Growing up on Long Island (NY), one of my first jobs in high school was working in a department store as a cleaner in the evening. When I would clock out and go home, the parking lot was empty. The first thing I would do when I got into my 1971 Delta 88 was to start doing donuts in the parking lot. It was a lot of fun, but it also taught me how to drive in the snow and correct a skid. Working in a metro Atlanta school district, my school was often without a school security officer or one that worked part time, or sharing duties between 2 schools. It is a recipe for disaster. I'm assuming these security guards are 8.00 per hour rent-a-cops who don't want to deal with being injured or face legal liability if they injure a student.

Just the way our political leaders are committed to the best interests of our citizens. From what I understand the woman's mother was to take care of her child then backed out. I don't think the father was in the picture. So what should she do? Put her child in foster care? Would you really want a soldier serving who was in that situation? Maybe she hadn't intended to serve but unless you know for sure, do you really think you could leave your child behind with no one to care for it?
