  1. When you do people right, you'll never go wrong.
  2. I can't tell you the number of times I've dealt with incompetent staff at the school system... at both Dallas Elementary and Paulding County High. The staff act condescending and don't give a crap about anything. Their ears don't work because they just won't listen to a voice of reason....... Bad attitudes and incompetence are all I've ever gotten from the school system. I sure don't want those folks to access anything about me without a court order... and don't get me started about the school board... I could ramble on for days about the school board and their absolute disdain for parents, ta
  3. Thank goodness Segars left, he single handedly ruined virtually all teacher/parent/student morale at PCHS Kids were treated like convicts, teachers were miserable and blah blah blah.... but hey, on the bright side, PCHS is scheduled to finally get a traffic light at the front entrance. I can't tell you how many times i've personally nearly been hit trying to enter & exit PCHS. The Board of Commissioners finally got the approval from the State of Georgia (after about eight years of phone calls and emails). If I had it to go over again, there's NO WAY I'd send my kid to PCHS
  4. I haven't seen a show of hers in over 10 years... I just don't care what her opinion is
  5. http://www.thepolkfishwrap.com/view/full_story/23001150/article-Good-Samaritan-Mike-Patterson-passes-away?instance=home_news_1st_left It is with great regret and sorrow we announce that good Samaritan, Mike Patterson, passed away early this morning, as confirmed by Brian Meadows, Mike’s brother. On June 8, 2013, Mike Patterson, age 43, severed his spinal cord after he dove into Euharlee Creek in Rockmart, Georgia to save a stranger's child from drowning. Mike was left paralyzed by his effort, and Mike’s own son, age 9, witnessed the accident from the shoreline.

Police said a 19-year-old suspect entered the store just before it was set to close. The robber pointed a gun at the clerk and started taking cash. Authorities said the clerk pulled his own gun and shot the robber, who died of his injuries. The suspect's name was not immediately released.
  7. "Paulding County High School will be getting a traffic light out front." This is great news. I've nearly had my fender knocked off getting into and out of PCHS. Thankfully my youngest will graduate in May and we'll be done with the Paulding County School System!!!!
  8. Didn't you know, according to many folks, God isn't allowed in schools any longer.
  9. I've been saying that for a while. I'm sure folks will say we have some decent officers, but they are few and far between. The officers I had to deal with were unpleasant and condescending, especially Hiram PD. Some little hicktown lieutenant strutting around like he's so tough. What a joke.
  10. http://news.yahoo.com/rock-band-ac-dc-releases-entire-catalog-itunes-144203763.html One day this week, I was flipping through the radio station in my truck and Highway to Hell came on. I quickly turned it, but began to wonder why would anyone listen to songs about being on a Highway to Hell? Why does our society glorify that stuff? Diabolical lyrics and extremely loud hard music and even marketing stuff like "Your eternal Damnation station" That stuff gives me the creeps. Now don't get me wrong, I like to hear a variety of music and I even enjoy some hard rock, but back in the 80's, the
  11. I have been fired twice in my life. Once I was 16 years old and once when I was 18 years old. You might say I've learned a lot since then. The 1st time the owner of the business was extremely nice and said he needed to make a change, it wasn't personal, just a business decision. The 2nd time, the manager said I was a goof off and had a bad attitude. He also cussed me like a dog and threatened to whoop me as he walked me out the door. At the time I got plenty mad, but later I found out the manager who fired me got fired himself, so that did make me feel better. Upon reflection, getting fi

  13. In most school systems, schools with a higher percentage of minority students tend to have lower test scores, higher truancy and disciplinary issues, etc. A lot of this also has to do with family income. For example, compare Osborne & South Cobb to Walton and Lassiter. The East Cobb folks have a lot more money than the folks in South Cobb and the schools reflect that. While I understand you child will only be in middle school, I'd suggest getting them totally out of government schools if at all possible.
  14. We've been to Boondocks and I wasn't impressed. We had to wait forever and the food wasn't all that good. A small hole-in-the wall place on Thomas Drive is called Montego Bay, they had some awesome Grilled Amberjack...
  15. As far as beer goes, Pabst is near the bottom in taste...
  16. I always wondered why we didn't nuke Mecca. We've been in two wars those guys, why not drop the big one and turn Mecca into a sheet of glass...? Then force them to bow down five times daily to New York or Washington instead of Mecca!
  17. I loved this Video. Back during the 70's & 80's I'd go to rock concerts, Ozzy, Kiss, AC/DC, ZZ-Top, Dio, etc. I even had a KISS t-shirt and on the back it said "If its too loud..you're too old" I used to love the concerts and extremely loud music. Now that I'm older, I tend to turn the volume down a bit. Anyways, thanks for finding this video.
  18. There was a music video showing Tugo running across Sad Hill Cemetery anxiously searching for the gold. Before he finds the gold, video shows the Sandman flashing as a bad dream and then Metallica comes on stage and performs ...It was AWESOME music video and it was a live concert, but now I can't seem to find it.
  19. I'm looking for the Metallica video with The Ecstacy of Gold introduction. The Ecstacy of Gold is the theme song for The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.
  20. We still aren't getting a much needed traffic light in front of Paulding County High School...The State will wait till a carload of kids gets crushed. I'm voting NO and I'm voting AGAINST each and every office holder on the ballot. All we've been given is lip service! If they're in office now, I'm voting for their opponent!
  21. I've been saying a light is needed there for quite a while...now there's a fatality! Do you think they'll listen? Nope!

    Wasps

I sprayed them with Hot Shot but they nearly got me... whew. we've been having it extremely rough with bees and wasps this year. The yellow jackets stung me three times but so far I've avoided the wasps. Anyone else see a lot more bees and wasps this year? My best guess is because winter was very mild last year (or I just ain't been living right).
  23. Yes. Mayor Austin has even mentioned the need for increased police presence around there because of the homeless people. There are parts of Dallas that are nice, along Hardee Street, near the old Post Office and the Main Street Area, etc, but the side of town below the old courthouse all the way past train trestle is looking run down. Property owners are responsible for upkeep of their property. Why not cite them when it gets run down? Don't we have a Marshal or Inspector or someone who can look at that and see it looks like a slum area?
  24. Across from Joan's Restaurant, a block away from the Main Street in Dallas is the most awful looking dump of weekly rental apartments. Is there any news on the horizon as to when the City of Dallas is going to make the property owner clean up the place? I mean the place is a run down slum and the scary looking folks that hangs out there are bad for local business. The Dallas police department has had problems with panhandlers bugging folks near The First Baptist Church and along Main Street, but cmon'. can anything be done to clean that place up?
