear half of what he was saying.

I threw a handful of the sunflower seeds right outside the french doors and Pepper has been glued to the door chattering at the birds! She's got her own winter olympics!

My mom's a "say-rah" "with an h" as she always says! My dad was a yankee and said say-rah. I called a student that once and she yelped, "What did you call me?" Welcome to our little community! It's the source for all kinds of things and some good fun, too.
