  1. Flounder: I can't believe I threw up in front of Dean Wormer. Boon: Face it, Kent. You threw up "on" Dean Wormer. What's your favorite quote from Animal House?
  2. My advice is to never ever speak to the Police regardless of the situation and never go to court without an attorney. If you are ever questioned by a police officer, simply keep your mouth shut and ask for a lawyer. If you witness a crime, don't call the police, call a lawyer. Otherwise they'll make you a suspect.
  3. I don't like the po-po...especially those in Hiram.
  4. If the ACLU is against it, then 99.9% of the time, it's ok with me.
  5. Our roads and highways are gridlocked with traffic congestion. Do you favor a MARTA style rail/bus line? We're broke now from out of control government spending. Do you really trust the politicians with even more of our money? I'm not in favor of a regional SPLOST, only problem is I don't know if we have an alternative if we're seriously going to relieve the traffic congestion. Your thoughts?
  6. If you have a roof over your head and running water in your home, you are one of the richest people in all the world.
  7. http://www.ajc.com/news/clayton/deputy-killed-in-clayton-1029871.html According to the AJC, a Clayton County Deputy Sheriff was shot and killed today. I drove through Clayton County on Monday and there are some very nice areas down towards Lake Jodeco down below Jonesboro, but back up towards Riverdale, the place looks like the ghetto. It's really rough up there. I don't know where Walker Road is, but it seems like Clayton County has a lot of crime and is in the news almost daily.
  8. The reason many people object to the death penalty is the numerous appeals and years of waiting for justice. Lawyers soak the taxpayers for every dime they can, all the way up to the highest court in the land. If a defendant was found guilty then publicly and painfully executed within 24 hours, that might deter a few folks from committing a crime (In some countries, public executions lead to a lower crime rate). I like a hanging or firing squad. There are many on this board who'd gladly donate the rope or bullets. Also, I like the idea of "an eye for an eye". If a murderer drowns hi
  9. I didn't like having to bag your own groceries and they didn't even provide the bags. That makes no sense to me. Customer service shouldn't mean self-service.
  10. great news on the new hospital! As far as the old facility, the article stated An existing long-term care facility will remain at the Dallas site. Long term care could mean a hospice facility or even assisted living/nursing home. They are probably leaving their options open. I personally would like to see Paulding County with a better mental health treatment facility. There are a lot of folks out there who need psychiatric care who don't need to be locked up in a jail setting.
  11. Perhaps if you buy a brand new pickup truck, you'll get one with a tailgate. In 1991, I bought a truck from Hardy Chevrolet and paid what I thought was a fair price. The salesman even offered to give me my 1st oil change for free. After signing all the paperwork and getting my keys, I asked the salesman about the tailgate. He simply said the truck didn't come with a tailgate and if I wanted a tailgate that would cost $XXX extra. I was stuck since I had already signed the paperwork. So I had to pull out a credit card and purchase a tailgate on my brand new truck. To top it off, after a co
  12. There is not interstate access here in Paulding County. There's enough noise around here already. Further, the citizens voted against the airport in the 1st place, but King Jerry rammed it right down our throats.
  13. I don't like the Ombudsman program. BOE should run the alternative school/summer school for those who struggle.
  14. Why doesn't the Fraternal Order of Police tell all cops to stop writing citations? the amount of money the county will lose on those fines will me much more than the the cost of the furloughs. That way, next time they won't furlough the po-po or they'll risk losing even more money. It worked in DeKalb County, it might just work in Cobb.
  15. I saw a what looked to be a warehouse on fire on South Cobb Drive right by Earl Small's. It looked to be adjacent to the batting cage. There are several firetrucks there and the police dept had traffic all backed up. I didn't have my camera with me, but heavy black smoke was pouring into the air. Flames looked to be at least 25 ft high.
  16. The GOP/Republicans are once again sticking it to the middle class while giving their corporate donor friends a free ride. Want to stop this madness? VOTE DEMOCRAT!
  17. Being a state employee at one time meant below avergae pay but way above average benefits, insurance, job security and retirement. The State promised the moon to employees to justify paying them below market wages for several years. My SIL works for the State and is now facing furloughs and reduced benefits. She hasn't had a raise in years. In fact they tell her how lucky she is just to have a job. Now they want to bark about how much of a pension she'll be getting? Sounds like the Republicans / GOP is wanting to get their greedy little hands on State employee retirement income so they can
  18. It's about time. I wonder if grandma will still have to use a porta potty at outdoor events, graduations, relay for life, etc.?

    Gas Prices

Our dependence on oil is the driving force behind two wars. We need alternative fuels and we need it NOW.
  20. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/26899958/detail.html WSB is reporting Sunday liquor sales is dead for the session after a state Senate caucus.
  21. I prefer CNN to FoxNews or the other news networks, but something tells me Cooper has exaggerated the real story.
  22. Have you tried Fagan's over across the Alabama line, going towards Piedmont? They've got a lot to choose from.
  23. I bought several 10 oz bars and 1 oz. bars when silver was at $6.00 an ounce. I sold all mine when it hit $18. I have bought and sold on ebay before, but my best deals came at flea markets at Mountain Top (Walnut Grove Alabama) and at Trade Day (Collinsville, Alabama). The folks around here want to charge you top dollar for their coins and bars. If you take your time and don't get in a hurry, you can find better deals.
