<Rant ON> Ok, I understand they needed to change the lineups, but that was weeks ago. We subscribe to Broadcast Basic, the local stations only. Supposed to be both Analog and Digital versions of them. During the great change up, our channels moved around, but we figured it out. Labor Day suddenly *all* the channels went active. Figured it was one of those "Try all the variety Comcast can offer" deals that would vanish after the long weekend, OK. Two weeks later, they are still there. WTH? Now this week, *all* the digital channels, including the ones I'm supposed to

Keep the ideas coming people!!! I'm writing as fast as I can!!

Be interesting if Church signs during the weekend are also covered by this. We have 4 or 5 churches in the NE Paulding area with signs all over the place.

I have a hard time believing the broadcast stations would do something that stupid... The broadcast networks are losing viewers like crazy, to give up on all cable subscribers that still have analog TVs would be suicide in my estimation. They will either lose the viewer completely since they can't get the program or if they are forced to upgrade their TV and Cable service and have a zillion other choices, odds are they will lose that viewer in that case also to one of the specialty channels. When we got to the grandparents, the kids love watching all the channels we don't have... History, D

We're on Comcast and still get the broadcast channels (1-18 or so) in analog.

He's not one of me, if I even tried to get a two million dollar loan they'd laugh me all the way out of the banks. Sounds like Deal and Roy are both "Fat Cats". Better still, I wonder what kind of person it takes to not only to *forget* your business owes 2 million to someone, you don't bother having your accountant look over the disclosure before you file it. Something ain't quite right here....

Just my two cents (and almost worth it I have no problem with increasing the fees for services provided by the state to a reasonable amount. My complaint was the $30 a year 'fee' tacked onto the special car tags. The initial fee to cover production of the tag is reasonable, a yearly gouge fee to allow you to keep it is not. Don't forget that because it's a 'fee' in theory in exchange for a service, it is not tax deductible, so you will pay 6% Georgia income tax on that money as well as Federal tax at your normal level. I'll be turning my tag in next year along with lots of

OK, I'm curious, for those of you that are saying that the bill is higher than last year, are you saying that the total tax due is higher or just the county portion? Are you over 65/70 and have reduced/no school tax? Was your property re-assessed this year?
-
<Sigh> One more time ... Let's look at how the county is financed. The county budget comes first and it controls the amount of taxes that the people of this county will pay. If the budget goes up, it's a tax increase, if the budget goes down, it's a tax decrease on a county wide basis. However, the choice was made many years ago that the property owners should pay a percentage of the county budgets based on the value of property that they own. You own more valuable property, you pay more. The "tax rates" are nothing more than ratios of property value to the county budget to en

If you have a CD drive for it, boot from the Windows CD and start the install, it will wipe out anything it doesn't recognize when you tell it to install. Kinda like a virus.

burning of Qurans on Sept. 11 by a Florida church
The Sound Guy replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I thought the guy was acting a little wacked before, after reading that I'm SURE he's a LOT wacked. He's as screwed up as the radicals he's complaining about. -
And his twin that was out at the polling places after the primary collecting vote totals...

I saw on the community channel tonight that Dallas City has already declared that Halloween *will* be celebrated on Sat the 30th downtown. Or else.

Hmmmm. I wonder if I can say I'm burning all these limbs and yard trash I have in protest of something? I'm ready to get rid of them... edit to add: Hmmm, could I protest the burn ban? -
If I recall, make your post in the Community Chest forum. Check out the instructions here:

Especially when anyone that knows Christianity knows that Jesus pushed his view on no one, he laid it out in front of them and let them take it or leave it. Cramming a belief down someone's throat has very rarely, if ever, worked. Oh yea, just look to Ireland/Britain if you want to see Catholics and Protestants doing their best to kill each other. I guess that means that all Christians are mad bombers also? -
Son had a run in with the the neighbor's fence. He got it from Home Depot but they don't sell it any more. Anyone know a local company that might have a a couple of pieces on their lot? 2"x6"x16' Thanks SG

You are the second person that has said that to me, but looking at last year's bill (which plainly says"Gold Labrador Retriever" on it, only has the Tax, the standard $20 fee and the mail fee. This years has Tax, the $20 fag fee, Mail fee and $35 "Special Tag Annual Fee". I think the Annual Charge for the special tags was dropped a few years ago since it's ridiculous, but our lovely state revenuers have brought it back again.
