  1. Hmmm. Thinking about it I wonder if they can't get their vote totals to tally up and since these crappy voting machines don't have a paper trail, they are are having a hard time finding the error.
  2. OK, can someone explain to me how with electronic voting and reporting that they can still have only counted 10 of 14 voting sites?
  3. I asked my wife and son, and none of us saw any notice at McClure that she had withdrawn. I never looked at the race closely before the election since once I saw her on the ballot, I planned to vote for her. There were plenty of other races for me to spend my time on.
  4. I was 7 and at my grandparents. My grandfather was glued to the TV. He yelled at us saying it was incredible and he might never get to see it again so shut up!! I miss him. Little did I realize that within 3 years, it WAS the last chance to see it live. Can you imagine what it would cost for today's government to try to do a project like that? It would be so over engineered it would never get off the ground.
  5. Don't know if you already have these but For McClure I numbers I got: Jason - 260 Barnett - 444 Cosgrove - 72 Crowe - 225 Donovan - 501 Lane - 300 Plumby - 197 SPLOST Yes - 657 No - 540 They had one machine up there twice, I skipped it, but wonder how they had two tapes from the same machine without double counting it. Anyone been a poll worker before and know how that works?
  6. I just got back from McClure MS a little while ago and there was a continuous flow of people in and out to vote. The poll workers stated it had be a solid turn out all day. One person heard a friend had waited over an hour to vote in Marietta, sounds like America is finally realizing that if they want control of the parties, they have to vote in the Primaries, the main election is almost too late.
  7. It's my son's first election since he turned 18... I look forward to us going to the polls together this afternoon!
  8. Man, I want the contract to print 1099s for the government. Sounds like a big time growth industry.
  9. Just resigned with ATT for another 2 years this summer and regretting it already. !#$%$#!@# rebates on the phones got rejected the first time. I've called and we'll see if it goes through this time. I really hate they are those bloody "debit cards" instead of just sending a check. When this contract is over for these phones, we're out of here...
  10. I dunno... Its coming in handy today. I have a copy of ballot in front of me, if you have a robot call me, I scratch your name off the ballot. So far, it's decided 2 different races just today.
  11. Any comments on the Attorney General race? I see that one as being important as the state tries to fight off the encroachment of Washington. I don't have a clue who would be best.
  12. Yea, with one day to go I'm still undecided. I waver back and forth, I suspect I won't decided until I get there.
  13. A lot of little kids are killed by their mother's boyfriends also, so what's your point? You think we should deport all boyfriends also? There are a lot of violent and dangerous citizens also. The point is that preventing crime by ANYONE is the PCSO mandate. That's hard enough without them trying to take on the on the Federal Govt's role in immigration and if they do it, is probably a exercise of tilting at windmills when you consider that with Obama in office, the feds will never take illegal immigration seriously. Tell you what, you think your candidate will agree to the half
  14. I have to agree, every time my wife has needed assistance when I'm out of town, the PCSO has been there. Thanks Officers.
  15. Anyone looking for a promise that property taxes are never going up until the end of time is not altogether in touch with reality. However, without this SPLOST passing, I can say that I *do* expect to hear David raise the millage rate to make up for the lost revenue. With all the cuts in the budget in the last two years, there is not a lot of optional services left in the main budget. The SPLOST has been paying for a lot of paving and public safety in the last five years that didn't have to come from the property owners, however, without it, those needs will still have to be met, so t
  16. I'm pretty close to McClure. How many voting districts are there in the county now? It seems a lot of them got modified in the last few years.
  17. Ah found it. Way to hide it while still meeting the letter of the law. He's worthless.
  18. Heh, Heh, Heh, ya, looks like the cover is working!! Sure, the Hiram Walmart is always that busy only because of the good deals there.
  19. Well, if the flier under discussion is the "Hey Big Spender" one, the only identifying mark on it was the address: P.O. Box 920425, Norcross, Ga 30010 A quick Google of that address gives me this on the Ga Sect of State website: John W. Oxendine P.O. Box 920425 Norcross, GA 30010 E-Mail: johnox@earthlink.net Party: Republican Age: 48 Occupation: Commissioner of Insurance Website: www.johnoxendine.com Date Qualified: Thursday, April 29, 2010 SOS Site So looks like it's John "I'm too ashamed of it to put my name on it" Oxendine's work. I initially was looking
  20. Well, first we'd have to get us a walmart up here to as cover for the entrance, nothing we have will have truck/car traffic to make an effective cover. The Paperwork in getting someone else, like the Crossroads Kroger or something cleared as an entryway would be incredible. I don't think the DOD or CIA would clear it anyway.
  21. I think we need to get the tunnels added to the SPLOST, or have a complete Tunnels SPLOST. The transportation and civil defense options that these tunnels provide are too important to leave to a politician's whim. I'd bet the tunnel project was the source of most of the budget reduction in the last two years, that's why we've heard nothing about progress.
  22. Is the water getting too warm? We've have a lot of sunshine lately... my pool is at 90 degrees.
  23. I never felt that it really generated any extra sales at the stores, it may have caused people to delay purchases to that weekend, but I've never met anyone who decided to buy extra because of the weekend. With the state's finances, I have no problem with them skipping it this year.
